I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you get better soon Feel free to take a little break or slow down a bit if you need to, your health is far more important than content ❤
I’ve just realized something: They’re adding new weapon variants in order It started with the three flagship classes: Shooters (Splattershot Nova), Rollers (Big Swig), and Chargers (Snipewriter) Then the next two were the other classes that were present at Splatoon 1’s start: Blasters (S’blast 92) and Brushes (Painbrush) Now it’s the two classes added in a Splatoon 1 update with Sloshers and Splatlings If this continues, next season will probably be Dualies and Brellas, with the following season being Stringers and Splatanas
it'd be pretty disappointing if we only got 1 new main weapon per class, but with only 4 seasons left, I can see it happening. I don't know why they decided to only update the game every 3 months.
Seems like a pretty tame season. There’s a handful of kits that seem mildly exciting, but honestly the gear changes are what excite me the most. I hope they also let you make the shirts that are already oversized a regular fit because I can’t stand them. It’ll also be cool if they let you change how you wear glasses like the Octoglasses.
Personally I like the update, half of the new tableturf cards are almost meta defining (we’ve known gold dynamo will destroy the meta since the game came out) and horrorboros is finally another 6x7 card so we no longer have to rely on captain. Very hyped for tableturf. Edit: this got some likes so I just wanna say CHARA PLEASE MAKE A TABLETURF VIDEO. Come to the tableturf server and learn some tips for the game. (TBS is the main tableturf server for anyone interested in learning the game, highly recommend)
Zip caster would already have relevance because it’s a fast way to teleport into the enemy base and gives you major height advantage and mobility in combat
this is what i thought. it didn’t seem like the shots were deviating when heavy edit jumped, and there’s not a splatling without jump rng in the game so it’s entirely possible
Splatoon 1 never had such a thing and given how a lot of people who's first game is Splatoon 3 and it's sales numbers they seem to be way to overly dramatic
I saw someone throw around the idea that the Heavy Edit’s gimmick might be the ability to block/“parry” ink shots with its ink, going off of the name “heavy edit” and the splatling’s design being based off of wite-out. Ofc, this is just speculation considering nothing in the clips of it in the trailer really show anything abt it.
That actually sounds like a really cool idea. Idk if it had any significance, but maybe that short clip where it takes down the dynamo was meant to display a gimmick like that.
Because of the two projectiles, the dread slosher seems like it's able to choose between sloshing straight ahead to deal high damage to a single point, or flicking to deal low damage to a wider area. I like that option select, because it means that if you connect two hits on an opponent, you can start using the flick to try to finish them off with a larger hitbox.
The new season/update is giving me kits of the two weapons I actually care about the most (Tri-Stringer & Splat Brella) so that alone make me like this season/update way more than the ones we got the first 6 or 9 months of the game.
@@m4rcyonstation93 i'm a splatling main, it does look like heavy edit has less jump rng. wouldn't be surprised if that's one of its gimmicks, especially since it has cooler which would reduce its jump rng anyway
About third kits... it came to mind that third kits in Splatoon 1 and 2 all originated after the initial planned support. Also between the new Tournament mode datamined on version 4.1 that seems pretty much ready, the possibility of new Festive Splatfest and Side Order, I could see a mid season uodate with some strong contents
I've Heard Some People Say That The Reason Most Of The Updates Have Been Pretty Lackluster Is Because The Devs Are Also Working On Side Order At The Same Time. Hopefully They Will Improve Once That's Finally Out.
I was just looking at the stages and my first impression was *MINCEMEAT PTSD INTENSIFIES* but now looking at them and hearing chara talk about them makes me hopeful
I think that the gold dynamo kit is better than the vanilla dynamo kit. The main problem with vanilla dynamo is that it doesn't have a way to apply long range pressure. Splat bomb gives you a long range LETHAL poke option and super chump can provide some good pressure and protection.
