I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like the styling of this car. If Toyota made it awd and added a turbo this thing could give the wrx a run for its money.

PERFECT FIT for me! Just bought one 2 weeks ago... I freaking LOVE it!! I'm basically a tom-boyish mom with kiddos and I went from driving a 1992 Mazda Miata to driving SUVs for almost 15 years, so I am ECSTATIC that Toyota made an affordable, practical, family car with some horsepower that I can drive and enjoy like a sports car even with my kiddos in tow! My son laughs everytime I get on it, and I am having a BLAST! All its looks including the wing are just right up my alley! GREAT job Toyota, thanks for creating the perfect car for me!

Really hope Toyota will make an AWD version of this TRD Camry!

I think Toyota made the right decision to make this more "hardcore" and to compromise on comfort, people who want something comfortable can get the non TRD V6 Camry instead, this way they offer a model for every taste and have something unique in this segment.

Remember that the Lotus Evora uses a supercharged version of this V6. If this Camry TRD had that engine, it'd be glorious.

It looks sexy as hell and that TRD exhaust sounds really good

$32 for a V6 Toyota with TRD is pretty damn good

Some of the TRDs come with summer performance tires so this may have led to the extra noise and feel of bumps, as well as you are riding on 19' wheels. Someone could always just change out the tires and wheels to 18' high performance all season which would add more comfort, keep most of the performance, and increase quietness in the cabin.

I just bought my Camry trd. As an everyday daily driver. Back and forth to work or when I’m my self. When my family and kids are together. We choose to go in her vehicle. But I love my car. Awesome video.

Bought the white version. 32k out the door. What a blast to drive while maintaining a certain practicality. The sound on throttle is cool. All in all a decent value for a 6 banger.

This Camry TRD is a great gas sedan. However if you do not want to be as flashy you can always get that Camry V6 XSE. It’s a great option if u practically want the same vehicle, Also you have more freedom to design your Camry, like that moon roof and other features like heated seats/steering wheel + more!

Remember there’s always aftermarket vent inserts for real functional performance or fog light inserts the wing is so gt wish I had one it sounds so good .

TRD camry started in 1997 when there was a factory supercharger options with suspension upgrades.

Definitely a buy, I am a Toyota fan. For years people have been saying Toyota is boring. Toyota CEO of Japan heard all the complaints. Therefore, he mandated that Toyota being some emotion to it's cars. Of course, Toyota has standards and they hold back in some areas.

The rear wing is the only thing that I'm not sure about but everything else is cool and with all these TRD upgrades a RWD car would be the finishing touch.

I love that you no how to do a proper exhaust test most people pump it to 3krpm and let go. You full send that how it is done!!!!!

The transmission is the only downside, they didnt even change the shift points or engine throttle mapping as far as ive come to know

Well done man. I LOVE this car! Really AMAZING what Toyota was able to do at this price point. Although a turbo would have been nice having that smooth-running V6 means this engine is going to last for a long time. Toyota has that reputation for its legendary reliability for a reason. That is why I bought a Toyota last year but sadly I could not fit that Toyota and this beautiful TRD Camry in my "two" car garage :( Keep up the great work! On the positive note, it looks like these TRD Camry's are really selling. That might encourage the higher-ups and investors to put more resources into future TRD Camrys such as maybe including a 6 speed manual and a LSD as an option? Simple truth, if people want manuals, buy them!

Dope looking Camry! But I honestly like the xse trim more. It's more appealing and "balanced". The white xse with the red interior has to be one of the sexiest cars on the road today.

Just found your channel on suggested, awesome review, you earned my sub around minute 2 haha. Always have a spot for a quality reviewer in my watch list. This car is so good looking, girlfriend and I are looking for a bigger sedan to replace our Jetta when baby #2 shows up and I’d rather grab a sedan than an suv. Stinks to hear the ride is a little rough but that is absolutely the trade off, it will be interesting to see what the price is on the used market in about a year or two. Camrys hold pretty well but if it was around 25 that’s a deal. Keep these quality reviews coming and keep working hard man, good work!

