The desert eagle saved my life once. I was hiking in Alaska when a grizzly came out of nowhere, my first shot went wide left and the cartridge failed to eject. The bear felt so bad that I’d spent so much money on a paperweight that he gave me directions to town and left me alone
@Lycan Hussar saw a pepe meme using a 45-70 Derringer. It said... "Give me your -money-" (edit: tendies) "You know what?!?! Fuck us both" Pull back shows the one guy is a red stain. The shooter smoldering shoes.
To be fair. Getting slapped with a lead ball then also blinded and choking on the smoke that's coming out of the damn thing would be worse than just being shot.
I carried one before I turned 21 and before constitutional carry was passed in Ky and tn. I live close to the border (I did that because of it not being legally a firearm. I’m not a lawyer, this isn’t legal advice. You know, all that fun stuff.)
We have a guy that comes into our shop all the time preaching the merits of concealed carry and why it's infinitely better to hide what you're carrying than show it off, only problem is is that he concealed carries a desert eagle and you can just see this huge number seven shape poking out of his sweatshirt at all times. He even called me out recently saying I need to conceal carry. I'm like, "Alan I carry every day." And I showed him my P365XL. He's like, "Oh damn I didn't even know!" And I'm like, "Yeah brother I thought that was the point!"
I feel like this Alan dude is just really small😂 hate to say it but size matters if you're gonna carry above a 9mm, I carry a deagle and the only time it's ever been shown imprinted is if I'm wearing some light pants.. but even with a thick t shirt and some khakis I can conceal mine fairly easy.. I'm about 6'1 and 190lbs, my torso is also a little longer than most so ig that helps haha.
>hear a robber coming into your house at night >grab ye ol' trusty desert eagle .50 off the nightstand >this is what you've been waiting for >aim it down the hall and wait for the robber to come >robber shows up, you fire a single bullet >his entire upper body instantly disintegrates >your house needs a new wall >neighbour's fridge has a hole the size of a watermelon >you kiss your sense of hearing goodbye, as a single tear of joy rolls down your cheek I don't know boys, seems like it has its use.
But its not really that loud, it has a nice bassy quality to it. I hate how 9mm sound its way more whiny. And it really compensates well for kickback. Sure i can barely palm the thing and its not easy to one hand but man its awesome
>get robbed and empty my desert eagle into the robber >go to the store to buy replacement ammo >realize it would have just been cheaper to hand over my wallet
No you got what u paid for. He's REALLLLYYYY dead now. Take pictures and upload it everywhere and other robbers will know you as the "50 cal guy" and not mess with you
But then, if you use it as a gta protagonist, it will absolutely do no proper damage or drop anyone in a single hit. You are better off being a protagonist in some other game that isn't gta.
@Charles-ze2zk using it on zombies is an overkill. Just use it on bosses. For zombies, stick either to a handgun or shotgun, or you play as a female character, then handgun or grenade launcher or dart gun. Except for RE3, you get all parts of the world.
It's all about intimidation, the gangbanger ain't gonna be messin with you if you pull the Desert Eagle out, but if he's still acting tough, pull out the glock.
The Deagle is the perfect home defense weapon. I mean other peoples homes. Down the street. Perfect for if your neighbor 4 houses down is getting robbed and you need to wallbang the robber
@@The_Sleepiest_Socialist why would a robber carry body armor? That would slow them down by a ton. Besides its the pain that counts. Even if a round does not penetrate its still gonna hurt a lot.
there was a darwin award where home invaders forced a guy to open his gun safe apparently not realising it was a gun safe and he pulled a .50 from it and ended them... i really hope it was a real story.
Also if your arm isn't all the way out the recoil is gonna skip that thing right off the side of your head. If you get lucky. Shooting that thing for an hour makes your shoulder feel like you been dialing scopes on big game rifles all day. It's not bad for one hunter in a group to have one if you go out in cougar or bear country, just in case. I've heard they work ok for moose but I've never seen it so, idk, I'd probably just mag dump it no matter what.
There's also a few other issues that make it a terrible concealed carry weapon. 1. It's slow to take out due to its size and weight. This might get you killed in a self defense situation. 2. After the self defense incident, in court (where the opposing side will be accusing you of murder/attempted murder) they will lay into you like crazy for using it and say that you carrying it shows criminal intent because of how powerful and overkill it is compared to what the average person carries. 3. Unless you wear earplugs wherever you go, the noise will make you half deaf for a week. 4. Bending over and sitting down with that tucked into your pants will be immensely uncomfortable and sometimes painful. 5. Due to the sheer size and beefiness of this thing, there's a serious risk of someone noticing the distinct hand cannon shaped outline in your pants while you're in a gun free zone, which you don't want. Alternatively, some people will just think you're at full mast at all times, which is definitely not ideal.
How's a mugger gonna testify against me if he's dead? Also, my dad tells me that if someone breaks into your home, you're only allowed one shot in self defense, any more and it's illegal, in that case, I'll take the gun thats guaranteed to put even the toughest burglar down in one hit.
@@edgardox.feliciano3127 who says you get one shot? if you aren’t being obsessive you get what you need as honesty you’ll probably miss. if you are worried about home defense get a shotgun then you don’t have to worry about any more shots if that concerns you. cause again you’ll likely miss with a deagle and that recoil is insane especially when you have a few seconds before they kill you. there is no reason to use one it’s just too much gun.
The Desert Eagle is a practical self defense method. Even once you're out of ammo, you have a huge chunk of metal that can slap the hell out of someone without something breaking inside. It also comes with a comfortable handle.
