Is the Holy Spirit a Real Person? (Trinity True or False?) 

Entire book of Revelations clearly show Jesus speaking and acting as the Spirit to the church is including laodicea our church. He is the Holy Spirit. John's vision shows there are only two thrones in heaven which all fhe universe bows down to. It is Satan trying to inject himself into the Godhead via the pagan unknown 3rd god. Is the Holy Spirit a person? Absolutely, it is Jesus Christ, the same Spirit from God. There's only one mediator comforter and helper to us that's Jesus Christ our Lord.

Pastor Finley, according to Scriptures and SOP there are only two divine beings: the Father and the Son, and not three. And concerning the Holy Spirit the Scriptures tell us that it is the Spirit of the Father and of the Son, and not a separate being from the Father and the Son. (Please study John 14:1, 17:3, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Corinthians 3:17, Galatians 4:6 and 1 John 2:22.)

Dear Pastor Mark, The Lord used you many years ago to bring me to Christ. My life has been forever changed and I am grateful for that. As I watched your video I came away very saddened. It seemed to me that the main take away is that if someone does not believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person that makes up the one God, if they believe that the Holy Spirit is anything other than that, and if they don’t give up that belief and repent and accept the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Godhead (Trinity), that eventually they will grieve away the Holy Spirit and commit the unpardonable sin. This is a serious position to take. This leads to condemnation and ultimately judging ones salvation. Also, it appears that you have a misunderstanding of what the vast majority of those who don’t believe that the Holy Spirit is a person separate from the Father and Son, really believe. The the Holy Spirit is just what the Bible says the “Spirit of God” not a force. My husband and I were disfellowshiped and shunned over this doctrine not because of anything we had done, but because of fear of what we might say or do. My husband and I are of the older generation and was not baptized when the church believed God was a Trinity. We were not taught that God is a Trinity as it was long before 1981 when the churches fundamental belief was changed and officially voted in at the GC session. I thank you for the years of dedication in bringing souls to Christ. Now I ask that you prayerfully inquire of God if your message in that video was according to His will. No being can spilt himself up and be present in millions of places at the same time. The Father is in heaven and the Son is in heaven, and they both have backs , faces, heads, hands etc. The Holy Spirit is the representative of Christ on earth, brought to us by the angels. I have studied for years on this subject, I once went with the church but upon study, the church is wrong. So many people believes what someone else says but don’t do a deep study for themselves. Don’t trust man for your salvation, trust the Words of God. There is no place in the Bible that says Trinity. And most of the time it says, “The Spirit of God.” The Bible says there is only One God and One begotten Son. There are not 3 Gods. Pastor Mark, I would like some clarification on Matthew 28:19, that you read at 33:15 in your video, the text that you put up on the screen was from the KJV. But when you quoted it you change the wording to “in the name of the Father and in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit”, which is not how the text reads. As I look back in history according to Eusebius the original reading of Matthew 28:19 was as follows, “with one word and one voice He said to His disciples: Go, and make disciples of all nations in My name, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you,” this was changed in the 4th century during the time of the council of Nicaea. It was at that time that a number of new doctrines were brought into the church and the Roman Catholic was being established. It’s interesting that all Baptisms in the book of Act were done in the name of Jesus or of the Lord but not once in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. In your sermon you changed the wording to include “the name”, of in front of the Son and the Holy Spirit. I have to ask you if it wouldn’t serve your purpose better if you change Matthew 28:19 to read “in the name of God the Father and in the name of God the Son and in the name of God the Holy Spirit”, but in so doing we have violated scripture by adding to or taking away from God’s word. If you do that you could establish the Trinity Doctrine. I for one will not grieve the Holy Spirit of God and of Christ by giving it to another! Jesus give me grace and endurance this Christmas. As a single mother my number one priority, are my sons. Both of them are autistic so they require a lot from me. God give me strength as I struggle to provide for them. My faith in you is still strong! Even as I struggle to pay rent every month and I struggle to buy groceries for my children, I KEEP FAITH in you LORD. The Holy Spirit is referred to as Him, He because, He is the Spirit of God the Father and Jesus Christ and they, the Father and Son are masculine! The bible reference is always to the spirit of God and the spirit of Christ, NEVER God the Holy Spirit. Some would like to believe that "God" and "Lord" are synonyms. This is how they attempt to harmonize 1 Corinthians 8:6 with their Trinity dogma, for it says: "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." However, a comparison of Matthew 22:32 with Romans 14:9 should lay to rest any notion of God = Lord. Consider the evidence for yourselves. "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." (Matthew 22:32) "For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living." (Romans 14:9) God is not the God of the dead, but Christ is Lord of the dead. The Bible teaches plainly that there is a distinction between these terms, and they are not the same being. (Remember, Ellen White says "God is a being."). In fact, the "and" in Greek ("kai"), can be used to separate between two separate entities, as it does in 1 Corinthians 8:6. Had the writer wished to equate them, a separate, more poetic conjunction, could have been used or added, which is "te" in Greek. Putting the two words together, i.e. "τε καὶ", creates an expression which places the two things on a level with each other--and this is often translated as "both." But the Father is not _both_ our God and our Lord, nor is Jesus _both_ our Lord and our God. The father is "the only true God" (John 17:3), and Jesus is our Lord.

