Please hit that like button if you got something out of this video. This was a quick and easy setup video for the Excalibur II. If you need more information you can check out the article over on my website www.mentalmetaldetecting.com Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
At first glance, I thought it to be a very hard to set up and use machine. But now that I have watched the video I see that it is very easy to set up and go right to work. Great video!!!!!!
The greatest vlf machine ever!, no other machine comes close, got the first one ever came out and still got it 8" coil Minelab 1000 blue, and over 200 Gold rings, 150 silver rings, plus 100,s of dollars in change ,you can't go wrong!, no leaks, no breaks ,just a awesome machine!
Thanks so much for the info👍. I have an excalibur II and hadn't used it in a while took it out on the 4th of July and had all my settings messed up. I've never pulled so many rusty nails and bolts in my life as I did last night, and knew I was doing something wrong. This video definitely Got's me wanting to give it another try. Thanks Again!!!
@@Gold-d9x if you hunt with an audible threshold, then when you go over a good target your threshold will sound pleasant but when you go over an undesirable target the threshold goes to a loud buzz sound. By moving your coil near your scoop it will return your threshold sound to the more pleasant tone.
I recently bought a used Excalibur 2 for 500.00. The detector needed some work done on it. I sent it away a couple of weeks ago for repairs. A new 10 inch coil along with the wires attached from the coil up to the control box was added. I also had a new headphone installed with the wires attached to the unit. The detector is in great shape and should work like new when I get it back this week. My cost was 500.00 for the unit. Another 500.00 to refurbish. The ExCalibur should work like new when I get it back. My question is would it be sensible to trade it in for a more land based detector? I do plan on detecting in water but certainly not deep water. Maybe 15 feet depth. I want to do most of my detecting on land. The question, is an ExCalibur 2 a good detector and worth it for me to keep being most of my detecting will be away from the beach? Thanks for any information for a detectorist newbie in myself. Love your page!I Already subscribed.
Thank you and thanks for the sub. Thats a hard question to answer but I think you answer it yourself. If you don't plan on being on the beach or in the water, the Excal may not be a wise choice. There are plenty of good land detectors such as the Deus 2, Manticore, Legend, etc.
Let me correct myself. I will be using the Excalibur on the beach as I only live a few miles from FortLauderdale beach. I read the Excalibur is the best detector for the beach due to it being able to work well in high mineralized areas. I will also be using the detector inland. In back yards, school grounds. Etc… Do you know of anyone that uses the Excalibur well off a beach as their go to detector? I am thinking about trading it in for a more land based detector like the Equinox 900 or the Manticore or other Mine Lab. I’m thinking the only thing I will not have if I keep the Excalibur is the screen. Not sure which way to choose yet.
Hi Scot, Good video. I'm content with my 800 for now but it's always interesting to learn about new machines. I have heard that Excalibur 2 is pretty heavy for use on land but shines when used for wading or diving. Have a good week, buddy.
I just used my Excalibur for the first time today. I have an 800 that I’ve had great success with. I’ll say several things annoy me about the Excalibur. It does not come with a forearm strap so it is loose on your forearm which gives less control. I’m going to look into maybe purchasing or making something to fix the issue but it should come with. It also gave false signals the entire time no matter what I adjusted the settings to. The beach I tried it on is heavy sediment but I’ve seen videos where it supposedly cancels out bad signals. I spent all morning digging up aluminum mostly. Another annoyance is the shaft it comes with is not very long. I’m 6’02” and it’s a little short for my liking. Anyways, just my feedback. I’m not giving up on it yet but the 800 shits on this thing so far.
I forgot another annoyance. The cord for the earphones is coiled up and continuously pulled the earphones off my ears because the coil was too tight or too short or both.
@@samax04 all true. I should have bought the 800. Get Tony Eisenhower headphones. I have a carbon fiber tall man extender which is too long for me. I took off the original forearm shaft like everyone does.
I found 43 rings my first year with Excalibur 2, all in the water. Lakes. But dry and wet sand I use the nox 800 to much junk on land for Excalibur unless you want to dig it all.
Old school, and has lots of problems over time. Like a Harley... Like the CZ-21 better, just heavy, use a harness great underwater , both have their good points.
Took one out wish I watch this video first 😃😬 I hit a lot of iron and it did that hummmm thing. I thought it was my settings. I was going crazy 🤣 now I understand how it works...I just need to remember when I am hunting lol I screen shot your settings to help remember. Thank you ❤️
