CORRECTION: in this episode we misspoke 2 things, 1 - this color is not specific to the Trailsport. 2 - the excellent iVTM4 awd system is standard on all Ridgeline trims. Sorry for that and thanks for watching!
I’ll never understand why Honda did not slightly lift their Trailsport models like the Subaru Wilderness models! 😑 It has a good Awd system, just so dang low.
I just traded my 22 RTL in today for a 25 Trailsport / blaock on black. I did not intend to trade today, but I was there to get a slow passenger window fixed, a rear glass replaced because it rattled, a recall fixed and an oil change in anticipation of a 220 mile drive to Colorado next month. I saw it sitting there and I just had to open the door. First thing I noticed was the full center console armrest and the cup-grabbers in the cup holder. Then it went on to the newer cluster and bult in nav... Honda listens to it's customers. They improved the things I'd learned to hate and changed nothing that I really liked about the old one. Honestly, i think that they were focusing on maintaining fuel mileage ratings and that extra height adds drag. I do understand folk's feelings about it though, if they're boasting a trail sport badge. I'm just experiencing so many improvements in this truck that I'm good with it like it is. I may get creative in Colorado... peace!
Ivtm4 is standard in all ridgelines, it's not specific to the trails port model. I don't believe the trails port has any additional modes that the other trims have (normal, mud, sand, snow). The trailsport largely just has different tuned suspension, better tires and the small skid plate, other than that the other trims are equally capable. Also note that for 2024, honda eliminated the "in bed audio" feature on all trims. I think the trailsport was a bit of a miss for the Ridgeline, they could have done much more. I'm in the process of ordering a full set of skid plates for my 2023 RTL-E and lifting it 1.5" front and rear. Once my tires wear out I'll be going with a slightly larger tire (265 is the largest you can go no matter how much it's lifted). Stock size is 245
I like you videos but... everytime you get momentum to top the obstacle you applied brakes and stopped the ridgeline from completing its task. leveling kit and this truck is perfect for 90% of "truck" drivers.
The Sonic Gray Pearl is available in all Ridgeline trims for an additional $455. If you are going to do a review get your facts together. Didn’t watch the rest of the video because if you make an incorrect claim in the beginning then no need to watch the rest.
You are correct, we had that mixed up with another vehicle. We are sorry this threw you off, you missed the best part of this video. Thanks for watching.
Dudes who have insecurities in man card will hate this truck but 90% of them who own those big pos truck dont even tow or go off road willing to pay $80 for gas just to drive around town 😂
@@RedmanLS3 my confidence is solid. It’s not a real truck because it’s not a body on frame build, it does not offer 4x4, no rear lockers, no solid rear axel, & no skid plate protection. Real world people shop this vehical against the Maverick & Santa Cruz, & not against real trucks like the Colorado, Ranger, & Tacoma
@smittysmitty481 dude we all know that. It's a small truck and was never design to complete with big trucks. It still a truck. people talk shit about it because it's a honda but not the ugly ford merrick because it's a ford. I'll pick the ridgeline over any pos small ford truck all day. At the end I will have better reliability and value while the ford are garbage. This Coming from a gm guy
The vid is just a "hey, lets see what it can do" kind of thing. Obviously you wouldn't buy this if your intent is to any serious off-roading. But using it for what it's intended for, it blows away a minivan or SUV in terms of utility. Even bests other mid-size pickups in some ways, like being able to load a sheet of 4x8 material flat.
Makes sense. When stability control is on it disengage the clutch when it senses a slip. Disabling the stability control is like working the all wheel without cutting the power when it senses slip. The same with Acura SH-AWD.
@Marbind I just looked it up. I guess the pilot has the "trail torque logic" which is more advanced software than the passport and the ridgeline (trail sport trims). But yes..same hardware.
@ChesterSm-ge1hb I am not young, I remember black and white TV and rotary telephones. I have grand kids... do you seriously expect anyone to believe you can tell how old someone is over the internet? You're silly.
A light duty crossover. Not intended to do truck things like off road or real work. Good for what it is but nothing more than a grocery getter or home depot runs.
@user, simple solution; don’t work. Do as I do, ski, fish, play golf, play tennis. I pull an Oliver Elite, pontoon boat as well as a drift boat and of course my wife’s groceries..
