Is The Inverted Scales the AEG to Change Competitive? 

Or just fire from open bolt like most other AEB. The added lag from open bolt is very small.

I was thinking that purely for realism. I mean there’s a reason that’s how real guns work, but still 😂

how would that work.... none of my airsoft aeg's have a feature like that.

You said it. These need to be kept to a separate league, I would hate to see the hobby get banned from public play because of blasters like these. I fear the day someone invents a reliable Proton Pack for Stefans and the sport turns into Airsoft 2.

​@aesopsaintours4491 so u want a cap on innovation?...this is absolutely the direction the hobby NEEDS to go in. The only concern that I agree on is the aesthetic and mostly color choice. But just paint it bright neon pink with highlighter green accents and a bright orange tip and your good to go. Lately modders have even gotten flywheelers in the 250fps range and it'a amazing. Airsoft is only not public-play acceptable bc of littering (hard to recoup bbs) and the real steel look of them. Then paintball is illegal publicly because of C02 and paint being a littering/vandalism issue. There's no law on public safety due to performance or projectile speed. That's all just up to your locally agreed upon gameplay rules. With that being said..why not continue to innovate and push it? No matter how hard it hits, the general public and also law enforement will always see bright colored blasters and see the field littered with foam darts and associate it with harmless nerf TOYS with no cause for concern ...unless you manage to shoot an eye out of a random passer-by an it somehow makes news headlines...but then again the same freak accident could happen with a stock nerf gun with a foam projectile aimlessly launched in the air

@@En1gmatic1 absolutely I want a cap on innovation, I don’t know what’s so ridiculous about that. Certain blasters are fun to play with and against, and others are like bringing a garden hose to a water balloon fight. It becomes an arms race and the loser is fun.

@aesopsaintours4491 it looks like 150 minimum is the new standard with most clubs having stock DZPs at minimum with performance. I argue that I have been "that guy" who brought an FDL3 and a Sweetheart AEB to a local war running strictly off the shelf blasters, but even I still got taken out by the other blasters...i argue it's still based on skill once you get past 150 fps. But i get maybe keeping a 100fps cap for straight up toy grade off the shelf nerf stuff, if you really wanted to

I think the Nerf hobby community in general is trying to reject these high-performance blasters. They don't like anything that hits higher than 200fps, and get mad anytime something looks lesser than a brightly-colored toy. It's a shame, there's so much potential in the high-performance range. Whoever dials in the price-to-performance ratio with a great AEB is going to spearhead the hobby while also making a lot of money in the process.

I don't understand the reasons not to like it. As long as the blasters can continue to look like toys and darts can be recouped to avoid littering, there's absolutely no reason for concern. The hobby purists need to realize EVERYTHING will always advance to faster/stronger. But as long as random passer-by people see bright ass colored "toy gun" and foam darts everywhere, then the general perception will always be: "oh it's just a bunch of people playing with safe toys"

I agree. I also feel like AEGs shouldn't be allowed in typical games where everyone else is using flywheelers and single shot springers because they're an entirely different class of blaster. It's like racing a car against a jet plane

It really wouldn't even be that bad as long as event organizers ban these from nerf events where people are using regular blasters. That way the fun won't be ruined by one person showing up with something overpowered. If these become more popular hopefully there will be dedicated AEG events to keep the two separate because in my opinion AEGs at a regular nerf game (even with pro blasters) is extremely unfair to everyone else

​@@bigdapramirez6157 Most places here just use a muzzle energy limit which is lower for full auto and it doesn't matter if its flywheel or AEB so long as it don't break the energy limit per dart. The last game I played was 90 m/s (about 300 fps) for single-fire and semi-auto, and 48 m/s (about 160 fps) for full-auto or burst, and about 1/3 of the FA blasters were AEBs of some kind.

Our club has 7 Sweetheart storms currently My LN01/inverted scales arrives this coming week. They're not dominating the playing field, like any blaster they have pros/cons - no different than flywheels vs springers - just a matter of learning how to play against them. Hasn't taken the fun out for the caliburn crew, talon claw crew, flywheelers, Ok so it's taken the fun out for those rocking stock stryfes but...

@smittzero8463 (a) invered scales is readily available from many stores. (b) "Prototpe ban" is not really justifiable since most of the commuity is using equally janky 3d prints with no electrical safety features. Have you ever seen a Gryphon with an electrical cut-out in case of a motor jam?

Some of it is due to aesthetic preference, but a lot of the reasoning boils down to performance. After decades of refinement, weapons manufacturers have perfected the form factor and precision of firearms. If you want a higher-performance blaster, well, it's going to resemble a gun.

@@RobertButler1 No, he means make it look like like a scifi gun or something. There's plenty of scope for that still. For example there's a nerf blaster with a dinosaur head over the end of the barrel. Doesn't affect ballistics at all.
