I tend to find it "fine" that this perk relies on teammates. mostly because it is clearly designed to basically be a pseudo-wildcard/leech perk, where you get SOME of the benefits of everyone on your team. it should definitely be buffed to pull from more perks though.
I feel this perk is one of the effects of Warzonfiying every mode. This perk and the CCT comms vest would've been amazing if they brought back DMZ and these were high end loot. Very huge missed opportunity.
Lets hope Microsoft with there 3T networth does big things with the franchise when we return to them. Sony and PS4 fortnite battle royale clowns completely destroyed this franchise and the gaming industry. The PS4 era was so lame. I wanna see improved server tick rates, tweaked down lag compensation, priortize those with good internet first, spot on hit detection, improved bullet velocity, reinvented spawn systems, get rid of SBMM, tweaked down aim rotation, improved geographical searches I literally dont want to be getting into games with spanish and PR dudes ffs, get rid of battle royale and focus all resources on the core foundation of what cod was, get rid of tac sprint, bring back the super high jump animations we saw in BO2, etc on top of this. Get rid of 6 seasons and bring back 4 seasons of content, etc etc etc
I disagree. I think you're disregarding the fact that people play differently and some people value information over other things. There's nothing wrong with catering to other playstyles.
I sincerely do like the idea of having perks/equipment that have benefits from team coordination, but because of the way Call of Duty is, they will hardly be useful. But I like the option and would love to see the concept explored more, as it would further increase gameplay depth and interaction with the game’s systems.
Chaining streaks would be way too powerful, but a vest that let's you have a 4th streak and the ability to loop your streaks so you don't have to die to start building towards your first streak again would be awesome.
@@bioforce5Chaining streaks isn't nearly as OP as people think. It's been in plenty of CoD games and the perk is often not used because it's just not that much of an advantage
@@bioforce5Chaining streaks was a thing in COD and made those games extremely fun. People seem to think some stuff are OP because they haven't played the "best" games that had those mechanics. Like complaining about Ghost being active while standing still, while all of the "golden era" CODs had the same Ghost mechanic
@@aidanbaumstark5722 chaining streaks is OP as hell, are you joking? remember the classic "harrier - chopper gunner - nuke" combo from back in the day?
@@vectra8412 Yea, that was back in the day, when killstreaks were wayy more lethal. Nowadays what would you do with it? Sentry Gun into Vtol? placing the sentry is enough risk that you might as well just get the 2 more kills. And vtol usually only gets 2-4 kills (if you survive it being up the whole time) Keep in mind I'm talking relative to the other perks in the category. I'm not saying it's useless, but there are almost always better options
There making the perks way to complicated when it use to be super simple. If this is what’s out think what could be in the works for upcoming perks smh
This was the only way Sledgehammer could give us something like pick 10. Activision said cod will never get pick 10 again, so Sledgehammer compromised for the fans and when you combine vests and perks in certain ways, it behaves almost identically to a pick 10 system. Yeah it's sometimes a little weird, but I appreciate Sledgehammer trying to support what the fans want, while Activision forbids them from doing certain things.
There are so many perks in the tier 3 category that simply get outmatched. They should imo group Ghost, cold-blooded, sleight of hand, EOD and Tac mask in the tier 3 slot and make a tier 4 slot for all the remaining perks (maybe call it “Special Gear” or something alike since many of the perks are very niche). Many of the perks are interesting, but I wouldnt never run them because they simply are under powered in their current perk tier.
I really like this perk and it’s equivalent in WW2, but my problem with it and the rest of the gear in this game is that there’s too much. It’s like Basic Training in WW2, too many options with not enough space to use them all. I also want them to add a zoom in and out animation instead of just snapping between map sizes. Makes it easier to gather information that way.
What’s happened to war mode? I’ve tried to get a game and it’s impossible to find one. I have no problem getting into any other game mode. Is it just me, or are other people experiencing this problem?