Maybe Heavy Edit's gimmick is it works like a traditional fps minigun (think Team Fortress 2 Heavy's Minigun) where you full charge it then continue firing by just holding down the button for as long as you want(if you have the ink tank for it?) I'm not entirely sure that's the case, but the appearance of the ink-capsules constantly rotating in the back gives me that impression. That gives it strong synergy with its tacticooler too, letting it unleash a hailstorm of shots with high mobility + the lowest possible jump RNG
@@flango348 true... Though i hope if it does have 0 jump accuracy it ends up having that that "just keep firing" gimmick because otherwide it'll just be a more supportive naut without recharge/charge hold
I’m personally hoping every weapon would get a third kit, but the only ways I can see this happening which are both very far fetched at this point would be- extend the update cycle for another 2 years and add in third kits for all the weapons we got second kits for in their respective season, or the other option would be drizzle season next year adds in all the third kits at once for all the weapons after we just finish getting all the second kits. Either one would be crazy, so idk if they would happen, but a man can hope 💀
I main zimi, so I am VERY excited for Heavy Edit. Honestly I think this season looks really good, there is a lot of negativity and some of it is founded, but we’re still getting 2 new maps that both look pretty good, the new kits are ones we’ve wanted for a long time, and there’s more new music which I’m super excited for (Splatoon music gives me life)! I like the new main weapons, the new customization features are awesome, and the challenges are some of the best yet!
nobody seems to be talking about how much better the stages are conceptually though. like, the past few new stages were just backgrounds with a big pool and some platforms on them, for example, literally nothing about the geometry of barnacle and dime communicates that it's supposed to be in a mall. It feels like they came up with the stage and then picked a random theme to decorate it with. However the stage geometry seems a lot more integrated with the themes of these stages, especially crableg capital which is more vertical and comprised of a more square shape with spots that go outward from the construction to evoke a skyscraper being constructed, and while the other stage is a little less interesting, I still think the comparative originality of the geometry makes up for that.
On the topic of the low number of alternate kits, this could be because they are adding more varied content to the game with the additional challenge mode, spreading the teams behind the game thin. And with that same logic of them not having enough effort to give everything what we would want them to, there also the possibility for improvement from teams being freed from working on elements that have yet to be shown, like the tournament functionality of Splatnet 3 or Side Order, or even things they did not announce yet. Please note though that saying a team finishes work on their part makes them available to work on game content updates is a gross oversimplification, that in some cases, the freed people could not have the skills to assist in this way to bring the players more content in seasonal updates. There's a last thing regarding Splatoon related content in general that should also be taken in consideration: Nintendo very consistently does a september direct. While there is no certainty splatoon related news will be shared, it is also not impossible. In case it happened, it would have to be about things that can be released/shown independently of the seasonal updates.
I really wish that they made more walls inkable, even if they put the little ledge blockers that keep you from swimming up. It would just make it more pleasing to look at with ink and still give some functions like squid rolling off of it
It’s a shame how little content is coming is the anniversary update of all updates. Heck they’re not even acknowledging it as one! What’s worse is that we’re a full year into the game without every weapon having a 2nd kit. Even though we still have a lot more content compared to 1 and 2 in general, it’s still disappointing to see the game in a state like this. I hope the update can make up for its low expectations!
i agree, i think that the maps need more distinguishing and fun traits, and we should be getting more kits in each season. Also, there should be at the very least 2 balance patches per season.
@@Decidueyeaglit splatfests are more stale in this game and im pretty sure we all know shiver is more than likely going to win :/ plus splatfest are an LTM, they don’t affect everyday gameplay at all
@@bringbackthedarkness i've garnered over 400 people who are going to be on team frye and big man and we're teaming up to take down shiver, there's genuinely not a very high chance she's going to win
I feel like it All depends on Side Order, beacuse now probobly like 60-70% of Splatoon devs are working on DLC, so once they are done, they will have much more manpower for developing updates. I can see Chill Season being the worst, BUT being when the Side Order releases and then updates could get better
so hype to see the gimmic with the new splatling ,i think the edit will let us charge and tap to shoot whenever we want to release shots like a snipewrter
I feel like they have to be hiding something. I could see them adding the same amount of content in this update compared to previous ones, but I'd never think they would lower it for the literal anniversary of the game. Makes me think of new dlc news/release soon, or maybe those new ranked modes were scheduled but unfinished, so maybe there's gonna be a lot more content in winter season from what couldn't be put in drizzle season.