NO! The CUP was NOT all the physical and emotional suffering which awaited Jesus! It was not the beating and turning away of his people and his mother and the crown of thorns... none of all these! Many martyrs endured ALL of these and did not ask this cup of suffering be removed from them! For Jesus, the CUP was the bearing of the SINS of the whole world! He was to be separated from His Father because of that CUP bringing the real death to him, not just the sleep of the first death ... and THAT was unbearable to him! But Jesus said ... I will drink it nevertheless, because THY will be done, O Father! But praise be to God! The Innocent one could not be held by death! The sins were not his, they could not be held against Him ... They stayed at the entrance of death and could not retain him under its power! God, the Father, the only true God RAISED his beloved, innocent, self-sacrificed Son! And Jesus came out from death to life with our HOPE: I am the resurrection and the life! Let us believe in the only true God and in His only begotten Son, the divine Son, Jesus! Amen!

Pastor, if you said the Holy Spirit is the voice if God, that speaks to us then how is the Holy Spirit is a separate person from the father?

"And this IS eternal life that you KNOW the ONE true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent." John 17:3. There is NO other. SDAs may not be aware that the official written statement of the Adventist church claims that 'Jesus is NOT the natural, literal Son of God,' per the Bible Research Institute. Why? Because if you believe in the trinity doctrine, it also claims that Christ, the Son of God was never begotten from God the Father. The gospel is plain simple and literal. But the Pharisees of this day have twisted truth a child can understand using human philosophy and their own satanic doctrine. If you think how Christians vehemently defend the literal creation by God of man and woman when it comes to society's debate of human identity, yet fail to stand on the simple Bible truth of God, Jesus' God and Father, sent Christ to save us. Where is the love and power of the Gospel if it is all role-playing and metaphors?

You already know he's lying when he misrepresents and lies about the correct BIBLICAL view and beliefs of those he's opposing. Just the fact that the Holy Spirit is of God and Christ makes the Spirit all powerful. Not a nameless god. It is the unpardonable sin because if you knowingly reject truth in the Bible that the Spirit is from God and even EG White states that Christ Is the Holy Spirit, then how can Christ save you?

Brethren, please note that Dr William Johnsson (an Australian Seventh-day Adventist theologian, author, and editor of the Adventist Review from 1982 to 2006) wrote the following: ‘Adventists beliefs have changed over the years under the impact of ‘present truth’. Most startling is the teaching regarding Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord … the Trinitarian understanding of God, now part of our fundamental beliefs, was not generally held by early Adventists’. (William Johnsson, Adventist Review, 6th January 1994, Article: ‘Present Truth - Walking in God’s Light’).

