The fact that you are selling this as an affiliate on Amazon just shows to me how much you actually believe in this product. I think it's a good thing. I saw magic johns short and googled it that's how I came across tech central. I’ve always been great at installing screen protectors as I’ve been doing it 10+ years. But it’s always a big process trying to ensure no dust gets under and I just hated doing it. This thing makes it’s so quick and easy. Went from maybe a 3-5 minute process to like 60 seconds I love it.
i bought a pack of 2 blindly just to check this out for my 15 pro max and broo its is fantastic the installation was easy no bubble no nothing the feeling of the screen is perfect the alignment is perfect. I was so blown away actually. Super quality 100% not a scam. have i mind i order it directly from their site from a youtube reel. 1000% recommended!!
I ordered a pair and I’m glad I did. Sitting outside at the dealership waiting on an oil change for my Jeep and my phone slipped off my lap, struck the ground pretty good, was sure there was going to be damage. This screen saver took the hit, absorbed the impact and did break. Screen was totally intact and undamaged. Went home and put the second one on just as easily as the first time and it’s good to go. Need to order some more for backups, lol.
I bought this for the same reason you did. This was bar none the cleanest installation. I had 1 bubble that pressed out easy. Not a single particle to be seen
My last screen protectors all of them cracked under normal use, even when the protectors were put on by the people at the store where I purchased the phone. The installation of magic John was easy and if you follow their instructions it should go on perfectly. So now, it’s the test of time, and we will see how it holds up under normal wear. So far I am very pleased with the product and would give it a 10 out of 10.
Im not sure what you mean by “cracked under normal use” 😂 theres no possible way to crack a glass unless you drop it. Thats not normal use, you dropped it and it did its job properly. If you crack a screen protector by typing then either you’re buying screen protectors from 5below or you just the most heavy handed person in the world (which is unlikely).. Furthermore, the sole purpose of a screen protector is to crack on impact (a drop for example). That means that the screen protector absorbed all of the impact energy and distributed it across itself and didn’t let it get to your phone’s screen (meaning it did its job, protected your screen). Obviously in some EXTREME cases like an intensional slam then it’ll still get to the screen but thats more of a user thing rather than the screen protector. Think of it like a protective motorcycle helmet. Its sole purpose is to break on impact so that it absorbs all of the impact energy and prevent it from being distributed to your skull and brain and save your life. Now if the screen protector doesn’t break that means that it did not absorbed the impact energy and distributed to your actual phone. Which could result in a cracked screen in some scenarios.
@@babypinkbeanyour assuming that it didn't take the impact but how can you assume that? Just because it didn't break doesnt mean it didn't absorb the impact it just means it absorbed the kinetic force and DIDNT break which is what is advertised
First off big big thumbs up! This is the first time ever I've put a screen protector on any of my iPhones and I've had several. I currently have the 15 pro and so far it's the best apple phone ever! I bought mine screen protector on TikTok shop and got discount 16.99, but I'm wondering what can I do with the extra one I have?? I did the install looks tremendous! I give it 5stars all the way
one of their selling points is that the screen protector would not shatter even after drilling on it while on phone and then pulling off the screen protector.. and hitting it agains hard objects.. and it will even bend without shattering.. where a the others they demo'ed would shatter when striking them on a hard surface. Any chance you can do that part in your demo to show if it will wilth stand drilling on it and you can remove it after drilling on it.. and then bend it and also strike it against a hard hobject to see what happens to it?
Great video 👍 i am your new subscriber. Yes it's expensive but the installation is easy which is a very plus point but the main thing which no one talking is it protect the mobile screen from any drop or hard hit. This company taking the money for this feature.
That's all fine and well, but how does it actual protect your screen from damage, I'm clumsy and drop mine allot. Does this protect like other tempered glass protectors do.?
I recently got one and it's the worst screen protector I've ever used. It started cracking on the edges just from me setting my phone on its face. Never dropped it, just rested it on the screen at night.
@@lolpotaI don’t know how you managed to crack the edges, but I physically tried to after you said it cracked by simply setting the phone down, and I have zero cracks.
@@Colegrover97 Based on my experience, I use two phones, and my personal phone has the magic Johnson screen protector. I usually hold both phones in one hand, with the front of my personal phone resting against the back of my work phone. Over time, I’ve noticed that the contact between the screen protector and the back of my work phone causes the edges of the protector to crack.
