After the game, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski offered a defense of his signal-caller, taking responsibility for his struggles.
"Obviously Deshaun gives you everything he has," Stefanski said, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. "He can't get sacked that many times, can't get hit that many times. That's not good enough, and that's on me and that's on us to get that fixed."
Cleveland allowed eight sacks to the Giants, and while New York has a fine pass rush, that is still unacceptable. The Browns also suffered numerous injuries along their offensive line throughout the game, which certainly made life more difficult.

Facts!! The Browns need speed in the WR room to open the offense up. Speed creates space and backs the LBs up, and causes the secondary to play deep. It’s not rocket science.

Stefanski is one of these coaches who’s stubborn and runs his offense regardless of the players, can’t adjust or won’t. It takes a guy who can run an offense based on what you have for players. The longer he’s here the more he’s held this team back

I guess a dropped pass that sealed a win for NY is his fault, not the player's fault. I guess an interception that would have put the Browns deep in NY territory being cancelled by an ignorant penalty by the player is his fault instead of the player's fault. I hate conspiracy theories. The front office isn’t forcing Stefanski to play a certain style, however Kevin’s Stefanski style can only take the team so far. That style didn’t work in the playoffs last year.

No. This is not “the worst” coaching job for Stefanski. He has been this bad many times over but you all were buying into that 2X COTY foolishness. I told you all he was not the right coach back in 2021 because of the way he handled Baker Mayfield’s injury and his suspect play calling which I first commented on in 2020. He is playing Tllman and has Trash on the inactive list. He cannot scheme to mask his team’s offensive deficiencies. And he never accepts responsibility for his failures, instead, choosing to talk about what “we” can do better as a team. I love the Browns but I hope we go 1-7 in the first 8 games. Maybe then, Stefanski will be fired. Andrew Berry should also be scrutinized carefully.

KS is hurting the Browns. Its shows up when he doesn’t have great players on the field. He’s costing us crucial games because of his predictable offense. Doing a QB sneak on 3 and 1 with Winston was foolish. You were successful on inches but a whole yard. So many bad play calls by KS who wants to be coordinator and coach. Get Bill B back here and elevate Vrabel. Kevin should be somewhere in office not coaching.

Remember kevin being up 35-7 vs titians and 41-14 va cowboys in 2020 and only won by a touchdown both games! Remember him barley beating the Steelers backups in 2020 last game of the year to make the playoffs and running an outside zone run with Baker to seal the game like he didnt have Chubb and Hunt! @@jasoncampbell5518 okay. So they are both bad. Berry is still to blame for keeping DePodesta on the payroll. That is, he couldn’t see that DP was not a good evaluator. So much damage on that roster will take many years to build. Good organizations are built through the draft and it’s a very slow process. Each draft should eventually produce 3 starters. Browns currently have, I think, 7 starters from the last 7 drafts. One all pro - Chubb, the rest are average to below. When Myles and Chubb pull out, look out.

After watching the game, it's apparent to Gerstenhaber that the coach cost them with clock management. With better clock management, everyone then can run, block, catch and complete passes. Sounds like to me Stefanski doesn't know what he's doing. Why change what worked with another team until it's broken. Stefanski is the only coach who wins playing one way then goes into another game and scraps it. All teams Pass rush has been shredding our offensive line and instead of calling quick plays to minimize sacks and Qb hits he calls deep routes when u don't have time for deep routes. Hunt N chubb carried the browns to the playoffs baker was a bus rider that is a fact dude avg under 200 yards a game went like 7 weeks straight with undet 200 yards that season!! And Flacco ran his own offense! Kevin had Njoki for 4 years and couldnt use him till flac came thats not a coincidence brah! I agree unfortunately because I’m so tired of change. We need a hard nose coach who is not a robot. Vrabel and Bill B would be a nice combo. Kevin called some bs plays like that 3 and 1 and 4 and 1. D4 does not help he should have played to get the first down then go deep. Our offense does not flow and it starts up top. The plays that are drawn out take time to develop and time is something D4 does not have in the pocket. Its unacceptable losing to the Giants and not scoring more than 18 points is just embarrassing with our talent

The crisis was that he didn't keep Bill Callahan he should have gave Bill Callahan 10 million a year to be the offensive line coach so that we had guys that could actually block. Remember the Pittsburgh game where he took Wyatt Tyler and Don and all these guys and put them on the line and Coach them up like literally in 48 hours and they did a good job. We don't have anybody that's coaching up these Lyman anymore and it shows that's the worst part of our game plan we have no offensive line coach it's obvious

Calling a qb sneak on 3rd down isn't a problem. Bringing winston in to run that sneak is. You signaled to everyone in the world what the play call was. Then followed that up with a bad plat call on 4th down.

However Watson is just awful and would make Lombardi look terrible as a. Coach or any coach of your choosing. That's just his play but let's not forget his moral shortcomings which has produced a cloud of doom that follows him wherever he goes and it is for that reason wherever he goes he should not go anywhere near the field facilities or team. Paul Depodesta is to blame. Depodesta ran Baker out of town and forced the Watson trade. Depodesta has ham strung the team playing moneyball for 7 years. Instead of admitting he disasterus decision he doubled down and push Watson to a 72.9 millon cap hit . Gave Judy a contract way above his on field production. Depodesta fired Alex Van Pelt and half of the Offensive staff that just got them to the playoffs. Depodesta has catered the entire franchise to a bum QB ! Flacco proved Stafanski and Alex Van Pelt had a good systeam. Paul Depodesta threw it in the trash now the whole team is trying to learn a new offence. If you have a QB that can not do anything what the he'll do you expect him to call !

Everyone can make all of the excuses they want about the offensive line, the playcalling, the receivers, etc... but the bottom line is that Watson just stinks so far this season. Through 3 weeks the only starting QB that is rated lower is the benched Bryce Young. With same coaching staff and playcalling, and with an equally injured or even more injured offense line, with same receivers the Browns had a 4 game winning streak late last year with Flacco throwing for 300+ yards per game and putting up 31, 20, 36 and 37 points.

Watson can not play in that system that's why Depodesta fired Alex Van Pelt. That's why Ken Dorsey was brought in to play a spreed offense. Bit Watson can't play in it either. Holds the ball to long can not read defences and doesn't understand where to go with the ball.

Compare the organizations, Browns vs Steelers and Ravens. Steelers and Ravens have stability and owners that dont meddle and make decisions in order to overcome past stupid decisions. if deshaun could hit his recievers the browns win this game, kevin had the recievers wide open multiple times, but we had to watch a couple tds sail way over moore and coopers heads. watson cant throw, thats why he has only completed about 58% of his throws since coming to cleveland.

I’d fire him now and move to Vrabel. Kev ego is so massive that clearly the org wanted an OC and he hired Dorsey but kept play calling and clearly not a Dorsey offense if you look at the bills film with him running the show. That 3rd and 1 call reminds me of his dumb call last year against Seattle when he threw the ball instead on running it , it gets picked off and we lose. That game cost us a bye week. Like how long do we need to see that Kev simply isn’t it. Never has been. He’s been the beneficiary of some pretty top tier rosters his entire tenure. Taking Watson out on 3rd and 1 when he’s hit his last 6 passes, is scrambling well, Coop finally got it going… like huh?! Brah … CRAZY WORK
