The 4th generation Grand Cherokee WK2 was the most awarded SUV ever, I think this new WL will take that title from the last generation Grand Cherokee, Jeep did a phenomenal job.
I had a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X and despite the very annoying infotainment issues it was my absolute favorite vehicle I’ve ever had. It got better gas mileage than my current Camry, for claimed 300 hp it MOVED, the leather/suede combo were so comfortable, the 4 wheel drive blew away the trucks I’ve been in. I wish I didn’t have to end up getting rid of it
The Lexus GX 460 may be old school, but its reliability is really no match. I have been driving the 2020 Lexus GX 460 since Christmas 2019 for 30+ miles daily. For over 2.5 years, I have only changed oil, no other issue at all. One time I ran over a fricking ladder in the middle of a highway at 80 mph at night. It was loud. I was so freaked out something might've been broken. I pulled over and checked the car. I didn't really spot or feel anything weird. But I took the car to the mechanic next day for inspection to be sure. I was amazed. Not a problem at all. The tires, the wheels, the suspension, everything else were in perfect shape. There was only a scratch mark under the running board. That's it. Not sure about this new Jeep GC, but i am getting one at the end of this year, will see how dependable this one is.
There are a bunch of reviews that come out at the same time. I always end up watching yours: love the history lesson, design critiques, real world comparisons, tech talk, and (most importantly) personality. No zonks from me, man
Joe, first great reviews on the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve on RU-vid. It was because of your reviews that I decided to pull the trigger on an identical vehicle (same color and everything), fully loaded as you had reviewed. Keep up the good work, as your review was most engaging and thorough.
Cant wait to get one.! I have been considering a GLE as my future SUV, but, this new design of the Grand keeps calling my attention. The interior look amazing and the new rugged body with the Alcantara interior look high and proud of an American made. I would love if you can give a review on the V6, it would be a great option to know.
As a 4th generation GC Summit owner. I’m excited about this one. The interior is magnificent and I prefer styling of the 2 row. It makes it look more balanced. Can’t wait to see one in person.
It sounds like a very quiet happy vaccume cleaner..lol..what surprised me was the price ..Joe I thought you would tell me that the m.s.r.o. would be 80 thou...but 66 fully loaded...shiiit..thats damn attractive pricing...look at that absolutely beautiful interior...GOOD FOR YOU JEEP I hope they sell a ton of them.
I LOVE this color combination! The two tone silver with this Palomino brown looks 🔥🔥🔥! This is exactly how I'd configure a Summit Reserve for myself or someone else
An amazing looking vehicle with a concerning amount of gloss black. I can only imagine how scratched those surfaces will look with just a few years of usage. Really wish they didn't use that much gloss black, particularly in high touch areas. Love the attention to detail otherwise and the ventilated rear seats is a very nice touch for this price point.
Guess you could always keep a microfiber cloth in the vehicle to keep the gloss black clean. That's what I would do. Got plenty of compartments to carry the cloth in.
You rub that gloss black with any cloth your pressing all the moab sand into it and scratching it no matter what. My fiat has the gloss black plastic trim and it was once gorgeous in a non touch area and it's still scratched =(
Hello Joe. Good presentation with your videos and great videography from your wife Lori. Once again Jeep did a great job. Back in the summer they did a great job with the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and now they did a great job with the two row version Jeep Grand Cherokee. To use some sports analogies Jeep definitely delivered a in your face posterized slam dunk, hit the ball outta the park for a GRAND SLAM homerun and caught a deep pass in the end zone for a touchdown. It kills the Lexus and few other luxury SUVs. The one luxury SUV that'll give it some stiff competition on or off road is the Range Rover. The Jeep Grand Cherokee will still come out on top though.
Jeep really went above and beyond my expectations for the redesign. I love this vehicle and the inside and technology…honestly thought it would be more than the msrp
Two row, all day long! Lexus had to learn from someone, and that someone, is JEEP. I'm taking a Grand Cherokee over some upstart. That interior is real clean. Thanks for the awesome review! Lori, thank you for all the great work that you do!
@@iggy-pg6gq Lexus SUV can't be compared to Jeep that's a insult. Jeep quality not even top quality with endless issues. You them pos broken down on the side of road.
@@shiftautomotive854 No one cares about Lexus.... Look at sales. Most of them have 50+ year old women driving them! They've replaced Buick as the seniors special
The interior is very nice. The exterior? Well, they definitely toned down the aggressive styling from the previous model. Not sure if I'm a fan or not. I'd have to see one in person.
Hi Raiti's Team, It is great to know this brand is not regressing, but is Jeep willing and capable of over-engineer their automobiles (parts, systems), like Toyota and Lexus? I would love to see that uncompromising passion, dedication, relentless commitment, especially having the name "Jeep". Jeep should be Military Grade, extremely reliable, lasting decades.
