The sigma is the first real change in emotos since the 2014 surron. the hype is deserved. whether or not the product is "better" than the competition. we need more changes in configuration. companies are being too safe copying surron class rides
I agree, this is good for the market all around. Just the amount of people abandoning their reliable bikes for something that might flop is interesting to me. Also keep in mind the sigma without the plastics looks just like an elongated surron (room for the bigger battery). Only innovative changes i see with this bike are the huge battery and the hairpin motor
@@E-RiderHub fair point. Dirtbikes cant be that much different. Theyre already perfect. But i think the changes in motor choice and higher voltage are worth it. If i had the money to throw away i would get one instantly. But we really should wait and see how durable the sigma is before calling it great
I wish they would lift the NDA for real world range numbers. It has a lower kWh compared to the Ultra Bee, but is supposed to have a more effecient motor. I think they're claiming 50 miles, so I assume itll be around 18-20 miles in real world trails and etc :[
Yea Im very interested to see the range but it's probably worse than the ultra bee to be fair. Ultra bee battery: 4070 Wh Altis sigma battery: 3430 Wh They're also similar in weight so I've gotta give it to the ultra bee
This space of emoto is far behind the times, but finally catching up. Higher voltage is always to goto for dirtbike conversions where getting over 25kw is the norm. The Sigma is my first turnkey emoto because they finally come with everything the conversion community wants, full moto brakes and suspension components with high voltage. Im just hoping im not underwhelmed because all the bikes I've built are all 22kw or higher. Regardless im almost certain ill be pleased with the purchase.
I ordered the Altis Sigma MX in black soon as they went live. we also now have the E ride SR with 25kw power motor. But honestly id much rather go with the sigma still due to the fact that id rather have 98v battery and 20kw motor (Altis) than a 72v battery and 25kw motor (like e ride SR) cause its wayyy cheaper to do motor upgrades than to do battery upgrades. I already sold my Eride pro ss for $4300 last week. But yeah only thing is we’ll have to see about reliability
eh I'm it's fine. E-Ride was brand new and despite the fork issues and overheating issues people still recommend the heck out of it. Ultimately more competition is good so bring it on!
Surprised so many people are willing to jump at a new product with absolutely no brand history , or knowledge on reliability We’ll see how it goes. Also think the Sigma has a slightly different market than the LBX type bikes. Looks more and acts more like a full fledged dirt bike Also surprised people forget about the Ventus 1 so quickly
E ride pro sr is the around the same price but it’s 25kw and has the same kinda suspension as the altis. E ride is also coming out a PRO MX next year 55kw 300v 20ah Kyb suspension $9,999
I think it will be a decent bike, I think its good to have a lot of competition, but there is so many Surron class ebikes out there. The thing that sucks is there wont be a lot of aftermarket parts since there is so many different vendors now. They all are using unique frames, batteries and parts. But there's a lot of vendors who don't make it, they just disappear. Stuff like the WAU Cyber bike or even Cake disappeared from the market. Its gonna be some time before we see who's winning the emoto wars.
Wow i completely forgot about the WAU Cyber bike lol. Cool concept, but its hard to make a name for yourself in this market without a reputation or bringing something new to the market. Cake bikes were just super overpriced. Cool designs and concepts but for $10,000 for their top of the line dirtbike you're better off investing in a stark varg
@@E-RiderHub I think that's the key is each of these companies launch at different times with different expectations. It's only been a short time since we were on 60V bikes with MTB brakes. Everyone expects a bike now with a minimum of 72V and decent hardware. I don't think the Sigma is gonna have trouble selling for that price with those specs. For a hot minute E ride pro was the best specs for the price. but the game is always changing.
I have a question, if the 72v battery is able to put out 25 kw of power why can’t you change the controller to make the 98volt Altis sigma battery do like 30kw? Is the motor stopping it? Can the battery handle that power?
