I can see this being absolutely insane with the new strand titan Aspect, you can also run Flechette storm in lower tier content for a ranged option between bayonets.
Was running monte and synthoceps with the new strand aspect, flechette storm, with a glaive(or maybe a one two punch shotgun) and crown splitter. Was using this loadout while farming for the monte cat. Crown splitter is absolutely insane, most bosses hit their health gate or death before I was able to get whirlwind blade to 10x and use the heavy attack but I was doing 90k+ for a heavy swing on a boss so do with that as you will. Very enjoyable playstyle. Fun for lower end content. Maybe swap synthos with strongholds and you could possibly take this loadout into end game content.
Over 600k is nuts, but then again this is an exotic primary and I have a feeling that the 40% damage buff against minors is mostly responsible for it. In any case, I'll be trying it out against a champ once I get the caty since that's where I'll probably use it the most
For Solar Hunters the explosive throwing knife is _very_ easy to get PvE kills with. Any final blow with one (no matter if a weaker wounded enemy is running past the intended target) will instantly refresh a new throwing knife again. Considering I run Monte Carlo exclusively with throwing knives, Goldtusk sword, and Shards of Galanor (to increase blade barrage frequency). You better believe I find a ton of utility in adding another blade attack to my arsenal. Not to mention that it rewards a mobile close-and-personal playstyle.
@@alifismy5689 Only a week ago I encountered another hunter, both of us wearing Iron Companion cloaks with nearly identical builds, but he took it a step further with a glaive as a secondary for yet another pointy-stabby weapon. At that point your hunter would be throwing an entire kitchen's worth of silverware at the enemy.
The bayonet melee might actually have a purpose as a sort of finisher in PvP. Get someone down to low health as you approach then finish them off with a melee that can lock on at high range
I already get explosive throwing knives returned with every final blow. Now Monte Carlo having more methods of getting it it back is insane. Slap on some melee-to-Super mods with Shards of Galanor and any Solar Hunter will be yeeting an entire kitchen of silverware!
Another blade for my Solar Hunter build, complete with a GoldTusk sword, Shards of Galanor, and Iron Champion armor (aesthetics with blades strapped everywhere). I actually found someone rocking a similar build but they took it a step further with a glaive for extra stabby-stabby.
I feel let down, kind of bummed on this. I dont use monte carlo for uncharged melee, I only use it to regen my charged melee. Honestly i would have liked the catalyst to improve the melee regen without having to swap to a stab mode, or at 5 stacks, hold reload to consume all stacks and grant all melee charges based on stacks consumed etc.
@@YardsaleAbsurdity haha, so basically just use it without the catalyst, like i have been doing this whole time. Still bummed that the catalyst wont do anything for my playstyle
Have you tried using this with Dunemarchers in Crucible? Not only that, but do you consider it feasible to soften up the target with a bit of chip damage using Monte itself before striking?
Why? It's strictly worse than Synthoceps. Triton is only a 30% buff while near 3+ enemies while Synthoceps is a 50% buff while near 3+ enemies which lingers for another 8 seconds.
@@theoutlaw6044 now buddy, dont get your panties in a twist. I was just making a suggestion. Yes, titan can use syntho but im trying to look past the same old exotics we use every season, and since Hunters dont have syntho I thinks pretty reasonable to try it. If you find a way to equip synthos on hunter, please, do let me know
Yeah just, no. The best exotic that synergizes the best with Monte is Athrys Embrace. You'll not only be able to have a strengthened heavy throwing knife(Which is a one tap in pvp) after a few precision hits youll be able to have max monte stacks after getting a kill with it.
@OmegaThot_762 can't use charged melee while you activate it anyway so i don't see any harm in having the ability to chain bayonet kills until you hit something you can't kill in 1 shot
@@RegenAgent the way bungie announced, everyone thought it would be like a glaive.. but they under delivered it and so bungie won't make any changes like cerberus+1 catalyst😔
Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like a cooler idea would have been a bayonet charge that did more damage based on the number of enemies you hit in a single run
why are ppl whining about it being bad in pvp its monte its not meant for pvp im sorry you can only play pvp and find no joy in pve but stop complaining when you havent even used it in pve
@@akeecheyta im just saying monte has always been for pve not pvp so idk why ppl are whining so much about it sure thorn shouldve gotten a catalyst too but its probably going to get one next season anyways since everyone wants it so badly
I don’t use the gun so my opinion does not matter at all, but seriously why are people okay with this being the catalyst or even catalyst of the season. It should have just been a perk/trait to begin with. The bayonet has basically been a waste for 6 years (or however long Monte Carlo has been out) and now they wanna do something with it? Get tf outta here. Typical Bungie move.
