Guys I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for writing all those comments on the internet about Italian cars. People here in Australia don't know Alfas, they are very rare, they see them on the road, they like them and then go on to read about them and come across your comments about how unreliable they are! And that keeps used Alfa prices rock bottom! You are offering a great service to the community, you saved me thousands of dollars on my used Alfa, thank you so much and keep up the good work!

Careful, there are MANY trolls on the net writing completely fictitious stories. There's one using multiple ID's (or several who knows) on YT who writes how much he's an Alfa fan but will never buy another because Alfa will not honor it's warranties. I immediately knew the stories were untrue and later saw similar but slightly different versions to make it sound there were many owners experiencing the same thing. When I called him (them) out, I got laughter emoji's and other snide remarks proving the stories are completely bogus.

I purchased my first Giulia in April 2018. I purchased my second in May 2021. It is the first car I have ever had that I turned around and bought the make/model again. These cars have not been perfect, I have had a couple of glitches where the dealer had to do updates. The first Giulia had right around 60k when I traded it in. The only reason is that I was at the dealership for an oil change and ended up trading when I and saw a blue one with only 16k I had to have. I have used both of them in my job where I was commuting from Peoria, IL to Tennessee and surrounding states where my job territory was at the time. I have never once experienced a mechanical issue that disabled the car. The car was my office, spent hours idling in parking lots in the hot summer with the AC running, stuck in traffic jams, etc.

Traded it in at 60k miles (I commute 100 miles a day) because: 1) couldn't fill up the gas tank due to some charcoal filter issue, 2) the steering wheel clicked when turning to one side. The dealer wanted to replace the entire steering column. 3) the radiator was "seeping" fluid, but it was leaking, 4) and a couple other things the dealer found that I had no idea about. Would highly recommend it. I have owned it since August 11 2021. At age 60, not my first rodeo. I get lots of notice and on occasion an impromptu race pops up. I hit Dynamic mode and beat them all. Easily beat a Challenger the other day without Dynamic on. I love, love, love my Guilia.

At every fresh start up to use Apple car play via my iPhone, the phone needs to be reconnected via the usb cable. While driving the headlights will momentarily flicker off and on or turn off then back on. Only notice that at night. All work done was covered and under the warrenty. Would I recommend it? I bought a brand new 2019 Guilia Ti sport and I absolutely loved it until about 15,000 miles. It was in the shop for over two months off and on for issues that they couldn’t seem to figure out. I experienced the battery issue within six months I had in the car and they replaced it with a Maserati battery because they said six months to get a new alpha Romeo battery! at 12,000 miles I started smelling antifreeze and I noticed a pinhole in the radiator and within a week it was gushing all over the engine. I took it in to service as I was about to go on a trip and they were very nice about it however they had to give me a radiator they had waiting for another customer because I was so upset that I just been in three times already in the past 2 months. The other issues I was having was that it took me 20 minutes to fill up the gas tank every time because the pump would just click off and I would have to baby it to get the rank full. Embarrassing to say the least. Finally after a code came up after two years of this in the car because they could never figure it out and they eventually replaced some part in the fuel system to make it stop doing it but at that point i already had so many computer issues as well I was done with the car. Was the most fun I’ve had in a car in a very long time on the twistiest of roads as far as handling and looks go it was unmatched. I’ve had 33 cars in my lifetime and none that were that beautiful. It is my daily driver so it has to be reliable. Again it was a great car up until 15,000 miles. Was definitely worth the experience but I would buy a used one to let somebody else get all the quirks out of it first and make sure it’s under warranty. Replaced the Alfa with a total opposite car which is a 2020 mustang GT, Oddly enough the insurance dropped when I bought the GT? Well worth the experience of owning the Alfa though. Just know what you are getting into. This will be my 6 th Gt but there will only be one Alfa.

this car was developed by the engineer Philippe Krief that did the ferrari 458. (the carbon prop shaft that is in the gta is used throughout the range) This 2litre turbo is also used in the maserati hybrid cars at the moment. Many people dont know, Enzo Ferrari used to work for alfa romeo for a long time before starting his own brand.

I will say I have a Giulia TI and I’ve had numerous issues. Bought used with 12k miles on it. I’m at 36k now. I’ve had the AC, fuel pump go out. My sunroof latch/ track broke. I currently have an issue with the oil in the vehicle. Read 3/4 on the electronic meter ( don’t get me started on how dumb this is ) the day before it read oil change required and was on red. No leak that I saw. It’s sad because it truly drives great, feels great. But the issues so far, which have been covered by the warranty, are a problematic and annoying.

Plenty on car gurus well under $30k even In today's market. Also low miles but by alpha standards I guess it's high milage.. I dkn.. I really want one but have to wonder why such a great car gets dumped with such low miles.

Seriously considering one of these and have seen a lot of videos, thanks for this, you should be selling them, I found it properly insightful. I've had a lot of German cars, in fact something from all of their manufacturers and the vast majority have had at least some sort of electrical or computer problems. Indeed I have one right now that throws up a check engine light if I even look at it the wrong way. I've had enough, maybe it's time to try a little Italian action. Thanks again, great video.

These cars are really reliable so long as you keep it connected to a battery tender whenever possible, dont mind having the radiator replaced on a new car, and changing out fuses under a wheel well 😂🤣😂

I'd rather take the Stinger or G70 because they also come with better warranty and low cost of maintenance. I think they are both also slightly bigger with the interior space(rear legroom). This is a neat looking car though.

I would like to make a minor correction. The GME T4 2.0 engine is not forged. It uses cast rods, and cast pistons. This doesn't make the engine weak by any means, there are plenty of people on 32lbs of boost with no issues and a few with hybrid turbos.
@club.alfagt
@club.alfagt 2 года назад
Right. Which I’ve heard. But I go based on what FCA and Alfa Romeo publish which is forged pistons and crank
@Tekgnome.
@Tekgnome. 2 года назад
@@club.alfagt The publication is incorrect. The community has disassembled the engine and have pictures of the rods and Pistons, there are also disassembled engines on eBay that clearly show cast rods, and cast pistons as well. They are definitely cast parts, and definitely a whoops on Alfa's marketing department. There was a long debate on the Alfa Romeo Giulia fourm because of the false advertising material. We came to the conclusion that they must have accidentally mistook the engine specs for the QV. Tldr: The GME T4 engine uses cast rods, cast pistons, SOHC, and 4 bolt mains.
@club.alfagt
@club.alfagt 2 года назад
@@Tekgnome. the “community” doesn’t outweigh or override FCA Alfa Romeo But not all decisions/opinions need to be fought/won here in the comments The jury is still out on how/why Alfa Romeo would falsely advertise for 6 years in a row Nonetheless, these are very strong 4cyl turbo engines worthy of praise and ready for modification
@RayQ101
@RayQ101 2 года назад
The GMET4 is definitely cast and not forged, how are you still mindlessly following the MARKETING material? I’ve literally seen one in person and definitely not forged. It’s literally the same engine as the units in the base Jeep models now….same stellantis parts sharing. The chassis is the only good part of your non-QV car. The engine is absolutely not a gem, 32 PSI is 30 year old Mitsubishi 4G63 territory.

Audi has already ditched the dual clutch for their S/RS models some time ago, since 2018. Porsche still uses the PDK but that transmission is gold. Main reason why dual clutch is being replaced is because the ZF offers comparable performance (not the same) with better fuel efficiency and comfort.
