Well nowadays we have AI generated everything and it's only getting better and better. It's admissible in court and you have to prove it's not real....unfortunately our country has become the 4th Reich or the USSA.
They have become the investigation and enforcement arm of the deep state and the democrats. The rot is not contained at the top but goes all the way through. It needs to be dismantled and a smaller replacement made with a strict mandate, robust oversight over every dept and every penny accounted for and a narrow focus. They need to do the exact same with every one of the intelligence agencies. NSA especially needs to be reined in. People need to go to jail for their illegal spying.

Just prior to Brandon's inauguration my 86 year old mom was asking how phone surveillance worked. I told her everything was digitized, and the FBI had computers watching for certain words and phrases, then I gave two examples "Like, I want to blow up the inauguration, or I want to assassinate the Vice President." and if they hear them, then the phone number is red-flagged for greater scrutiny. A week later she had more questions, so I elaborated. When I said "I want to stop Joe Biden" there was an audible click, and suddenly there was an echo on the line. My mom asked "What was that?". I told her "That is the FBI, listening on the call." Then I went on "Hey FBI, you can relax. I'm a middle aged man in Seattle and my mom is 86. I'm just explaining how your phone surveillance works, and you guy need to up your game cuz we can hear you listening." Then there was another click and the echo went away. So yes, the FBI is listening to my phone calls.

I have a daughter who was majoring in Emergency Services, was taking Arabic, and had spent two sememster in two different Arabic-speaking countries to study the language for college credit. I am retired from the Navy, had spent time in the Arab world, and was a police officer. One evening we talked on the phone for over an hour, discussing what she was learning in school, a bit of my military history, what I was doing on 9-11 and the aftermath as everybody in town was reporting suspicious activity, her trips to Morocco and Jordan, my time in Oman and Bahrain, and somehow got off on the JFK assassination. At the end of the conversation I said "I wonder if the NSA was listening in." I'm still curious to see if I can get a copy of the recording.

I think about this a lot. From the perspective of an historian, I think about leaving an account of what we're going through, and WHY we act/react the way we do - KNOWING they'll have those questions. "Why did they....?" "Why didn't they...?" "How could they allow this to happen?" My primary inspiration was all those people who say "How could the German people let that happen?" and "If I were alive when (guy with mustache) came to power, I would have ....." "Yeah, sure you would. So what are your plans for today?"
I used to be a telephone engineer back in the 80s and 90s in the UK. The government/police sometimes used vans with our livery on them to monitor people visually and electronically. There was one place where we had a telephone cabinet that was opposite a church that used to give help to recovering drug addicts. It turned out to be where a massive amount of heroin dealing was going on, and they got busted, which was good. The only problem was, everytime you went to that cab you'd get abuse, spitting, verbal and sometimes physical abuse, because obviously the druggies would think you were a narc. I wouldn't of minded, but they didn't close the drug rehabilitation, the church, or give the engineers any warning that they had done an operation there. We only found out after an engineer nearly got stabbed. I was always a little bit more cautious working on street furniture after that.

Technically the FBI uses a computer to listen in on all calls (yes redundant to the NSA) and forwards anything that triggers a "flag" to be sent for review. If the agent reviewing confirms the flag the FBI puts your name on a list and they get wire tap approval, usually five thousand names at a time, from a Federal judge. There after a separate computer compiles all of your calls looking for prosecutable offenses. If they find something... nothing. Not unless they have some other reason to go after you and then the call records come out. About a quarter of the country is under this level of fishing for blackmail monitoring.

I did a test recently to see if devices were listening. I declared that I was looking for vintage bowling balls. I picked something that has no market and nobody is running ads etc. and yep, I got vintage bowling ball ads via paid sponsors on FB.
So we all know this was SUPPOSED to be facetious. BUT... ten years ago when my son was in school here, his American Sign Language class was visited by recruiters from the NSA. The NSA has a "data" center here, which looks like a MAMMOTH block house (imagine a building about three or four stories tall and about three times the size of a busy mall with no windows). Fun fact if you change your device every 90 days they have to get another warrant. So I have two Androids and I change them every 90 days back and forth. It's not about getting a warrant for your phone number they have to get a warrant for the actual device. Just sharing....
