I've got a pair of these. They're the softest shoes I've ever EVER worn. No joke. That midsole is softer than Zoom X or any other super foam. I wouldn't recommend them for long runs or any major elevation. But if you're running easy trails up to 20km - they're superb. Oh! And they're cheeeeeeap ❤.

FINALLY!! These have been on my list since their release here in NL but not a single review anywhere apart from a couple of Spanish trail blogs, maybe 1 video! Looking forward to this review!

Nice to see a review shoes being testesd on real mountain trails. The lack of stability on technical ground would be a real issue for me so good to get this information.

I bought a pair of Venym for some months ago. Was hoping it would have the same feel as Summit unknown. But its not even close. Its way to soft, specially on technical trails. When i run with summit unknown it really feels fast and fun. With venym i dont get that fast feeling.

I agree however the toebox room on the S.U V4 was poor and these are slightly better in that area... The S.U was very fun though while it lasted

@@gregholmes8764for me it's a perfect feet since I have narrow feet. I get the Venym in the hope to have the same feeling and I was disappointed. Bring back the SU v4 !! 😂

I’m really enjoying the Venym (despite the ugly colorway we get in AU). Definitely comes up short in length (shorter than the Rebel in the same size)

So Loyd, I'm excited to see this review cause this is one of my all-time favourite shoes. And I'm glad you like it. I agree on your pinpoints. The tongue is to short and could need just a bit more padding. It's not a shoe for the most technical trails and the lugs are a bit too short for the really muddy stuff. But the shoe is not designed for that so it´s not really an issue. The midsole is absolutely brilliant and I can't see a bitter road-to-trail than this one. I personally use it for almost everything except orientering runs. The outsole is a bit noisy on roads and that's really my only complaint about the shoe.

Tried a pair of the rebel v4s last month as needed some new daily road shoes, went with Novablast 4s instead, for a variety of reasons one of which was the rebel felt all over the place stability wise - they were so soft with no structure to the upper at all - and that was on tarmac! I cannot imagine that platform working on anything other than pancake flat, wide trails even if the upper has been completely redesigned, fair play taking these on those Chamonix forest sections, some of those root systems are no joke!!

I love the idea of making trail-ready versions of the running shoes and using them for long and dry road to trail runs. I have the Nimbus 26 TR and I am thinking about the Novablast 4 TR. These NB Venym's look awesome, too. I hope you are both having lots of fun.

I have these and worn them for about 80k so far. The midsole is great! However I wore them on an undulating run along the Malvern hills and my big toes were in bits! It was only a 14k run as well. And yes, I went half a size up. I wear them mainly on the road or flat, easy trails now and avoid hills. The toebox room is slightly better than the Summit Unknown V4 but still not ideal, sadly.

Just when I think I dont need to buy anymore running shoes for awhile.....these look perfect for some light local trails I run before work, won't be taking them into the lakes though, cheers 👍

You should check out the Puma voyage nitro 3. 4mm chevron lugs, pumagrip outsole, all nitrofoam, 8mm drop, And the price isn't terrible. 140 USD but I see them for under $100 on sale.

Great review Loyd in an amazing location, but this time I'm more interested in your apparel. I would like to buy your short and your t-shirt (Saysky). Would you be so kind to tell us the exact model of both. In repayment I will offer you a mojito. 😂 Ps. sorry for Liga, she can't drink...the Ccc is near 💪

Oooh, I just started the video, but if these are good I might have to add them to the stable. I recently found the rebel v3 at my local Marshalls for $50 and absolutely love them.

Try Asics trebeco max3 or MetaFuji trail. Way better.

What you advice for overpronters planter fasciitis. Recently bought Asics gel kayano 31 on 20 August. Not happy it's doesn't have enough cushion over all. Infact my right legs around fingers area pain encounter which I never had before. New balance 1080 v13 or More v5 or Aetrex men chase. Or something which is better for standing 12 hrs daily. Thank you

If you feel you need a bit of extra medial support but the Kayano is to firm, maybe take a look at the SAUCONY GUIDE 17 👍 They would give you the extra support needed but they’d be lighter and softer than the Kayano. Hope this helps 🙂
