I did too. Ended up giving it away and buying a GoPro hero 8. Even if the akaso was only $20 I still wouldn’t want it now

I use the Akaso v50x it has the best stabilisation on this branch and maybe one of the best on the cheap cameras. Also you have the option save the videos in something like a raw file for edition. If you need a camera just for the bike 4K 30fps it should work

May be little late, but for anyone else having a problem with the EIS-image stabilization, it will not work if you have these 4 settings activated, Auto Low Light, Distortion Control, 1080p 90fps and 720p 120fps. Hope this helps.

On the battery issue you mentioned "before I plugged in the USB C cable it was getting hot" to me that says that the polarity on one or the other battery connection was reversed which would cause the two batteries to be to "short against each other and that was causing the heat. If the two battery connections were the same it would not cause the short no matter what the marking on the charger say with no power supply connected.

I noticed when you were showing the menu on the camera that image stabilisation is greyed out. Try dropping the resolution to for EG 1080 60 and see if it allows you to then turn on Image Stabilisation. It might not work on the 4K settings you’re on

Image stabilization is not available for all resolution and frame rates.

I would suspect that when the batteries was in the charger it might have damaged the batteries 😳😳

That very well could be why my battery dropped to 20% after only 10 minutes. Good point.

I own and use the Akaso Brave 4 for motovlogging. Yeah, it’s not a GoPro or Insta, but for what I use it for (rear facing) it works great. And I have $80 tied up in it as opposed to another $400 for a second camera. I may get another one TBH Oh by the way…. The Akaso support is excellent. As good as GoPro And just curious….. in your Akaso usage, what made you think it was complete junk? (Please don’t tell me you haven’t actually used one)