I’m experiencing the same bro, having to turn cross play on to get a game in war and even then it’s taking a while to find a game. Shame because it’s a really nice change of pace from conventional multiplayer
part of me likes the idea of "team" perks, mechanical payoff for coordination. but realistically if a team is coordinating, they're just gonna stomp anyway. and even then, is this BETTER than people just using their normal perks and talking to each other?
I don't think it is better. This is another case of COD trying to be too strategic for that they can actually provide and handle. This game is MUCH faster pace than something like Battlefield, which clearly COD has been trying to copy for years(vice versa too) and consequently making the game worse. It also makes people too reliant on these team perks rather than having each player play to their own strengths. These team perks don't really allow much reaction and planning time to be used in this game. If it was slower paced, sure.
I think it's a cool idea, the idea of being essentially a relay for information for your teammates, but I think it would be much more interesting if it just was a much stronger benefit that also worked on yourself. If it relayed all sources of intel, (including things like engineer, if people are using it, for example) regardless of range, to you and your nearby teammates, then maybe it'd be a better pick, especially if you yourself are using something like engineer or CCT.
I get what they were going for, a perk which is about picking up/sharing signals from team-mates, but it's like you say... the average CoD lobby just doesn't have that kind of cooperation and coordination. It really needs a couple of good solid base perks (like the larger minimap, and extended pings by default) and then bonus stuff which triggers based on proximity to other players and what perks they have. Like getting the benefits of Engineer/Data Jacker if you have a nearby teammate with that equipped, as if they're spotting the enemy equipment and calling it out for you over comms. Or being able to see enemy footsteps when you're near a teammate who has Blacklight equipped (again, as if they're sharing info over comms).
Thank you for all you do! I was just looking at this perk yesterday and they’re making these way too complicated/complex, which is odd thinking about their “beginner friendly” direction.
I didn’t know the perk existed till this video and I love it! I hated how the mini map is so zoomed in and now I feel like I have so much more information 😀
Ace, do the effects of CCT Comms Vest and High Gain Antenna stack? Usually the description is clear on if effects do not stack and gives you the abilities of another perk.
Man do most streamers now reverse boost. The reaction time of all your enemies is NO WHERE NEAR THE NORMAL PLAYER OF THE GAME, it’s like your playing bots compared to the players I play against. Their reaction time is literally multiple seconds compared to the normal milliseconds of most my lobbies. COD STREAMERS ARE GETTING BORING TO WATCH NOW BECAUSE POF THIS. And no it’s not my ability compared to yours, it’s your enemies being 100x easier than most everyone else playing the game. STREAMING HAS LITERALLY BECOME A LIE TO PEOPLE TO GET PAID 🤡
Way too complicated for a FPS that measures reactions in micro-seconds. Speaking for myself, trying to watch my HUD to see what my equipment is telling me will only get me killed more often than not. Plus, as far as team mates are concerned, all my former mates have left CoD behind due to its changing nature compared to back in Black Ops 1 times so I’m on my own. That being said, while I’m playing mosh pit modes I will play the objective in Domination and Hardpoint matches and help out (unknown) team mates.
It's unfortunate that we have come from Birdseye as a great perk to this bastardization. I was glad at first that Snipers finally get a fitting perk for them, but it turns out that it's just not worth it, the same way it's not worth it to use CCT vest as a Sniper because you can never collect the data from enemies. Occasionally SHG really does unreasonable stuff, especially when it comes to the Sniper and Recon builds. I'll still be waiting for a proper Sniper vest, similar to Birdseye. Zoomed out map, Directional arrows for enemies on minimap and a UAV sweep on kill in exchange of locking out every perk slot except gloves.
With regard to your question: I think it's interesting to introduce mechanics like this which give teams the option to gain an advantage by building some players in more supportive roles. Though, it should merely be an option and not the dominant playstyle (it would no longer feel like COD). As a player that usually just frags out by himself, it can already be oppressing to run into a 6-man. I just think this perk is not executed well.