The Holy Spirit of God is God himself not some force… I have never heard a person argue that that Gods Holy Spirit is a force and that is not what the pioneers believed either … this is a gross misunderstanding or MISREPRESENTATION of the belief that the spirit of God is his own person!!! And it is not that hard to understand! He is misrepresenting- again as all those who don’t want to understand the spirit of God…. Who would be the four highest beings in Heaven before the fall of man (before sin) if the Holy Spirit was a third co-equal being as per the Trinity doctrine? It would be the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and Lucifer. Who is it that wants to be like the most High and be worshipped and prayed to as God? (Isaiah 14:12-14) What if the Holy Spirit was not a third literal being. Who would then be the third highest being? Lucifer! So if the Holy Spirit is not a third literal being, a separate God, then who would be answering our prayers if we prayed to the “Spirit”? Who would be setting himself up as a third “God” worthy of praise and worship? Has Satan succeeded in accomplishing his goal of being included as a deity? If we now believe the Holy Spirit can be worshipped and prayed to just like the Father and the Son, who actually receives our worship? If the Holy Spirit is not a third being then whose spirit would we have according to our belief and who would we be giving our adoration to? For Adventists: Before sin - “Among the inhabitants of heaven, Satan, next to Christ, was at one time most honored of God, and highest in power and glory.” - (E.G. White, ST, July 23, 1902) The Spirit of Prophecy confirms that Satan did use to be the third highest being in Heaven. Not a third being called the Holy Spirit as the Trinity doctrine claims. Since the trinity doctrine claims Jesus is also the one God, an Adventist author from the 1800's wrote, “To believe that doctrine, when reading the scripture we must believe that God sent Himself into the world, died to reconcile the world to Himself, raised Himself from the dead, ascended to Himself in heaven, pleads before Himself in heaven to reconcile the world to Himself, and is the only mediator between man and Himself… We must believe also that in the garden God prayed to Himself, if it were possible, to let the cup pass from Himself, and a thousand other such absurdities.” - (J.N. Years ago I was driving north on the M1. I was in the car by myself. A voice near my the left ear. In a man's voice, whom I never recognised to me to get out of that lane. I was surprised but carried on. Again the voice told me to get out of that lane, but this time more louder and in a determined voice. This time I listened. I thought it was my guardian angel. Why does Mark Finley stand in front of a phoenix mural? And by doing so, what is he attempting to communicate? The phoenix bird symbolizes immortality, and life after death. As a 4th generation 7th Day Adventist, I am excited for the times we are living in. Who would've thought that we were living in the end of times? Come Lord Jesus, come!!!

No, because it is through the agency of His Spirit that Jesus communicates with us. 1 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV) For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man 👉🏼which is in him? 👈🏼even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Proverbs 20:27 (KJV) The spirit of man 👉🏼is the candle 👈🏼of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. The spirit of a person is a manifestation of who they are. Even so is Christ’s Spirit. The problem I see with Pastor Finley, and now Wohlberg is that they are hard pressed to have an impartial view on this teaching. And I think most of us should understand that and pray for them. They may have found themselves fighting against God.

Pastor Mark Finely, I enjoy listening to your sermons, but I have to say that you left out the most important information which is found in the Bible, There is specific bible verses that addresses Pharisees accusing Jesus of performing miracles through the power of Satan and the warning about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can be found in Matthew 12:22-32 (ESV): **Accusation by Pharisees:** Matthew 12:22-24: "Then a demon-oppressed man who was blind and mute was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the man spoke and saw. And all the people were amazed, and said, 'Can this be the Son of David?' But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, 'It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.'" **Jesus' Response and Warning:** Matthew 12:25-32: "Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?...But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you... Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.'" These passages emphasize the seriousness of attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to evil forces and the associated warning against blasphemy.

Why is Mark talking about the Spirit of God as another being and person? Doesn't God have these attributes? Or do we make God into an unknown, unpersonal God? The Spirit of God, comes to the true believer now as the Spirit of Christ.