My understanding is that the motor can only handle so much power before the windings melt. You can run a motor over it's rated power, but it will reduce the motor's lifespan and eventually it will overheat. The controller is responsible for controlling the amount of current it pulls from the battery and sends to the motor. Every battery will have a max discharge current before the BMS either cuts it off or a fuse is blown. Some controllers can handle different voltages but still send a limited amount of current to the motor
@@E-RiderHub thanks so for this bike you would have to upgrade the motor and controller but not the battery. Also not sure if you have heard about the eride pro sr but it’s 72volt and 25kw and comes out in January. I’m not sure if to get the Altis sigma or wait for the pro sr
@@aydentaub3544 Yea motor and controller upgrades would be cheaper but eventually you'll deal with reduced range which is why people upgrade all 3 but that costs a lot of money. Better to buy a bike that meets your requirements. IF you can wait, see what the range and quality of the sigma is. If the range is worse than the other 72V bikes on the market wait for the SR (72V 50aH battery)
Will be hard to tell since we don't know full details about the eride sr. My best guess would be ultra bee, altis sigma, eride pro sr, eride pro ss. That is from best range to worst based on battery capacity
@@E-RiderHub I agree, one thing about the Altis is that it’s just as heavy as the ultra bee around 190lbs. So the range on it might not be as good as the lighter erides I was thinking.
I wouldn't worry too much. Hopefully they're support is good but you'll have a pretty big community of people to get help from. Seems like majority of people are selling their current bikes to get the sigma
I used to have a mx-4 a year ago and sold it after snapping my collarbone in half on it, worst mistake ever, i am now going to save up for this bike next.
First time Emoto buyer .. I bought talaria MX five and love these to get a one of these or just rock out the MX five I also have a good motocross background so I’m not new to riding
MX5 is my first emoto, so I'm more than happy with it. There will be controller upgrades in the future if you want more power but that will come with 1-2k price. If you are set on wanting the absolute most power possible and are focused on offroad then the altis sigma mx MIGHT be worth the wait. I'm just a little skeptical about the quality of the bikes
I just think that the price of the sigma is really nice. The bike looks really nice but honestly, I’m looking for more city urban trails camping some tracks. Nothing too crazy to the point where I’m going 90 miles an hour on an E bike.
just a little at first, but I retightened the bolts on bar and its somewhat better. Will be investing in a direct stem mount in the future. Have a video coming soon about upgrades i plan to do
I ordered my Altis Sigma MX (black) on launch day, and it's scheduled to arrive by November 7th. Honestly, I don't think it's overhyped at all. If you're concerned about quality, just compare the suspension on almost every other e-bike out there-it’s laughable. Coming from a downhill racing background, I can’t help but shake my head at what these companies are putting on their bikes. The suspension, wheels, and tires are often cheap and underperforming. I also own a Surron X, and while it's fun, the suspension and tire setup leaves a lot to be desired. In my opinion, paying just $1,000 more for the Altis compared to a new LBX or Talaria is totally justifiable. I recently rode a Talaria MX4 with only 400 miles on it, and it felt like it was going to fall apart on the trail-the battery rattled like crazy, too. Talk about poor build quality!
Yes talaria addressed the rattling issues with a foam mounted to the battery on mx5. I don't have any racing experience, but I've heard the pain of blowing out forks on these bikes
100%. These companies need to start focusing on AH out of the box. I would take slightly fewer volts for more AH any day of the week. Like 98V is cool and all, but with 35AH, it's not going to last that long at all. Especially when you're ripping full throttle with that 98V system 😅😂
@@jello3671 i get u but u still gotta take in account for the over all Watt hours... Voltage x Amp Hours 98 35ah = 3430 | 72 40ah = 2880 so its still a bigger battery and will get a good ammount more range than 72 40 probably
@@realkidcarter so what would your estimation be for how long you can ride it ripping full throttle or just a constant 55mph? I saw that they did the range test at 25 mph and was a little annoyed. I just really don’t know much when it comes to e motos and heard the biggest downside with them was the range.
We don't know the real world range. But theoretically, the sigma should have a ton more range than the mx5. Just depends on how efficient the sigma hairpin motor actually is. The battery cell quality is important too
Cops don’t even care about gangs of Dirtbikers with no helmets doing wheelies around streets and sidewalks taking over traffic and causing havoc. You think they care about an E bike 😂
I've seen surronster's and talaria boys' vid on the bike but still don't know enough about the bike to speculate. Specs look comparable to the Eride pro ss and the Talaria MX5
Not negative just a realistic opinion I have. I'm excited for the company and product but numbers on a piece of paper aren't enough to fully convince me

@@NWguy83 just that the hype behind the altis sigma was mostly generated by him. He was teasing the bike the week leading up to the announcement. The bike was released right after he dropped the video
@@E-RiderHub The Altis is for sure over-hyped. 1. it's fat 2. removing the battery is difficult. 3. The only advantages it offers over a MX-5 is a larger battery