It's next to useless (compared to alternatives) even in a premade team where everyone has the proper vests / perks for full benefits. Who is ever going to benefit from spotting equipment ONLY if you're staring at the compass for the specific round dot AND are within 10 meters? Half a second longer on weapon pings is also a joke.
I’ve got a question that didn’t seem to get covered here: If I’m running the high gain antenna, does it count MYSELF if I’M the one wearing a CCT comma vest? So if you run both are you covering yourself or do you still need a buddy?
Thank u for explaining this dumb ass perk I'm never going to use again lol sometimes I try to build a class for every situation and weapon class so I try perks like this and don't understand the description fully ... conclusion... useless 🤣🙏🏽💯
Considering that COD is a solo game with 5 other players accomplishing a similar objective, this perk isn't useful. Team play is rare unless you have a full squad of 6 with good communication. Other than that, it's 6 players who are only out there for their own interest, and consider the other 5 players nuisances or pawns.
Why tf are they leaning so heavily into "teamwork" this season? Between this, rewarding you with bonus XP for landing together in Warzone - who dropped acid at SHGames and thought this through?
I think perks and vests need to be significantly rebalanced. The modular assault rig makes the demolition vest useless. Either the vest has too many useless powers it gives you and sacrifices a perk, equipment or field upgrade & it never feels worth it. The ninja vest for example seems completely useless. The compression vest let's you keep all your perks and doubles your tactical and lethal instead of waiting 25 seconds for a throwing knife.
I personally believe the mindset of players surrounding this perk is a bit wrong. If my class setup is designed around other benefits, AND I wanted a zoomed out minimap, I'll use this. At its absolute core, that's all it does, and there's nothing wrong with that. There may be other powerful options, but that's what I'm going to use to get the job done. The extra perks are completely bonus, if someone else is meeting the requirements. With that being said, it makes no sense to judge this perk on those merits.
Make the additional benefits weaker if there's no team mates using those perks, but make them actually good if they are. At least then, there'd be more utility, but if you can synergize with your team, the perk gets even better. Not broken and OP better, but more effective. Brighter dots, longer lasting dots, etc. This is a neat idea though. I actually like the idea of getting benefits if you work with your team and not against them so much. Nothing wrong with a little teamwork.
In other words, this perk was added for the sake of adding a perk: something new and shiny to disappointed us. Whoever okayed this should first made to play the game, snd second fired gross stupidity. Sincerely. Im glad these people work on CoD and didn't try to use their intelligence and skill set to solve real problems. So, nevermimd. Make them play the game and dont fire them. They might end up in a real life occupation where good judgement matters.
This perk is garbage. Just like the Coms vest. It makes the minimap go crazy and there's no way to turn it off besides being forced to use the perk. It HAS gotten me killed multiple times
I agree, they should keep experimenting with team play perks but using it as a solo player and it relying heavily on your team mates who probably don't even use the vest it not good I'm better off just using the CTT coms vest myself and gained all the benefit with no downsides which i dont mind it's my second favorite perk vest in the game.
I like the zoomed out minimap a lot, but it's just not quite valuable enough vs other perks in the category for me. I *do* like the idea of perks having peripheral effects based on allies, but it still needs a strong enough core to support its use in spite of what allies run. Maybe they'd be better off having one more slot, like a "coms" slot that is entirely based on gaining benefits based on allied gear? Idk. Either way, the core of the perk needs to be stronger to be worth using atm.
I dnt get what their infatuation with making the perks vests & equipments (gloves boots) all do the same things. Its stupid & creating unnecessary overlap. I feel i can never create an effective class cuz m always missing out on something important or im being countered in some way. I miss the simple times with 3 or 4 perks & 3 perk slots. All this extra shit is annoying
If they leaned this game into a more Black Ops 4 team playing experience perks and vests like this wouldn't be bad at all. But unfortunately the series is being juggled through hands who don't know what they want to do
I have to disagree. Everything should not be solo player only. It would be nice to have some teamplay oriented things, as long as they dont break the game by being op vssolo player. Its just an option to throw something with ur friends to get most out of it. I dont think this perk being issue to anybody by existing. Also the perks have uses in wz side of things where squads could max out the use. Its no means a game changer but its an option for team play. I think majority of things should be catered to solo players but not everything.
