I played the Emerald Steel Deck at the 10K Tournament in ATL with the Under the Sea! And let me tell you... It freaking worked against 3 opponents! The surprise factor of Avalanche and UTS was so effective that they were all caught off guard by it. I destroyed so many Queens Castle. Thanks for the shout out! I really enjoy your channel!
Fun side story. Chin and I ID'd last Swiss round. When I saw the deck lists that night, I was kind of glad we did. Don't think I would have seen that one coming. :)
@@AlphosNZ 100%. Im re-editing my deck to surprise more players. I gotta find a way to deal with Ruby Amethyst because the Floodborn discarding tactic is not enough dwindle down their hand. Too much draw power for them. More to come!
The 6th place list was mine. Was cool seeing it on the channel. Always enjoy watching your videos. The tweaks to standard were pretty straight forward. Queen's Castle has been big around Atlanta. As for just diablos and cove for 1 drop, I got tired of drawing the one drops in the mid to late game when I want to see songs and the bigger characters. And lastly, to be honest, I think 3 copies of Tinkerbell is the correct answer in this deck. But I only have 4 copies and my girlfriend has 3 of them in her deck. The things we do for love. Keep up the good work Alphos! Oh and Chen said he pulled off the Under the Sea play 2 times in Swiss (both in mirrors)
2k Origins Game Fair was won by Emerald/Steel, Win An Enchanted Elsa Event was won by Ruby/Sapphire, and CCS $10k was won by Amethyst Ruby. Balanced meta despite all the Bucky crying and whining.
It isn't crying and whining. It's pointing out a flaw in the card design. Reducing a game that should be about strategy and tactics to a top deck war isn't just bad game design, it isn't fun to play or play against. As more and more Floodborns enter the game, this problem just gets worse. That's especially true now that after only four sets, Ravensburger has taken a page out of the Magic playbook and effectively allowed characters to be shifted for "free." You, and anyone else who would take your point of view, seriously need to remember that bans are just as much about the health of the game as they are about keeping broken cards out of the card pool for a format.

@Xoulrath_ I read what you said and stand by the fact that no card needs banned at this time. Perhaps at a later date but not now. It is 100% crying and whinin "why cant i win with RA bounce no skill deck anymore wa ban the squirrel I can't be bothered to tech in one of the 8 possible outs my list must be perfect and undisturbed!!" Welcome to the game the rest of us have been playing since set 1. As far as practicing reading compression I'll help you out....get good the squirrel isn't an issue.
@@1269scowyn you didn't read and understand shit, then. Since you can't seem to understand simple English, I'll break it down for you in the smallest possible terms. Do you understand that phrase? I don't want to talk too fast, or use words that are too big for you. All I did was point out WHY players were "crying and whining" about Bucky, as per ghostknight's comment. Then I explained WHY even when cards were NOT overpowered, that banning them was still a good idea. At NO point did I personally say that Bucky needed to be banned. At no point did I say that ANY card needed to be banned. I'm personally a believer in never banning cards, and only restricting them if absolutely necessary. So no, you didn't understand a fucking word that I typed.

Under The Sea was amazing when i tested it in my Amber Emerald deck. Loved using on turn 3 a singer 5 ariel, then turn 4 musketeer Daisy duc kto make op discard a card then on turn 5 sing Under the sea with an item or action lowering attack of 3-4 atk opponents to banish them under the deck with Buckys' diablos , Hirams and others (Sure if you're not mixing Amber with your emerald, Under the sea does THEN cost more t osing... nobody sings like Amber !!!)
I’ve played the RB Ariel/Dime combo and I swear, like 90% of the time people don’t expect it and by the time it’s setup most people don’t have an answer. Plus, if they do have an answer just go the classic Sisu wipe the board strategy.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t running Develop Your Brain over Maurice’s Workshop make more sense? You’re still paying one ink either way to draw the card, but at least with DYB you get to draw two and filter one, plus it dodges Diablo and you don’t have to pay 3 ink upfront.
I think its hilarous that finaly other colors then RA are in the top 8 and people are crying left and right for a ban. RA had its time for almost a whole year. Set 3 opened the gate a bit with RS as an equal contender and now we have a meta of around 4/5 decks: RA/ESt/SSt/RS/S and EA. If you lose to the squirrel its because YOU failed to tech against it. There is a reasonable awnser in every color except amber......because its amber lol. Gg
I mean no one reasomable is arguing the meta isn't balanced. It's more that Bucky/Duablo isn't fun to play against and limits deckbuilding opportunities because you HAVE to tech for it. Fun > Balance should always be the priority because at the end of the day it's a game.
@AlphosNZ teching is part of this game with no side board. We tech for diablo, we tech for castles,we tech for fish bones, we tech for medusa, we tech for dimes, we tech for whatever card(s)s a threat in the current meta
@@1269scowyn That doesn't change my argument? If we didn't have to tech for Bucky Diablo, we'd still have to tech for the next best threat. Regardless of if you tech for it or not, a consistent discard is an inherently un-fun mechanic to play with & against because it limits play options. I'm not arguing against it being balanced because you can tech for it (it is balanced) but balance is not the be all, end all goal of a card game, fun is.
@AlphosNZ It's not about the next threat it's about all of them. We tech for all of them lol if you leave yourself open to a particular threat you will lose to it. I would argue that RA was horribly unfun to play against until set 3 when we finally had a chance. The internet wasn't up in arms (except be prep which honestly is dumb every tcg has a board wipe) you just play around it. Does your hand getting discarded suck? Yes. Is there ways to combat it? Absolutely. I fully expect diablo to draw me 1 card. Anything after that is a bonus. In addition I'm honest suprised to see the lists that were winning considering in those decks without bucky you don't have much to fall back on. A discard only plan will lose almost everytime
You covered green steel too long deck is not fun to watch, play or play against. Many others would agree that the deck is stupid and we’re all tired of seeing it. Also spicy isn’t really a thing in the deck when it plays the same except can just banish locations. Not really spicy when it was doing that last set.
I smell the salt of a ruby amethyst player who finally got beat. Talk about unfun was losing consistently to RA for a year watching helplessly as you bounced Goats back all the live long day. The squirrel is fine learn to tech against it like we did when we eventually recieved tools to deal with RA
