People are only saying this bc Michigan won a national championship. My school is a B1G school and I’d say hell naw. SEC now has 3+ teams every year which could be a genuine playoff contender. The B1G realistically has 1 or 2… the rest of the conference is either consistently awful against solid competition or too likely to suffer from choke disease when it counts.

I do think the SEC put a lot of NFL talent has put up,… but here comes the pac and the big to show that they are deserving of a spot. What do I know most of my life I am a Montana fan. Now we have a chance to compete at least a lil bit.

I'm not saying the B1G can't overtake the SEC at some point (even soon, because anything is possible), but consider the following, as the conferences now stand: 1. In the 21st century, SEC teams have 15 natties, B1G teams have 5. That's 3 to 1 advantage SEC. 2. Three B1G teams (USC, OSU, UM) have won natties in the 21st century, and six SEC teams (Bama, Auburn, LSU, UGA, UF, Texas). That's a 2 to 1 ratio. 3. Of Top 15 programs all time, five now reside in the B1G (Michigan, OSU, Nebraska, Penn State, USC), and eight in the SEC (Bama, Texas, Oklahoma, UGA, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee). The last 5 SEC teams have not been on the traditional Blue Blood list, but just below it. But they've been stronger than mid-tier B1G both historically and recently. The SEC doesn't look like it's getting any weaker, realistically speaking. Yes Bama has 6 of those 21st century titles, but that leaves 9 titles spread out among 5 teams besides Bama. I think, before discussion about "overtaking" the SEC, the first more reasonable goal ought to be to try to catch up.