God Himself is a Holy Spirit John 4:24, and never in the scripture mentioning "God the Holy Spirit. John 14:18 Christ says "I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you." Min 35:14 - Pr. Mark reffers to the Holy Spirit as "it". Yet he emphasised that the Spirit is a person because he is called "he" mor ethan 10 times in John 16. Yet the Pr. Is correct when calles the Spirit "it". For in Romans 8:16, 8:26 we find epression like " The Spirit ITSELF ". and 1 Pet 1:11 says "it" too referring to the Spirit. Desire of Ages that he's read in Page 805.3 also says "it" about H.S. And the author of the book repeats that countless times including her other best seller book The Great Controversy . If you keep referring to the H.S as an "it" its because youve read your bible. You see if you just read your bible without being aware of this trinitarian Controversy you'll just find your using "it" for the HS effortlessly, without thinking much about it and without feeling that its wrong. Truth is you can use both "He" and "it" for the the Holy Spirit. Both are Biblical. Question is can you call the Father or the Son it? The Holy Spirit is NOT a PERSON, simply because sometimes it is referred to as HE. ( See - JOHN 14:26 ) Personification is very common in various languages. It means .. (referring to something impersonal or inanimate as if it were alive) That's because according to the rules of Greek grammar .. A masculine noun requires a masculine pronoun and .. A feminine noun requires a feminine pronoun. [ Any one who has ever taken Spanish knows this very well ] EXAMPLES: ( Do you believe the wind and sea are both PEOPLE, simply because the Bible says they OBEYED Jesus ? ) MATTHEW 8:27 " So the men were amazed and said: "What sort of person is this? Even the winds and the sea OBEY him" ( Do you believe that the city of Jerusalem is a WOMAN, simply because the Bible keeps on calling it SHE / HER ? ) ZEPHANIAH 3:1 - 2 1 " Woe to the rebellious, the polluted, the oppressive city!" 2 "She has obeyed no voice; she has accepted no discipline. In Jehovah she has not trusted, she has not drawn near to her God." Clearly, the Holy Spirit is NOT a person, .. Just as the wind, and the sea are NOT people and the city of Jerusalem is NOT a WOMAN !!

SOP says Jesus is the Comforter confess our sins to Christ Christ cleanses us. Why tell us about Greek word? What power does that have.?? All your descriptions of the Holy Spirit is also applied to Christ. How and what do I do with. SOP she didn't support trinity she used the word Godhead. Why are you using term trinity? That has a different definition than of the Godhead. Are we catholics? Ask the papacy what is the definition of the trinity, I promise you will never use that word again. The church has so many different definitions. I'm keeping my eyes on Christ and He holds me.

Show me one place in the bible where the so-called third person of the Godhead "god the holy spirit" sits on a throne and receives worship. Have you ever read the book of Revelation? We see the Father and His Son alone receive worship throughout the book of Revelation. Shame on Adventists who claim to be preaching the three angels message without knowing the God we are commanded to fear, give glory to, and worship.

And no need of making mention the HOLY SPIRIT to give praise and honor , but only to reverend as what you did to the eternal FATHER, and do not mock His acts and works and moves , and this the way you reverend HIM because the Holy Spirit is IN THE FATHER, COZ THAT IS HIS MIND,,,THE PRESENCE,,,, AND HIS POWER,

What I've taken away from this is that you think the holy spirit is a person because the bible says he's the third person of the god head and he's referred to as "he" a lot. The problem is that the holy spirit doesn't seem to have a character in the way that persons do and that seems like a real issue because he's the one it seems like we're supposed to be able to have the most first hand dealings with. Also, force can absolutely guide you. That's literally how compasses work. This is pretty difficult because the bible is already written poetically and this can be just a poetic way of talking about a force. I'm sure this is heretical, but I almost think the holy spirt could just be the consciousness that resides in people. You know when you're lying. You know that when you're not lying, you're not speaking from your own authority, but from what you've heard, which is going to be what you honestly believe is true if you're taking everything you've heard into consideration. It makes a whole lot more sense in the light of the understanding of angels, archangels, demon, devils, etc. that I believe is presented in "Malleus Maleficarum", which is essentially that they exist as components or sets of components of the human mind; they're the internal things that drive you and the thinking tools you've developed over you're life. The holy spirit could be the observer, the I, the tiny fragment of divinity in the midst of the angels and demons that cannot truly deceive itself. That makes more sense to me than anything else I've heard about what the holy spirit is.

The Word of God is the spirit of God speaking to us. God by his spirit makes his purpose in the world take place through his word , through the angels. The holy spirit is the power by which his will is carried out. His word doesn't return to God void or not done! If God speaks his word is done within the time God has stated it should be! If the holy spirit is a person? Where's the power of God come from to create the universe & maintain it ever sincere as well as his clearly stated purpose in jesus christ. The Holy spirit was a comfort to the apostles in the sense that their message was backed up by miracles, wonders & signs! Less personal anecdotes & more scripture proof of the content would be far more convincing...the guilt you had on the incident/ story was your guilty conscience not the direct message from the holy spirit!