Great video! 4x4 on throttle!! LOL. Great looking vehicle. I might need to go test drive one soon. Something that I might suggest in future videos with SUVs. As a fellow tall person (6’1”) I hit my head on the back tailgate of my 2014 Santa Fe Sport a lot. Might be nice to mention how good the head clearance is on the tailgate for tall people. Just a thought. Great content though. I love watching your videos. Lori does a great job on the camera work too!
Now all Jeep needs to do is to make a ultra luxury mid-size suv or a mini grand wagoneer and they got a perfect lineup of cars! Jeep really stepped up their game!
What a stunning SUV! Jelly you out there in its natural habitat enjoying the epic scenery. The piano black trim can always be tinted in clear plastic we did it to our Forester.
Love the new design of the Grand Cherokee, I would look at the Summit Reserve for sure. Hopefully they will make a pearl white colour and a light trim colour to match.
I've had five Grand Cherokees, might need to try a sixth with the hemi before it gets axed. Did you happen to mention the starting price of the Trailhawk? Also did fuel economy improve with the new platform?
The only Grand Cherokee I’ve ever been a fanboy of is the SRT … have to admit this redesign looks pretty good. Can’t wait to see what SRT does w/this!!
Joe and Lori doing the business like no other out there!!! Jeep came out swinging with this new generation Grand Cherokee and no doubt it has off reading baked right into its DNA. Looks great and handles like no other. Would love to drive one one of these days!!! Great review as usual Joe and Lori!!! Thank you both for all you do!!! #RaitisRides #OnThrottle
@@SamfromSparta Congratulations! I got an email saying that I'll be notified once a delivery date has been established. Did you get such a notification, and how long was it before you got your email about pickup? I hope the notifications were very close.
@@michaelholloman6691 I ordered it last week of November… and received an email On Monday from Jeep Wave, saying it will Be at my dealers next week. Not heard anything from the dealer yet. But the email said to give the dealer 7 days before chasing them up.
@@michaelholloman6691 the only other email I got was from the dealer when they put in my order. 3 days after I got a email with the Vin of the vehicle.
Hi Joe, big thank you for all your videos! Very well done as all your videos, I just bought the first grand cherokee summit reserve exactly as shown in the vid, gray, tupulo inside 😀 #Cheer 🍻
Currently driving an Audi A8 which cost around 150.000 $ (140k € as I'm from Europe). It's big but I have 2 little kids and the trunk...well it's a sedan... There might be some quality details that make the Audi superior quality-wise (and the backseat shades are automatic 😛) but with the 4xe Grand Cherokee releasing over here now as the only model (I'd like to have the v8...) it becomes REALLY interesting for me. Half the price (or a bit more when fully specced) and I have everything (and more) I need plus the enormous trunk and a cool design...I think I'm in for a purchase! Great job Jeep!
I think I would get this exact colorway. Looks nice on the Jeep. I know this suv is expensive to maintain and there will be lots of repairs like every 6-12 months, but you never have to worry about getting stuck in the snow or mud. Prob get this once used 5 to 7 years from now lol
Love all your videos. Been waiting patiently to upgrade my 2015 GC and then Jeep goes and ruins it for me. :) The center console is a no-go for me. I agree, the piano black is awful but I could reluctantly get past that. But a dial shifter on a Jeep. Can't do it, hate it. And then to add insult to injury, the placement of the cup holders is idiotic. Once I put my metal water bottle in the cup holder I had to awkwardly reach over the bottle to reach the dial or bend my arm in front of the water bottle. Seriously Jeep, it looks like the make-it pretty engineers won out over the practicality engineers. Ditch the dial like the Velar did and place the cup holders on the side and I will run to the dealership and purchase one. Grrrrrr
If they put in the same engine with the mild hybrid system from the Wagoneer then it would probably get better MPG. I agree with you about the MPG bc 14 MPG in the city isn't enough anymore
Hey Raiti... Any insight that they are coming out with more than the 5 colors on their website? we are lookin in between that silver and the DARK gray. we want in between. I did find a site that shows another 4 colors but I think you would know if they are releasing more than the current color soon?
@@mestizosmulatos9624 We live in the North .. dark gray is not a good option as we have had black and dark gray before. Jeep has 10 colors for this Jeep but only has released 5
I have a 2022 Summit Reserve and love it. I got the Hemi so it roars down the road. Too bad they no longer offer the V8 on the 2023 models. I got one of the last ones with all the extra stuff. The only complaint is that I have not figured out how to connect anything thru the HDMI cable to the passenger seat screen.
I loved how it drove but the driver’s seat - it felt like it wouldn’t lower enough. I felt like I was sitting on top of the interior, not in it. I still loved how it felt though. Maybe I’m just used to the enclosed feeling of the previous generation (my 2011).
