I don't look at them bikes as beginner bikes I look at it as the people that have tried all the big 300 KTMs and Husqvarna that have found out they're way more bite than they need or can handle and end up getting a 2:30 and having a hell of a lot more fun
It's a great mid-level trail /fun bike. Mean mid-level by its better then usual engine size & suspension quality for its class. The CRF250F has pitiful suspension. -Ohio
Is it normal to have something break every time u fall on most dirtbikes? Because i just got my 2021 klx 230r and fell on my shifter and my bike wont shift. Now we have to split the transfer case to fix the transmission
That is all dependent upon what you fall on and how hard you fall. I’ve fallen on my Husqvarna dozens of times and only broken one rear light bulb. The particular crash in this case on the KLX sent the bike head-over-heals off a boulder into a big rock, so that was pretty extreme.
My son was on the KLX 230R. He's actually bigger than me. He's about 5'11" and 170 lbs. The KLX 230R is a full sized bike. It actually has a taller seat height than my Husky FE 250 in the video which I have a lowering link on.
I haven't had any issues with the bike consuming oil. I don't have anywhere near 5,000 km (3,100 miles) on the bike though. I'd say it only has about 200 or so miles (321 km) on it, so we'll have to see.
My bike leaked oil from overflow new. Turns out the spring holding the oil filter was in wrong. It stopped leaking after first oil change when I installed spring properly.
@@brianblack546 holy smokes that is sketchy. My first bike was a klx300r and I remember the first time changing the oil noticing that doing that spring incorrectly would cause catastrophic engine damage. Lucked out and good catch!
@@carlatamanczyk3891 the suspension on it is not that great when you compare it to the suspension on my Husqvarna FE 250. It's about 1/3 the cost of my Husky too, so that's to be expected.
