Harley Davidson Breakout 2023 review, with a bigger gas tank, a more relaxed riding position and uprated 117ci engine and a lot of chrome, have Harley made the breakout a better bike? Join me while we try to find out.
As far as tech, it also has a usb port, abs and traction control and the minimalist gauge does give you all the info you need from gas gauge to rpms to diatance left and I may be wrong on this one but I think it also has tire pressure as well. So yeah it's minimalist in style but not that minimal in features.
Handles well, huh? It better. What're you gonna do when a Kaw 1000 pulls up next to you at a redlight? You gonna tell the guy that it handles well? @@FenTour
Best Breakout Harley ever released. With 117, 5 gal. Tank, Air Breather and lots of chrome. This is what Harley should look like and expected. Almost perfect, just hope it came with dual front disc brakes. IMO the Denim Black looks the best with all the chrome. Nice video!!!
Hi Steve, thanks for watching 👀 and for your comments, I really enjoyed the breakout, much better than I expected. More videos on the way so please subscribe as this will help me to produce more content 👍
good review .. ive owned the sportglide and 2 ultra limiteds, plus heaps of other bikes .. sports and sports tourers etc .just traded my 20 ultra for the 23 breakout after reviewing the crap out of it .. never rode the earlier breakout as the reviews were pretty average to say the least.. i found this new one was just a tad hunched over which was ok for the shorter runs but pretty uncomfortable for any distance but ive got a bad lower back .. also i found a fair bit of vibration thru the bars and the mirrors where useless as all i could see were my forearms and the vibration made seeing anything behind a blur.. BUT ! ive just fitted 14" burliegh 2 " thick highball apes and the difference is bloody amazing .. the riding position is so much more comfortable and i could ride all day long .. the vibration thru the bars has completely gone and i can now under mount the mirrors for near perfect vision again with no vibration so clarity is now pretty perfect. .it also feel quite a bit better handling wise so i really cant complain about the money spent on getting these bars fitted ... my only real gripe i have at present is wet roads .. the front guard is to short and the wheel kicks shite up all over the bike .. tank included so i need to get a front fender wrap.. happy days !!
Hi MJ, so glad you enjoyed my review, I was really surprised by the breakout and wasn’t expecting to enjoy it, but the small changes have made it a much better bike. Sounds like you’ve got yours just how you like it too. More reviews on the way soon so keep watching 👀 👍
Hi Mike, not as much as I thought it might, it’s not ideal but too be honest I got used to it and if I owned the bike I think I’d keep it for the looks. Thanks for watching, please subscribe if you haven’t already 👍
@@mike748golfsmithI have a 2013 cvo breakout the heavy breather stock air cleaner always hits up against my leg I notice the newer breakout have a shorter one than mine does
@@AriesManiac wow that was the first ever Breakout I think and the one that started the new line. Congrats and thanks for the info. I rode the 117 last week and loved it 😉.
Rode one last weekend. My impressions were that it's slow, loud and takes a mile to stop. That being said it is comfortable and does have great smile factor.
Hi Big DT, that’s the main thing, it made you smile 😃 could do with an additional disc on the front though. Thanks for watching, if you haven’t already please subscribe, it helps me to produce more content 👍
slow ?.. compared to what . its hardly slow mate but if ur used to a crotch rocket then maybe ur feel that way. getting of my 20 ultra limited with a similar size motor its worlds apart.. but hey .. ive also fitted burliegh apes and its transformed the bike comfort wise and handling .. and no vibration at all thru the bars .. loving it
@@mjwello It wasn't the comfort, like I said above, I found it comfortable. As you rightly point out, slow/fast are relative terms. My comparison is to my Triumphs, both of which will do 0-60mph in well under 4 seconds. Not only that, but I can take them on track and fly through the corners. My real complaint was the brakes, they're terrible, worse than some of my quads. I even talked to the GM of the dealership, who is a racer, about the brakes and he agreed with my assessment.
what trumps are we talking about ? .. firstly i dont think ive ever riden any bike that i cant critisize ..none at all, every bike ive ever owned has had some sort of issue.. the thing is you buy a bike that suits you and your riding and this thing suits me perfectly at the moment. its not made for speed as such or handling so why put stuff on it that its not designed to do .. they have other harleys that have those things , having a bigger or smaller engine in it bother me not one iota.. the brakes pull me up in a heartbeat and are a massive improvement on some bikes ive own.. jap bikes mostly .. and clearly the breakout or any other harley are not track bikes so why even try and compare .. and for that matter neither are many triumphs. ive alway kept my bikes pretty stock except for some minor changes ..ie exhausts or visuals .as i dont see the point in spending thousands upon thousands when you can just buy something that has everything you need already.. so in essence the breakout has always caught my eye since the day it was produced but the reviews were never to crash hot , however they have apparently improved it quite significantly.. so it was time to give it a look and the only gripe i really had was that the vibration thru the bars was pretty bad and looking in the mirrors was pretty much useless.. and the front guard is also useless and shite gets flicked up from front wheel all over the bike and myself . Anyway , ive fixed the vibration issue with a set of apes and also eases my lower back problem drastically.. and im just gonna get a wrap front fender to solve the other prob. at the end of the day you either buy it or you dont and sure there are things that could be different or better blah blah.. but heres the thing for me ..i only really critize if i actually buy something and then it doesnt perform the way its meant to and currently i have nothing but praise for this breakout as the joy factor far outweighs any problem that i had and fixed anyway haha. having said that i took a ducati diavel for a test ride because i always like the look .. WORST BIKE I HAVE EVER RIDDEN BY FAR !!.. anyway mate each to their own i guess ..keep those wheels planted mate : )) @@Big_DT
As always would reviewers please tell us their height and inseam measurement. No way anyone with long legs wouldn't crack their shin on that sticky out air filter. Thank you.
Hi Adam, my apologies, I’m 5:10 and the heavy breather caused no issues at all, I have a friend who is 6:3 and he has no issues either. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi, yeah pretty much, an exhaust and a tuner, no need for a new air filter as it already has the heavy breather. Thanks for watching, more on the way soon 👍
Like yourself couldn’t get on with the older Breakout due to lower back pain in that stretched out position at 5’8” and trying to corner with it …havent tried this one yet
Hi Michael, yeah the V-Rod was a great bike, such a shame Harley dropped it, it’s seems strange that only now they are reintroducing iwater cooled engines. Thanks for watching, please subscribe if you haven’t already 👍
@@sweetrides8418 Can it rev 15000 rpm? I don't think so. LIke I said, I'd love to have one, but I''d hate to think that some kid on a Honda, or a Kaw-1000 would blow me away.
Hi Jon, thanks for watching and for your comments, it’s really not as bad as it looks, but I must admit I am much more comfortable on my Road Glide ST. If you haven’t already, please subscribe as this helps the channel to provide more content 👍
That’s a fair comment Mariuss, although not too many left in decent condition these days. Thanks for your comments and please subscribe if you enjoyed the video 👍
