This video is a detailed and comprehensive review of the Master Airbrush G233 set. This model comes with a .2, .3. and a .5mm needles and nozzles making it an excellent value airbrush. Within this buyer's guide we are looking at all the pros and cons of this airbrush. I'll also be comparing its spray pattern to the Iwata micron cm-b, eclpise, the micron takumi, sotar 20/20, the gsi creos ps-771, and others. Thanks for watching!

My first airbrush was a master airbrush, still works. Used it for 2 years with cleaning after every use, never had any issues. I even use lacquer and thinners and clean with acetone, still works.

All airbrush brands are very good its how you maintain them through use or when done and always clean them in between color changes and knowing how to reduce your paints and knowing how to regulate your air pressure. I hope this will help everyone.

I use mine regularly and it has been great. For serious paint jobs I use another brush, but I have used this one for a NLL competitive car and it performed well. I would recommend it in almost any case as I have come to rely on it for day to day painting. I bought a secomd just for primer and labeled it my primer gun.

Really loving your airbrush reviews, and they've definitely informed my own purchases - Since you've started making these I've picked up both an Iwata Micron and Eclipse Takumi. So thank you! I'd love to see you run your tests on some older or more esoteric airbrushes - The Paasche AB Turbo, a Testors Aztek, or even a Letraset Fischer (if you can find one).

Thank you - based on your review, this is the airbrush I'm moving to to get into the gravity-fed, dual action sphere. Until now, my two airbrushes have been a Badger 200 that I've been using for about 40 years and a Paasche SI set which came with 3 needles/heads that I've had for a couple years.

After years of using automotive spray guns like Sata, DeViibiss and Binks, i was excited to see an airbrush with a pistol grip like that. But i wasn't excited about the price. Then i seen a Master version of it for $75 and thought it was worth a try. I've been fairly pleased with them and the ease of use. I've used acrylics and solvent based paints with no issues as long as i did my part in keeping them clean. 😅

I have this airbrush, and have been pretty happy with it. I only use the .5 for priming, base coating, and varnishing miniatures though. My only complaint about it is cleaning. The cup isn't removable, and it can be difficult to clean the needle channel in the bottom. But fortunately it is a larger area than some other brushes, and q-tips can get in there rather easily. Some day I hope to get a better brush, but for the foreseeable future the G233 will do what I need it for.

I bought this same airbrush when I had first started along with the iwata neo. I didn't have very good luck with it but I'm sure it is a hit or miss with the quality in each brush. The .02 needle tip was bent straight out of the box and the .05 didn't seem to mesh with its corresponding nozzle. It was weird. Long story short im glad I had gotten the neo at the same time because that brush is pretty amazing for what it cost. Some of my experience with thre master might have been my inexperience at the time but anyway Great review as always

When I got started, I got a cheat no-name airbrush with the Avanti air compressor, then found that a compressor with a tank enabled smooth spray, so I got a VIVOHOME brush with that compressor. Since the airbrushes I saw online were under $20 & one under $10, I finally ended up with 5 cheap airbrushes. One brush was Point Zero, really not better than any of the others. These all operate very well, & when treating them like an expensive one, operate excellent. I have ordered name brand replacement parts like needles & nozzles and a plunger with attached trigger lever, which surprisingly was what 4 of the cheapy brushes came with. Only one .5mm nozzle/needle that came extra failed to work out of the box, but another .5 is excellent. In my opinion, there is no reason other than peace of mind to pay a lot for an airbrush, maybe I was lucky, but they all, except for the Point Zero, have a smooth trigger when properly lubricated.

If your going to use metallics I recommend using an airbrush that has 0.3 nozzle and needle or higher. The metallics or pearls will clog your 0.2 nozzle and sometimes damage your nozzle and needle.

The reason I like my Badger 155 Anthem is no tools required to disassemble or assemble. Floating nozzle. Guess I'm gonna get a smaller nozzle & needle for it as currently it's .5mm. Guess I need to get a gravity feed since I often use just the color cup for both my airbrushes. They're both siphon feed. The Harbor Freight Chinese one for lacquer paints and the Badger for acrylic paints. Cheers from eastern TN

Master are Chinese generic airbrushes which are sold under several brand names. The ones sold by Master tend to be a lot more expensive though quality is not better. In general these are good modelers airbrushes that work quite well with the 0.3mm nozzle and needle. This is best suited for enamel paints suitably thinned for use (50/50 paint to thinner). I payed $18 for a Royalmax that came with 3 different nozzle sets with tools and cleaning brushes. With gentle handling it has lasted several years with reasonably good performance. The down side is that the materials are inferior to US and Japanese products which are built for a lifetime of use. It is easy to strip threads as cheaper metals are used, tolerances are poor and so a whole lot of plastic washers are used in assembly to seal air and paint passages. But if you do bust your airbrush a replacement can be bought for as little as $10 on line.

