I just finished my P2 and bought this Epsilon DLS for my 26th flight. Six days from never having flown, to flying the Epsilon! I have 10 flights on it now and I love it. It is more responsive then the Alpha6 that I learned on. It does take a gentle but active hand. But I'm very happy with my choice. I use it with the Easiness3 harness and it easily packs into the reversed backpack with a bit of extra room to spare. I can squeeze my Advance Cockpit Carry flight deck into the pack as well, however I prefer to clip it onto the outside of the pack. I plan to use this as a hike and fly setup. Now I just need more experience before I head off on my own......

These Advance paraglider are very benign. I regularly fly an Alpha 7, Iota DLS and Omega ULS. All these gliders provide a great sense security if you follow precautions for the class and know which conditions you fly. I use an Alpha for soaring near the mountain and not worry about collapses too much, Iota for thermals in punchy conditions and Omega when is just nice for thermal flights at the end of the afternoons. Looking forward to see the Sigma DLS in 2024.

Thanks Greg! Really enjoying your videos! I think it's going to be a long while before I'm ready to upgrade but it's really interesting to learn about what to look for / expect from different wings. Also brilliant to see Jess and Fly Sussex featured in this video there's a whole gang of us recent Fly Sussex graduates learning together who really enjoyed this one :)

Just getting my p2 in the US and I love watching your vids! You're a great pilot role model, showing how to be sensible and fun. I hope you keep the vid coming!

Could you please generate playlist, like B glider reviews, C glider reviews, and so on? Cause for beginners like me it 8s always a question which model is in which category. And also it would be awesome if you could make tier lists, or a top 3 list once a year, of the gliders which are the best. That would be awesome to have a current overview. Keep on with this great work you doing!

There aren't bad wings nowadays. Such top 3 lists wouldn't make much sense.

He’s probably being sponsored by both brands so I wouldn’t ask him that question. Look at which brand he’s flying regularly and you will see his preference. 😉

@@SkywalkerPaul I haven't been able to fly in nice thermal conditions this summer, but I get good feeling from it. Just finished a SIV with the wing though. I'd say it's a very nice B wing. It's dynamic yet safe. You can feel the turns are more precise and can be stronger than a A wing. Getting out from autorotation is fast and easy. In, 360 the centrifugation is significantly stronger than a A wing, and the Epsilon doesn't exit that easily with just releasing the inside break. A bit of weighshift can be used. Tried the stall and reverse: need to stall in 2 times because the stabilos go behind otherwise. I know it's common on more advanced, long wings, but idk about B wings in general. Tried my first SAT with the Epsilon DLS, worked like a charm ! Overall quality of the materials: it's Advanced... Nothing to say except for the shit magnets that hold the brakes.

Could you comment on the weight range choice considering XC in mixed conditions? Trying to decide between 24 flown almost at the top vs 26 at about 88-90
@advanceparagliders
@advanceparagliders Год назад
@@MrGeorgi91 It depends on where you plan to fly most. In the Alps, flying in the upper third of the weight range would be a good idea. We'd recommend to test both at your local dealer and decide afterwards.

Does anyone know how this wing compares to the Nova Ion 7 light or Geo 7?

Hi Greg, thanks for this review. I allready have this epsilon dls and you show me new interesting point. However, i didn t understand what you get as max speed full bar. When i am flying, it seems to me that i only gain 5km/h full bar.

Is there a big difference between the Epsilon 9 and the Epsilon DLS? At the moment the Epsilon DLS is hardly available on the used market, but I want to switch to an Epsilon soon.

Epsilon DLS or Gin Explorer ??
@JP-ts8oy
@JP-ts8oy Год назад
The first one is a low to mid B made to tolerate some beginners mistake, and the other one is a high B with almost C performance. If you don't fly at least 50-70h per year, just don't buy an explorer you're just put yourself in danger.
@Daniel-fj8yx
@Daniel-fj8yx Год назад
@@JP-ts8oy it's true that there is a big difference between an low and high B (especially the newest ones). 50-70h per year is a lot, I don't know too many people who can commit to fly that many hours. I think the recommendation of Greg of 25-50h is also fine - if you have done SIV and step up from low B to high B (and not directly from A to high B). I flew the Epsilon 8 a few years with 20 - 45h per year and now stepped up to an IOTA2 with the same hours per year. Until now i flew it around 15h in partly very strong spring thermals and had a great time feeling well with it. It depends on you I think. If you fly a lot the first years and progress slowly and steady, you can fly a high B safely with less than 50h a year.
@JP-ts8oy
@JP-ts8oy Год назад
@@Daniel-fj8yx Yes fair enough. You're right about the SIV it's important to practice emergency situations!