Seems like the vast majority of the perks are terrible leaving us with only a few viable choices for most situations. Dunno why the high gain wasn't just a carbon copy of the vest like the others, but alright.
I just want a gunsmith vest that allows one extra primary attachment at the expense of a secondary, maybe even a gear slot. I think that’s a fair compensation
What a bizarre perk. I feel like if you are grouping up with s bunch of people to use this, just have everyone running more meta perks and stomp the enemy team
I feel as though this perk should also give the effects of Forward Intel from previous games. So many things requiring other players to be doing specific things is not really good for a game that doesn't exactly reward working as a team.
If you could see the loadouts of your teammates during the match then supportive options like this would be significantly more fun & viable to use. I'm completely relying on the chance a teammate is using a CCT comms vest without any reliable way to know if they do and which teammate they are. I'm the type of person that loves COOP games and would have fun synergizing with my team of randoms in a public lobby (Helldivers 2 is a great example of this in action) but the game gives us zero information to do so. A feature like this would bring back a lot of comradery to lobbies again even with them disbanding!
I think it could only be useful if ur squaded up and playing ground war/invasion. Like big maps where u need to find others, i could maybe see a SnD squad making use of it but enemy team will likely run ghost etc. The regular MP modes are too fast for these kind of scouting perks Etc
A little fix to the jarring minimap change would be to have a 'fuzzy' edge added to the minimap which clears up when a teammate with the perk equipped is nearby. As a reasonable compromise, have the zoom out be gradual instead of instant.
I think there is a very interesting opportunity to have perks like this that benefit from having a friend work with you. This is not handled very well, I don't like how this works, but I can see where you could make a form a perk or even better a vest, where the whole point of that vest is shared Intel between teamates. Maybe call it something like the radio vest, or the Intel translator vest. Like as long as you're in a 30m range of a teamate, any teamates within 30m of you gain those benefits, if maybe a weaker version. Basically it's a support role where your whole purpose is to be able to share certain perks between teammates, at the cost of you not having very many yourself by default (Edit: Maybe to help make it easier to k own which perks you have, there can be a little HUD on the bottom left of your screen that shows which perks you're gaining, and show the squadmate that has the perk/vest)
Honestly with all the hoops you have to go through for the perk to be good, I'd rather just run the CCT Comms vest instead which I already do use on roughly 2 of my class setups when I wanna play a more supportive role for the team. Otherwise its just every man for himself trying to frag and stay alive lol
Did you test it with a vest that allows you to run 2 perks, 1 being antenna, 2nd being the comms perk or the signal jammer to see if it gives you hidden benefits? Usually if you're stacking things it say it replaced this and that. This case it doesn't. Be cool to see if there's a op hidden perk.
This is all about giving players options in my games there is always someone using CCT com-vest and Signal jacker. in the lower SBMM tiers People use all kind of perks and guns they they like as no one try sweat 24/7 and on top of this when i play with my friends who SBMM tier is higher then me and i cant do anything i run full intel/intel denial support as to still help out so in not holding them back so me being able to share intel with them mean a lot and this perk help with that i want to to add more perks like this not everything need to be sweat gear there are players like me who have fun just playing the game the way we like to play winning is cool and all but for some its not all that doing our best with the play style we make is fun for us
At this point Sledgehammer seem to be adding content just for the sake of adding content. I just wish I could instantly see as we could in CW or even WW2(they even had a perk for this in this game) the tag of the enemies at a certain distance and not have to wait till they shoot me to know they are enemies, just a small thing not so important for them.
I’ve played so much with the comms vest since launch I can’t even read the regular map anymore 😭😭 I have to not use ghost on anything to keep my map up awareness is key