I plan on making an updated video in the near future. I'll show how the current one is holding up, and also perform some durability tests. I just don't know exactly when, but it will be soon, hopefully!
As of right now (07/28/24) there are no scratches or cracks. However, some debris has started to make its way under the upper left side, and within the last week I’ve also noticed a spot on the very top that looks like the adhesive is starting to wear off. I work in some pretty harsh/hot conditions sometimes and always have my phone in my pocket without a case. That could possibly be the cause of this, but I’m not 100% sure.
Just a one time use. But I guess you could keep it to align other brands that do not come with an alignment case. I’ve done it before and it works but not the greatest result so yes. But also know. It’s a gamble.
Hey! Wanna know if anyone else is having the same problem as me. I got these to replace a previous screen protector. I got it right on the first try I believe but on my Iphone 13 when i put my otterbox phone case on with the new screen protector bubbles started to appear wanted to know if anyone else had these problems and possible solutions maybe. I don't know if they aren't supposed to be used with a phone case or maybe I unknowingly botched the installation just enough to make the product seem right but not function correctly.
install was GREAT! However the quality of the screen protection does not live up to the hype. My phone fell off the arm of the living room chair to a table (18" maybe) and screen protector is cracked. Only installed for 2 days.
In all fairness, the screen protector cracked, not the screen. $10 to $20 is a lot cheaper than $200 to $400 (depending on what kind of phone you have) to have the screen replaced. Honestly, I don't really care for the over-the-top marketing that Magic John puts out, where they claim their screen protector is almost 'indestructible'. My main thinking is that you can swap it out with a new one quickly. If you drop your phone, something might crack, especially with newer iPhones. I dropped my old iPhone 13 once - the screen protector didn't crack, nor did the screen; however, the back glass did. Anyway, everyone is different. I'm mainly concerned about scratches on the screen. If you drop your phone (screen protector or not), you're lucky if nothing cracks. I personally have had the same screen protector on my phone since I made this video, and it's held up pretty good. The only issue I have had is that a bit of debris has started to make its way under the left side. Either way though, it doesn't really matter which brand you go with, it's going to be plastic or tempered glass every time. Every time you drop your phone, you're really just playing the screen/screen protector lottery.
This is true. Unfortunately, many people end up ordering the scam version because of this, and then never give the real one a try because they think the product is junk.
Sorry man is for me just an half review. You must test in real condition and try to scratch and etc. If it real better than others. What im not believe. But marketing in this days wash out brain.
So, first of all, I hear you... it wouldn't have been a bad idea to test the durability. But, in my own defense, I don't really do review videos. If you look at my channel, it's mostly Cisco networking stuff, etc. This was just one of those off-the-cuff videos. My thought process was - I want to install this thing on my phone, and maybe I'll try to make a video out of it and see how it goes. Once it was installed and I was happy with the results, I didn't want to mess it up. I still wanted to upload the video though, and after rewatching it, I thought it could still be classified as a review. But here's the main thing... Everyone's opinion is going to be different, and if you do or don't do something, someone will always chime in with what they think you should or shouldn't have done. I'm not discrediting you in any way, as a matter of fact, I do agree with you. With that being said, since I still have another one of these screen protectors, maybe I'll make a second video as a follow-up for future viewers, where I test the overall durability and scratch resistance. I do care about bubbles and dust particles but my top concern is the durability. I see on social media that the guy who pitches this product bends it in an almost U shape and it doesn’t snap broken. Is this true?
That sounds like a positive considering all these 3 for $6 garbage tempered glass screen protectors flooding the market! I am curious though as I thought tempered glass screen protectors were designed to crack absorbing the impact instead of transferring it to your sexy screen beneath 🤔 im not through dudes video yet but what exactly is the magic Joey boys screen protector made of then, just plastic?
@@lgzz4885 My first protector that I put on was very easy, just like the video. I loved it for about a month when I dropped my phone hitting the top left corner. The protector shattered a bit on that corner while the phone-face was unblemished. The second protector was easily installed like the first. I recommend this product.
you want your screen protector to break, if it doesn't break all the force goes to your actual screen. if the screen protector breaks, then it does the job of actually protecting your screen
The screen protector is by far the easiest screen protector I've ever used but the screen protector is far to small for the screen it is so small that I have a rather wide black strip all the way around the screen
I installed this on my S22 ultra and did all the steps fingerprint 1st and place the protector on, prints do not work did my prints again with screen on and still doesn't work.
