I loved playing this board game as a kid. I wish to this day that my grandma hadn't thrown it out. I still have some of the pieces floating around in my stuff. Great video too.
Great review! We lucked out and found one at a local convention, complete, for about $50. The top is caved in just a bit, but it's otherwise in fantastic shape. We've also taken to collecting the arcade board games. It's incredible what they were, ahem, "creative" enough to make into tabletop gaming.
i would be really interested to see a new board game as complicated as Ticket to Ride or Battlestar Galactica to see if it would catch on in board game culture today.
Interesting 🤔, I never knew this game existed. Thanks for shedding some light on this. I may be a big Zelda fan and enjoy a good board game but I think I'll pass on this one.
except...there's no artificial intelligence watching you. you can make the game stock difficult or raise or drop it. you can make new rules or weapons (white and master sword upgrades), as well as new items taken either from zelda 2 or snes zelda or the newer games and make kind of a crossover/time travel thing. lot of possibilities. point is the game need not be difficult or frustrating or outdated. it can be upgraded and/or combined with modern day gaming elements to fit into the paper pencil genre of yore.
I was just looking at it from the retail aspect of it but you make an excellent point. You totally can expand this to suit your needs. Thanks for that!
The Japenese version is better and a way more of an in-depth version of this game. You can find a pdf translation of it to download for free (bourd, figures and all). Its called Hyrule Fantasy, check it out.
