@@abcd-hw8io well, even if its a chemical or a plant, I still think it’s highly unlikely to find a cure-all in one thing. You know what’s looking promising in medicine lately? The microbiome. The bacteria in our guts have been linked to all sorts of diseases, skin problems, cancer, autism, you name it, the mechanisms by which they’re linked are complicated and all, but simply put, if we could get the perfect microbiome via a pill or something, I think we’d potentially be able to alleviate and/or prevent a lot of health issues at once, not necessarily all though. It’s a really exciting field.

@@aqeelshauqi8368 Nope. Not easier except he didn't go through the "teenage attitude" phase because he wasn't hanging out with high school kids. The parents' lives revolve around their child as they try to keep him stimulated and, as he said, "facilitate" his educational advancement. It's easier to get help for a child with a learning disability than it is to convince schools that your 10yo child is bored silly in their age-appropriate grade.

I've been wanting to see an update on this guy for the longest time. There just seemed to be something different about him, even compared to other child prodigies. I thought Oprah would end up having the same sort of friendship with him that she had with Mattie Steponick. She said she'd have him on the show every year, but only had him on, like twice I think. Whatever happened with that? Maybe he didn't want to go on the show all the time? I wonder if he's ever had any neuroscientist interested in studying him to see what they could find out about his unusual learning abilities? Wouldn't it be the ultimate irony if the genetic phenomena he studies is actually the explanation for his genius?