I read on another video that it doesn’t work with the Samsung fingerprint thing which is crazy to make a screen protector that doesn’t work with it but I’m guessing that may take some different screen protector technology that all the screen protector companies will have to figure out.
Was it the privacy filtered one that you bought? I can understand why your print might not work for that one, but would be unfortunate if it was the clear one
My only question is how difficult is it to remove? I know that glass is glass and glass can (and will) break, so in the event this does break, or if I want to remove the screen protector for a trade-in of my phone for a new one, how difficult is it to remove this screen protector. I know that some screen protectors use a glue that can make it very difficult to remove the screen protector. Is this one of those or is it easy to remove the screen protector?
I wish I could answer that question for you, but I still haven't removed the one I installed in the video. It looks like it comes off pretty easily, even if cracked, based on some other videos I have seen, but maybe someone else that knows for sure will chime in...
You can't know if its a scam or not solely based on installation. A screen protector has one primary purpose, and it's not to be "easy to apply"....it is to protect your phone screen. I'd give the next video a shot if you want to try again with durability testing....
Respectfully, I think you're being a bit narrow-minded here. The reason I say that is because you're stating definitively that "You can't determine if it's a scam or not based on the installation." However, that's your perspective; you're not considering what others might think. For some people, it's all about the installation. For you and some others, it's about durability. Then there are those who value both aspects. The point is, the video is what it is regardless of individual expectations. I probably should have conducted a durability test, and I understand your point on that. Unfortunately, I didn't. For me, this was solely about the installation and dust particle removal, as that's the main appeal of this product. I've used $5 screen protectors, $10 screen protectors, and so on, and each of them protected the screen. However, some people believe that if they drop their phone on concrete from a moving vehicle and the screen sustains any damage, then the screen protector must be a scam. Personally, I'm more concerned with preventing scratches from everyday use, like putting the phone in my pocket, rather than extreme scenarios like dropping it or hammering the screen, but that's just me... I'm not everybody. But anyway, regardless of the type or brand of screen protector, it's essentially a thin piece of plastic or tempered glass. While some may be more durable than others, they all provide basic protection. So, when it came to the Magic John screen protector, if it weren't for the installation method, I would have chosen something inexpensive on Amazon. That's why I made the video the way I did - to highlight what sets this screen protector apart from the others. I do still have the screen protector on my phone, and recently, I've been considering making a durability test video since it's almost time to replace it. It's not scratched, but some crap has started to make its way under the left side. If I decide to do it, I'll share the link with you. You're right...I could have used better wording, but I don't believe that "narrow-minded" is the right description either. IN MY OPINION... A screen PROTECTOR is just that... something that PROTECTS the screen. Taking into consideration how many companies are out there that will install screen protectors for you... ease of installation should only be an added bonus, not the primary selling point. I, like you, don't ever plan on doing crazy excessive testing my on phone like dropping it 20+ feet or hitting it with a hammer, etc. It's just that "everyday protection" is the primary reason people use any screen protectors, not just Magic John. With a company like Zagg, people likely know what to expect... but with a company that most people discovered on TikTok, any level of real world durability testing would definitely help people make a decision. I also acknowledge that 'narrow-minded' probably wasn't the best description. I apologize for that; I was speaking off the top of my head in the moment. What's with the cracked screen pic at 4:53? Great installation, but crappy durability/protection? I've read a few reviews on Amazon, that the screen protector cracked easily.
What you're seeing at 4:53 is just a reflection. As far as durability and protection go, all I can say is that mine hasn't cracked or lifted yet, but I also do my best to take good care of the phone. It all really depends on the person though. Some people are really rough on their phone and think the screen protector is junk when it inevitably cracks after hitting concrete from a few feet up. Personally, I think it's a good screen protector, but just like with anything... opinions will vary from person to person. Anyway, you don't happen to have an iPhone 14 Pro Max by any chance, do you? If so, I can just send you the one left over from when I made the video free of charge, if you're in the US.
Neither has been an issue; however, there are a few very faint micro-scratches. That's expected of any screen protector though, and it really depends on how you handle your phone (such as, do you put it in the same pocket as your car keys?).
