Thank you for sharing your Guadalupe Peak summit experience with us! This one is definitely on our list! After watching, we have a better idea of what to expect before hiking it. Great job! 👍
Looked like an interesting trip and stay. lol. No sleep and that kind of hike would have done us totally in. Thanks for sharing and have a great rest of the week. Kent and Tami
Thank you so much!😄 We’ve both lived in Texas the majority of our lives and this was our first time over here! We recommend! (But maybe only this hike once 😉)
I am 66 and my wife just turned 65. We did the torturous climb to the top and back down on 11/10/22. The wind gusted to 70 mph on the way up and it was cold. My legs were gone after the hike.
Y'all are amazing!! 💪🏼Sounds like it was similar to our experience too! This hike was very hard and afterwards I said "never again!", but since doing this hike we've been able to experience other challenging hikes and now I want to go back and do this one again!!
We keep talking about camping but somehow we never end up going.. We really need to get some tents and do some old fashion camping. Drew you did it right bringing the blanket!
Oh how cool! We didn't have time to do this but we want to someday. That is a crazy about the animal. So cool that it is the highest peak!. Those views are worth it! WOW!
So windy! Did you have a wind sock for your camera? Also know as a “dead cat”? I got one when I realized some of my videos had too much wind noise and it helps a lot.
Yes soooo windy 😳😂 we actually just upgraded cameras! 🥳 now we have an external mic with a wind muff! that’s been one of our biggest cons to our videos lately is the audio issues so we are excited to do some improvement in the newer vids! But yeah it was wild - winds were 60 mph with up to 80mph wind gusts at the top
We were at the top of the Grand Canyon once when the wind really picked up like that. It was quite scary. I do not enjoy heights ever since that experience. So I would probably pass on this. We like hiking on flat land. Or perhaps on hills with no steep edges. But yall did a great job at getting to the peak in spite of the wind and heights and very little sleep. Kudos. Did you ever find the sammies?
Thank you so much! And yes it’s soooo scary when you feel like the wind is going to throw you off the edge 😂😭 Yes :) we eventually found my brother on his way down (about 30 mins ahead of us!!)
Omg nooo!?? Why was the tent so wet?? 😩 Also loved the spongebob reference 😂😂 Wowwww wind must have been so loud in that tent! 😯 Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙏🏼 the peak looked great!
🤣🤣 It’s wet because we had camped a few days earlier at palo duro canyon and it was frosty when we packed up So all the frost melted and left us with a wet tent 🥲 but it’s okay it dried in a matter of minutes with the wind! Thanks for watching y’all!
oh my goodness! that wind was intense!!! I feel you with the critters at night - not cool (~Andie). 🤣 that hike looked brutal, but the views are so worth it!
Awesome. I’m planning to go in next couple of months or so. What time of year (month) did you hike? Or I missed previous ones- I heard you mention snow flurries
Hey! We went in March but I believe it was an unusually cold year! (It snowed in parts of northern TX that week) It will definitely be cold at the top still! The wind was strong
Last year it was exceptionally windy from February all the way to July. Ridiculous!! I'm about to make this journey though pretty soon so I hope the winds are tame.
We LOVE a good hike despite any faces that you may see us make in any upcoming videos lol So this would be pretty fun aside from the crazy wind in the middle of the night 🙄
Hmm good question! I think the beauty of the scenes alone took away a lot of the fear☺️ It was not scary until a part near the top where you had to shimmy around a corner or rock and also the top where it was super windy Just being prepared with good shoes / equipment and having someone there with you to give you a hand We hope you love it! 💜