Heard a story from a gun shop I frequently visit that they had a *HUGE* corn-fed, country-looking guy who conceal carried a .50 AE Desert Eagle come in one day. Apparently, his hands were so big, that it made the DE look the size of a Glock 19, and every other full-size handgun was too small for him to use, which is why he went with the DE.
I remember reading a story about a guy who got a really good deal on a bunch of .50AE right before COVID hit, and then ammo prices shot through the roof so that .50 was all he really had on hand in bulk. He’d just bought a holster for the Desert Eagle, so he decided to go ahead and carry it until he could afford normal ammunition. According to him it took some getting used to but wasn’t as uncomfortable or unconcealable as expected.
Legally drawing the pistol is treated the exact same as shooting someone with it, it is classed as assault with a deadly weapon. It's why, despite advice from the president of all people, you shouldn't fire warning shots or make warning gestures.
@@jimmydesouza4375where I live it’s a small town and people here will own any kind of gun because it’s Texas ofc you need a gun and my neighbor actually let me shoot a airsoft deagle and he told me that a real one will kick so much more than that and I’d believe it
Pfft, you don't even need to pull the trigger to put some tweaker in their place with this thing. I've seen a 45 scare some tweakers into behaving (as long as the holder isn't a cop), but pulling out a Deagle is always like rolling a nat 20 on intimidation check. Just the thought of being shot with a .50ae scares even the dumbest of criminals
To be fair, if you're comparing it to a large frame revolver (.357 or .44 only here) you get the recoil mitigation that comes with being a sometimes comped semi auto, and a few more rounds than a standard revolver. From that perspective it could be a decent choice, ya know, if they were reliable
I don't buy cheap ammo and I keep her in tip top. My friend had one he used to let me shoot which sold me on it can't say for sure but never seen a problem with that one either
My local range has .50AE Desert Eagles for rental and today was the first time since 2020 that they've had ammunition in stock for it. 5 Rounds were 20 dollars. Its a fun pistol and 100% a bucket list item, but not practical at all. Everything around it is cost prohibitive and I can't imagine doing a range day with it, cost wise and wrist wise.
@@yourfriendlyneighborhoodhu5558 it's a bad day for everyone, no one wins. Plus it hurts like a mofo to shoot multiple rounds, that caliber is no joke on a handgun.
@kalsyphr5039 mate, I've shot my brother in laws, it kicks like a 357 mag, doesn't really hurt anything except your wallet and whatever is standing in front of it
It's my favorite weapon for self-defense. You get the guy, and seven extra manslaughter charges with a single round. And don't even get me started on the free property damage.
@@SuspiciousSalmon-pk3sk bears are one of the few animals on Earth that kill humans to eat them rather than finding a corpse to pick clean, and I don't know if you've seen any species of bear up close but let's just say anything under hot 10mm will probably just make one mad
A polymer 10mm like a glock 20 has more energy in the magazine, is substantially more shootable, and is more powerful than the weakest yet most practical desert eagle. This is what people who live in bear country actually carry, because it’s the smartest option short of a rifle or shotgun
It's practical in the sense that if you hit an attacker in the head with it, it's pretty much a guaranteed kill. Oh yeah, and the .50 AE round is pretty powerful too.
One argument for heavier firearms I've heard is that in a self-defense situation your adrenaline will spike up. Suddenly it doesn't matter if the gun is not heavy and the weight might even help you keep it stable and your hands from shaking.
I dont think the weight when youre in a self defense situation is the problem i think for example when he said as a meme carry. Shit is heavy amd big to be hauling around as a concealed carry. And if you are clearing your house at night smaller is better when operating in a enclosed enviroment
I once took a picture when a friend was firing a dessert eagle. It literally warped the surrounding air. It's insane in power and recoil. It has no practical application...... but it's kind of cool
If shot placement is hard when you have adrenaline going with regular calibers I hope your shot placement with 50AE is legendary, but that’s just me being candid
@@VintageWarfare I'm just assuming that the person I question would be incapacitated unless they have a whole bunch of drugs pumping through there veins
Funny, having bear paws for hands, I loved the Desert Eagle in 357Magnum.... I put the first 4 shots through 1 hole the first time I fired one, on the first day that I ever fired a centre fire pistol or rifle...😎
Nah, cuz that can penetrate through multiple walls and people. Wouldn’t be good for household situations or public areas at all. Could easily kill innocent people. Would be best to use it in the wilderness.
A friend of mine has a desert Eagle, we took it out shooting and he couldn’t get two consecutive shots without a failure to feed due to limp wristing. I’m a big guy with strong hands and a lot of experience with handguns, and I had to consciously force the gun forward while shooting to keep it from malfunctioning. All that to say, if I had the money for a desert Eagle, I’d buy 2 .44 magnums, and spend the money that I saved on ammo on a third.
It's a good self defense pistol for people with the grip strength and wrist strength to keep it from flying out of their hands when they fire it. Roughly someone of 230 to 240 or more pounds in weight.
When I first got interested in owning a gun, I wanted the baddest of them all, the Desert Eagle. Then I did my research that said a 50AE will not only stop the robber but also go through him and pass through all the walls of your house and hit the neighbor. So I went with the Glock 19 and a 12 gauge. I might buy a Desert Eagle eventually as a range toy but that’s about it.
I was working at a gas station selling cigs and this dude didn’t have an ID so claimed he was in the military and it was illegal to refuse service, I then informed him that was made up so he angrily stomped away and sent his friend to buy them, the friend was totally chill and nice but he had a long slide deagle on his hip as his open carry, the only time I’ve seen a deagle in real life.
I want the special edition "Shaquille O'Neal" D.E. It's got very soft, ergonomic hotdog neck back strap to absorb all that recoil from the 50 Shaqtion Expressions.