So it's definitely a pass I was actually going to purchase a TRD, but I'm glad I watched your video because I got a chance to see where the TRD lacks compared to the XSE. Not gonna to lie, when I found out that Toyota let TRD have their way with the Camry I was actually freakin stoked, Infact I actually drove the LE which is under The XLE it hooks pretty good on corners as well. So I definitely won't have a problem letting go of that stiffer suspension, mostly because I want that smooth ride when I'm cruising on the highway. I'd definitely stick with the XSE mostly because of the options that I want, like the sunroof and especially the JBL sound system that is a must, so much so that when I heard you say in the video that thE TRD does not offer the JBL sound system I was completely over the TRD. and you're right the TRD based off what I seen in the video hooks hard.

I have a 2019 Camry XSE and would of loved it if they brought that interior to this car and it would of have the nicer gauges with bigger screen, better center screen and the dual climate zones. But I love the styling of this car

You said there was something special going on in the trunk but there was nothing, great review nonetheless, I was debating on trading my loaded '17 Sr Turbo Sentra in on one of these for the extra power but after this excellent review I think I'll stick with my extra options over the extra hp

smack a turbo and a TRD tuned exhaust and intake also some manual options, maybe AWD. But they don't want it to compete with the supra

I don’t understand the market Toyota’s trying to capture with these TRD Camry and Avalons. Performance enthusiasts can get more dedicated performance oriented cars for similar money like the Impreza or Civic with a manual. This car compromises comfort the typical buyer is looking for in a sedan like this. Lost me.

For myself, like you mentioned, the lack of the JBL sound system is a deal breaker, and the inability of folding down the rear seat is another bummer. I would rather have a Corolla SE or XSE with the JBL stereo, which is what I plan to get anyway. Otherwise, it is what it is. I would prefer the Avalon TRD for the niceties this lacks, if you like the huge size and can afford, and don't mind paying a lot more.

But can you really compare a oem 2.0T Accord to a modified oem camry?

In my opinion, this is a great second car but not as a daily driver with family. I would drive it for fun if I am by myself on the weekends. Between, I love my 2014 Toyota Camry SE V6. It is still stiffer than a normal Camry but not so much that my family would complain about the comfort.

You mentioned something that several other reviewers failed to catch, and that's the updated transmission shift logic which lets you go all the way up to redline in manual mode. As far as I know, the regular Camry V6 will actually short shift you before redline even if you have it in manual mode, but the TRD does not. Another thing you noticed is the awful turning radius, something which I hope you will touch on in future reviews of other cars, because a bad turning radius makes the car much harder to park / 3 point turn / etc. If I were to buy this car (too late now, as I have a '19 IS350 AWD F-Sport, which has its own merits), I would throw some stickier tires on there (like Michelin AS3+ or even Pilot Sport 4S), and that's pretty much all I would need to do to this car in order to improve it significantly. Did you find the lack of a folding rear seat to be a problem at any time during the road trip, or during the time you had the car?

Is it me or has the Camry resembled the tc ever since the tc and Scion in general was retired after 2016.

I want a car with a CBR1000RR motor in it. A light car to convertible would be nice. Man that motorcycle car from j leno garage show case was so amazing. Only option is the slingshot for now.

If it was my money, I would probably go for an Accord Sport with 6spd, but the Mazda 6 Grand Touring Reserve would also be on my short list. Once the upcoming Sonata N-Line and rumored Optima GT are introduced, I would have to reevaluate. They both sound very promising. The Camry TRD would be more attractive in my eye without the boy racer rear wing. A rear lip spoiler would have been a much better decision.

It an good family car, it carrys the person where they needs to go

Only bad part is that it still has the same 301 hp engine that’s in the camry xse v6. Toyota should make a twin turbo camry trd v6 or a supercharged one.