the devs said they aren’t adding a new ranked mode, and tbh even if the dlc does come out this season, that would be a cheap way to lessen the base update content in the game because not everyone will buy it :/
@@niar1726 in an interview they did back in spring, they said that they are going to work on improving existing ranked modes rather than adding in new ones, something along the line of adding in a new one would be too many rotations for ranked and people might not want to learn the new mode. You can look it up on youtube
I think there are less kits because the devs are also working on side order and that means when side order is released they should be able to add more content in each update
with that logic, it would make more sense towards the beginning updates, like chill season and even fresh season, but we are presumably around the time that side order is finishing but are still getting less content than before? either way, not everyone is going to get the dlc, so why should they have less content to mess around with?
i could see that for new weapons, stages, even new gear models. but kits? that seems like the easiest thing to add that should be added in bulk, as all it is is changing the sub and special, recoloring the model, and making a new icon.
I am still hoping we get third kits in general, even with all the new main weapons available in 3. It may be too much to ask for EVERY weapon to get a third kit but a guy can dream.
I’m hopeful too, s2 had so many 3rd kits and it just makes the game so much more fun, and now with so many specials in the game they can certainly create unique variations,,, also it’s splatoon THREE so maybe theyd do it just for that?? idk. personally I’m still waiting for a 2nd kit as a squiffer player 😭
Something totally unrelated but I think I need to say is that I'm really grateful to you because you always put the names of the songs that play at each part of the video. Such a nice detail bud!
honestly super excited for this season not even counting the new salmon stuff and big run/splatfest but the new kits look super fun especially excited to try the new slosher and splatling and as a Tri Stringer and Splat Brella player i'm super happy (all tho still sad no new Undercover kit)
I feel like if the trailer included the teaser of the next Grizzco weapon, the Big Run and the Shiver vs. Frye vs. Big Man splatfest (which I guess we kind of got at the end), the trailer at least would have been better in my opinion. What do you guys think? Also getting the Cap of Legend is going to be a pain. Fortunately, I am half way in terms of scales.
@metayoshi1712 the scales having such abysmal drop rates is the main reason I rarely bother with scale grinding What's the point in trying to other suits/special gear when getting a King takes forever, just to have stupidly low silver/gold drop rates? It just isn't worth my time at all
I'm pretty sure the new tri-stringer has super chump, as you can see from 7:38-7:40, right before the dread ringer takes them out, the stringer places down a super chump cannon before returning back to battle
I'm excited for the bow kit. I love tri stringer and reflux in my opinion sucks due to having poor range so having a bow with at least a decent kit makes me happy
It looks like the Heavy Edit splatling's shots parry/delete/nullify the damage of enemy ink while still allowing the shots to paint, in the trailer the gold dynamo should've hit the splatling with its vertical, but it did no damage and still painted
seeing the trailer got me so excited since all three of my favorite weapons (bow, goo, & dynamo) are getting new kits. kinda went through the five stages of grief over the new stringer but i'm looking forward to trying it out! i guess i'll be getting that gold super chump badge though
The thing about Gold Dynamo is while it's kit may not necessarily be better than V!Dynamo, it *for sure* is going to be worlds more fun to use honestly. Chump on it has genuine synergy, Splat Bomb gives it a super flexible tool that can also be used to threaten kills, zone people, and paint faster if needed - especially if you run savers, if it's suction for some reason it's instead a ridiculously useful zoning tool, and if it's curling then you suddenly have access to a really good movement option instead. Also no matter what sub it gets it has the option to do double sub when it uses chump, so honestly I don't think I'll look back much, if at all lol. No matter what it's sub ends up being I'm so excited for this weapon~ (also like, jet brella is so hype, the stringer has me really excited, im super excited to try the new slosher, the new splatling looks really good too, and GOLD DYNAMO IS HEEEEEEERE, im eating good this season lmao) Also on a different topic. Part of me genuinely believes at this point that a contributing factor to why new seasons are adding the amount of content they are is because of Side Order being developed at the same time. It reminds me of how back in Splatoon 2 post launch updates happened at their standard pace, chugging along, before Octo expansion came out, and then 3 months after that 4.0 dropped, adding the Kensa collection, with the big showy trailer. Then over the next 3 months they added 2 new specials, 2 new subs, a new stage, the reef got renovated, a salmon run stage was added, the next 3 kensa collections dropped, blackbelly was renovated, they added main power up, merged bomb defense and cold blooded, added standard alternate kits alongside some of this, and kelp dome was renovated. And then a bit after that sheldons picks dropped. (i remember staying up for this lol) Obviously that's not guaranteed to happen or anything but like, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if this happened again.
