Thanks for posting this review. I'm looking at buying a 500X for a tour from England to the Nordkapp & fuel range is one of my priorities,also it's good to see how far the bike will travel when running on reserve.I also think the Honda would take more luggage & be a better choice of bike on gravel roads than my Street Triple 675R. Lets hope we can all get back to some kind of 'normal' this year...

I had the previous 17 inch wheel model, and wish I still had it. Great bike , prior to the cb500x I had an AfricaTwin with dct gear box. The CB is a better bike . I have a triumph speed twin now so a different thing entirely but I will change the Triumph soon and am seriously considering the CB500 X again because it's so good. It's not fast, but fast enough, maneuverable and fun. I recommend it highly.

Very good explanation. I drive this bike, too. I went with my CB500X from Austria all the way down to the greek island of Kefalonia. I was very happy with it. You didn't quote, that you can equip this bike easily with auxiliary stuff, like navigation devices, heated grips, rear bags, tank bags, saddle bags and so on...!

The CB500x is now , One off the best bikes out there. We can upgrade it for a better street experience or off road experience . With 2000€ equipment you can have a bike for everything you want on and off road ,as for adventure long trips.

The problem I have with riding my bike to work is I don't want to stop when I get there. But the ride home is whatever you want it to be. Those are nice commuter bikes though and with a few mods make for some pretty good touring.

Hi Thomas Happy New Year to you thanks for a good review once again . Thanks for covering the riding in the reserve I can say you're the only one I've ever heard mention the reserve on bikes and how far it can go so good one . The bike has a great fuel range if ridden in the appropriate manner it was intended for but at the same time very versatile if needed to be . A fun bike to ride.

Hi Thomas! Happy New Year to you! 🙂 Good review which can still only convince on the advantages of this bike. 👍 I hope that 2021 will be for me the year of the motorcycle license and of a beautiful CB500X in my garage. Curently I am commuting with a Honda Forza 125 🛵 and although I am equipped as a biker my colleagues don't consider me as such. 🙁 As for the quote: Bruce "Mc Lane" Willis in Die Hard (1988). @thebrightrider
@thebrightrider 3 года назад
Never done so many km in one day on a bike, but I think I would cut it in 2 because I think more than a 1000km on the highway on any bike is a gonna be a painfull struggle. It also depends how tall you are - which angle your knees are in, because that’s the first thing that starts hurting for me

The Honda Forza 300/350 is the ideal commuter vehicle, consumption 2.5-3 liters / 100 km. Very very fast. There are no motorcycles up to 500 cc that can keep up.
@thebrightrider
@thebrightrider 3 года назад
Scooters are probably even better for commuting, true :) never ridden one
@jeffruebens8355
@jeffruebens8355 3 года назад
Scooters in the 200 to 400cc range are very good for beginners because there are no shift and clutch levers to learn, you just focus on the throttle, steering and braking. Also lots of luggage space, and often more protection for your clothes from rain and road grime. They often cost more new than a similar sized regular motorcycle.
