I have this guitar. 3 weeks later I got up and strap came off and busted head off. Took it to a luthier and he fixed it and but on some lighter strings. Plays fine I love it. 150 bucks to fix.
got one yesterday, I was surprised actually how much it feels like one of my Gibson les pauls :) the only real big difference is the pick-ups, they are very "sharp" and not a bad sound, just different. I have some Gibson 61 burst buckers I'm gonna through in there and get rid of that split/pull business as I never use that. With CTS pots and orange drop caps, mixing the volumes in the middle position makes me a happy camper.
Hey man, great vid. Been on the lookout for select models but overall great channel too. Appreciate the comparisons, ive only ever played a gibson standard once, and i own this Epi model- 🍒 burst. The split PUP comparison was a nice touch also. I prefer when its a quick to the point comparison, not just playing a gibson for a few minutes, then the epi for another few mins. Break it down, play the same thing and actually COMPARE them. Ha ha! well done. Will subscribe after this!
I agree with all points. They play and sound fabulous. Pickup & Bridge need to GO! I modded a 2020 epi Standard and its one of my full on go to’s. Sanded the logos off and reshaped it to be a Gibson open book headstock. NO one guesses its an Epi. They have really stepped up since 2018
I picked up this classic in the worn black it’s called and it was mint condition. I picked it up a pawnshop for 260 bucks. I picked it up didn’t even plug it in and liked it. I think it’s a fantastic guitar and I’ve never been a fan of Gibson I know it’s strange.
Back in 2020, I bought a used for $450 ($650 MSRP) but in 2024, at my local shop costs $859 new. It’s a great guitar, love the sustain. It can play blues, country, and rock….what else do you need??
great film brother! i have the worn ebony model...mine has the 2 volume coilsplits but not the "outta phase" pot... did these come with probuckers? i think mine did....ill research it more.... my gold epi sg has the alnico pros in it....
No Both Epiphone Les Paul Classics do not come with the Epiphone Probucker pickups, they come with the Alnico Classic Pro Humbuckers, these are not as hot as the Probuckers. I know because I have Epiphone guitars with both of these 2 different pickups. I prefer myself the Probuckers over the Alnico Classic Pros!
I'm a new player who's mostly just explored gilmour stuff till now.. I started on a bullet strat that I'm sick of and getting rid of. Been looking for a single guitar that'll give me a lot of sounds as I'm not sure what style I'll gravitate towards in the future. Have had my eye on this. Would you recommend it?
Be a bit serious man...!!Only a Gibson is quite good! And not all of them,i could say...!!!Epiphone or anything else,is just "Wood",for your fireplace!!!😉
I own 27 Gibsons and 0 Epiphones… so on some level I can agree with you. Eventhough the comment is designed for “Clout”. These Epiphone guitars are actually pretty good, though! They don’t feel quite “Finished” in comparison to the Gibsons, but, they are quite comfortable to play. Cheers -Ryan
What's better than a les paul? More les pauls. I went out to buy a 2nd hand guitar last week. Something different, good, barely played and cheap was the idea. Already have 3 of Epi's phoneys that I like . Didn't want another one. Shop had a bunch of shit, and 4 les paul and an sg. Thought I'd buy the sg. I didnt. Bought the 58 standard instead. Next day Thought i really should get a fender strat. I like them both. Later that day i couldn't resist trying the guitar you showed. It is better than the other les paul i have so bought that too. When i changed the strings the nut fell out. Sure id prefer Gibson but in Australia they are an absolute shit load more money to buy.
100% Agree! I have 14 Les Pauls at the moment! Can't beat them! I'm currently working on completing the VOS set from 54-61 (Just missing the '54 at the moment). Cheers -Ryan