Polishing a needle and sealing threads in less expensive airbrushes can do wonders. I've reached out for something better and put my trust into Creos range, 289, 771 and my newest 270 (which is a detail beast btw). Still, polishing makes them completely different brushes, even the sound when spraying is different. :)

I’ve only had 1, the iwata Neo and to me it seems really good. Took me a while to get the paint to flow properly but that was lack of experience. It came with a 2.5mm nozzle and does pretty good with detailing. I know I suck though cause I constantly have to go back over areas to fix blemishes. It’s a hard technique to master since it’s all about your finger control and steadiness. Love the brush though and would be interested at what a higher end one feels like.

I have almost all of the Point Zero airbrushes and they are all good fine detailed airbrushes at a very low prices and they are very very good fine detailed airbrushes and are just as good as the Iwata and Iwata microns. You just need to learn how to mix your paints. I use Nassan automotive paint and the mixing ratio is 1 to 1 which means half paint , half reducer or add alittle extra more reducer so you can get even finer spray and fine lines. I been airbrushing for almost 40 years. Most airbrush brands of expensive or medium price or low price airbrushes are very good. You just need to know how to mix your paints and your air pressure. 1 is to know how to mix your paints. Usually it's half paint ,half reducer 2 is to have a aircompressor with a tank from 3 gallon to 30gallon aircompressor and have the air pressure set from 35 to 50 air pressure. For fine lines about 25 psi. 3 and always clean your airbrush between colors by running reducer or thinner and you need a airbrush cleaning pot so it can clean the needle nozzle tip.

These are just the standard $25 airbrushes but with a name engraved on the side for an extra $20. I've got a SOTAR 2020, an Infinity CR+, AND a cheap POS airbrush like this. The cheap POS airbrush does do a decent enough job of priming, base coat and varnishes on scale models for me to use it on a regular basis. Get one of the $25 ones and polish the needle up; put the $20 you saved towards something else. You don't need the cutout on the sides either, if your airbrush is blocking up on a regular basis, then you're doing something wrong.

The cutout is not for cleaning out clogs... the cutout allows for you to adjust the relationship between the needle and the collet that's holding it. this allows for your "dead band" to be greater also limiting the max amount of needle pull back. Who told you it was for clearing plugs?

If it works as well as the more expensive ones then it makes the expensive one a rip off. The minor things you mentioned about the master brush are all irrelevant if it it sprays as well as the iwata. Yould have to be a snob or just a fan boy to say the iwata is better. I've had mine for several years and aside from replacing small things like orings and needles that wear out or get lost, I've never missed the overpriced models.

No need to keep apologizing for a Master airbrush. I bought a Harder & Steenbeck NEW EVOLUTION 2024 CRPlus Solo and it’s a disaster which, if I’m lucky sorays paint about 40% of the time. What a waste of money. It’s doing much better as a paperweight. My old Master airbrush, despite lacking the burnished image, works better and more reliably than the H& S.

You can give a person the most expensive airbrush made, and if they are ignorant about airbrushing, they will fail! Same thing with a cheap airbrush and ignorance, fail. It’s more important to know about nozzle size and what paints they can handle, then what airbrush you use! To understand what paints you are going to use and how to use said paints is the #1 thing to know, cheap paints, pearls, inks, metallics, etc. no one airbrush made will handle them all, with clarity and control and detail, understanding paints is way more important then what airbrush to use! NOZZLE SIZE DICTATES WHAT PAINTS CAN BE USED!

You can get 5 Master airbrushes for the price of one Iwata. As tempting as that is, it's still not a good deal. All 5 of your Master airbrushes will wear out loooong before one Iwata will. Master airbrushes are trash, I tried them just for acrylic hobby painting, they couldn't hold up to regular cleaning, if you tried them for automotive paint, you'd get maybe one or two uses out of them before the cleaning solvent ate them completely up..