I honestly have no problems. It’s just more stuff I want, and A NEW TRI-STRINGER THANK YOU NINTENDO. Although It is a shame that third kits almost seem impossible at this rate
I dont know how to feel about the gold dynamo's kit. While i hate super chump, i realise it could work pretty well with dynamo and splat (or maybe suction, but not very likely) bomb to control space. I do miss the kensa dynamo kit though
I personally love this update! As someone who plays pretty often I like when any new content is released, not too picky about how much is in it but I understand that it doesn't have a lot. Could also be because they're getting side order ready btw.
My theroy is since they have new weapon variations, of the shooter, roller, charger, brush, blaster, bucket, and splating weapon, they're only four more new weapon variations left we can potentially see in the future with them being dualies, brella, bow, and splatana. Can't wait to see what they would do.
Dread can very clearly be seen getting a ton of 2 shot or 1 burst kills in its gameplay video, it's gimmick seems to be that it can 2 shot when it has no falloff only becoming a 3 shot when falloff is introduced. Continuing the trend of sloshers being op on release
I cannot fucking believe that I have been waiting a year for new splatana weapons and all they have given is is a deco, which is cool, but like, MORE SPLATANAS PLEASE. Also tri stringers cause that was also the other new weapon when the game came out
third kits are definitely still happening cause the tempered dynamo model has been added in the files of v4.1.0, and also its only the first two year of updates that they already planned from launch, but there's nothing saying that they have more stuff cooking for later
Tbh I do feel better about this season thus far then sizzle season. I guess the thing I hope is that they will do is alot of cleanup like buffs or map reworks and all. Or side order gets released this season that be nice.
Honestly. Even though the Gold Dynamo Roller kit is underwhelming (I'd personally like Ultrastamp). I'm glad we at least have a new way to play the dynamo
8:46 i really hope blob gets crab tank. The combo with that weapon and special will be insane and with line marker i think it's gonna be a really solid kit.
After a whole ass year of not getting any new stringers, (the main weapon Splatoon 3 tried to advertise and get excitement over at the beginning) as a stringer main, sprinkler for simply a new kit and not a new weapon is VERY underwhelming
Maybe they're going to focus on bringing in more new main weapons in during the main update cycle and then when the update cycle ends they'll do periodic 3rd kit drops
Honestly I wouldn’t mind that. Having new main weapons is always more exciting to me imo cuz I think they only have dualies, brellas, stringers and splatanas left to get new main weapons
honestly if they give a second kit to weapon that doesn't have one right now, these are on top of my list: 1. Range blaster (Hope for CRB or grim) 2. Splatana stamper 3.Undercover brella (hope for burst bomb or somethin) Also, great content. I learned alot from you :)
Tri-Stringer Pains well though! maybe not if you play it as you would a charger holding out for the oneshot, but mid range 1-1/2 charge spam paints fine. Sprinkler does nothing for it and now it's stuck with the two most do-nothing sub weapons in the game. At least toxic mist occasionally mixes up someone's power clam throw. P.S. The best hope for third kits at this point is so they can give every main weapon a kit with sprinkler on it.
everytime a competitive player comments on tri stringer i die a little inside tbh i watched the analysis on his vod channel and the moment i heard "no no sprinkler doesnt sound bad on it! stringer doesnt get special!" i clicked on another vid LOL
It really looks like it deflects enemy shots especially when the dynamo tries to flick at it. I was sure that was it’s “gimmick” but there’s no information on that at all. Would make sense because of the name.
Kit quantity does sting, but also when it comes to playing with people, they're either in camp too many Sheldon licenses or I got like zero. Which if I'm nintendo I probably have to strike a middle ground when it comes to updates.
I've got my fingers crossed that seeing that they are going slow with the kit releases, maybe they'll make the last update (or last two updates) blowouts with either every weapon getting a new kit or them doing that but split across two updates.
It's less content than I'd hope, but bear in mind they're working on Side Order in the background. With that probably not being far off, most of the manpower will be going into playtesting that rather than testing new kits