It seems like the world unfortunately revolves around iPhones, but Magic John could definitely do better with their Samsung products. I hear you on that!

I bought a Screen protector directly from KoleNP. With shipping it was about $28. I have a Pixel 8 Pro which I selected on ther KoleNP order form. Big mistake. What I got did not have the Magic John installation tray so when you peel off the protective layer, you have to be very careful when you place the plastic tray over the phone. The bottom line is that the screen protector installed just slightly off center, but it was hardly noticeable until I installed the phone back into my Mous case. The corner of the screen protector lifted and I could not get it to stay down even after I removed it from the case. My guess is that you have to be careful to only by for the exact phone and be sure it comes with the Magic John.
Even the el-cheapo ones will protect the screen to some degree. Obviously, I didn't show anything durability-related in the video, but after having it on my phone for over a month, it seems to be really good. There are no scratches on it, and I also had one unfortunate drop on concrete from a few feet up. Surprisingly, it didn't crack the screen protector or the screen. It didn't crack the back glass either, which I thought for sure it would, so maybe I just got lucky? Anyway, it still looks good. It doesn't do that annoying 'lifting' thing that some other cheap screen protectors do, where it looks like it's not adhering to the phone screen anymore in certain spots.
It beads up water, and it falls right off. Fingerprint resistance is, well... I'll say it seems pretty good, but it is not 100% resistant to fingerprints. The phone used in the video is an iPhone 14 Pro Max

I hear ya… They have one for the s22, but from what I’ve seen, it sucks. Unfortunately, we live in an iPhone world these days; it’s like a status symbol for a lot people. This is unrelated, but I used Android for years before I switched to iPhone. It’s great in many areas, but the Apple ecosystem really has me tempted to switch back to Android. Over time, I have learned that the “Apple way” is rarely ever the best way, or the most efficient way. Anyway, with that being said, Magic John does need to step up their Android game though!
exactly! Samsung used to mock apple's many shortcoming....and now they're just playing the follow the leader game. How incredibly sad. However, if the rumors do become true and Apple is forced to allow third party apps to be sideloaded then I might...just might make the switch, that is if I can make the iphone do all the things I can currently do on my galaxy s10 plus. @@RMTechCentral
I would if I had a phone with a fingerprint sensor, but unfortunately I don't. According to some others though, it seems like the Magic John for some of the Samsung Galaxy phones doesn't seem to work so well with the fingerprint sensor, and if that is the case, I would honestly pass on the Magic John for those phones. Maybe someone that knows a bit more about it could chime in and shed some light.

I'll tell you, nothing beats a 'naked' phone screen, especially with these OLED and AMOLED screens these days! I've gone without a screen protector here and there, but then, of course, I start to get crazy about it, always looking for scratches, etc. So of course I always end up putting a screen protector on for the sake of my mental health lol. I must have got the scam version as it did not work for me. cannot read my fingerprints thru the screen protector. wtf and the applicator is some crap plastic. nowhere near the same.
Where did you buy it off of? And I also read that it doesn’t work with the Samsung fingerprint thing, I don’t even know what that isn’t or how it works, I’ve just read comments of people saying it doesn’t work with that in general.
Yeah, the S22 version is definitely a no go. I haven't tried it myself, but I've seen plenty of videos and have read through enough comments to give it a thumbs down. I'm also not a big fan of the fact that it seems like it's a rubbery plasticky material vs a solid piece, but I guess that's probably because of the screen's rounded edges...? 🤷
certain tempered glass materials don't work well with the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on certain devices. it's probably why magicjohn does really have many protectors for Samsung devices....to many complaints. I'm using a AMFilm glass one on my s23+...seems to work find even the fingerprint works pretty well...not 100% but better than most.
What I did with my 23 ultra is: you have 4 fingerprints to register, I registered my thumbs twice each, two for left, two for right. The reading sensor works wonders.
To avoid dust: 1 turn off all air conditioning 2 run shower on hot with door closed for 5 min 3 close door and wait 15 minutes 4 install screen protector in bathroom with door closed Your welcome
It's hard to tell whether the fingerprints are less on this screen protector vs other brands. I would say that the Magic John might be slightly less prone to fingerprints, but it's definitely not fingerprint resistant by any means.
