Surprise, surprise the middle class lovey came out with an answer like that. She is white & Im white but my white skin certainly didn't give me privilege. Come up to the council estates in Newcastle pet & find out.

@@bettyswunghole3310 like someone else said, probably been brainwashed in uni. Loads of people like this when I was there, book smart but not very wise to the world
British people experienced more extreme, prolonged occupation and enforced/captive slavery during the many years of Barbery Slavery when compared to the Trans-atlantic Slave Trade. It's time people learned their history xx
@@typetwo Perhaps not in numbers of individuals being captured between the 16th and mid 18th century but the methods also GREATLY differ. Barbary slavery was incredibly harsh forced labour where the captives were literally worked to death and those who could be held for ransom were until either a reward was sought and the person freed or a reward was sought and the person not freed, nor killed but traded onto hard labour. The major difference is that we never sold, traded or worked our own people as slaves, unlike the Transatlantic Slave Trade. There were no hunting companies formed for capturing African slaves as their own people did that work for them for a price. Towns and Villiages in the UK celebrating midsummer would perform an ancient, pagan type ritual (the only non-Christian holiday observed at the time was Midsummer) where people declared protection from thieves, as Midsummer was the high-season for Barbary Piracy and domestic thievery. You also would struggle to capture as many people in the UK as were captured in Africa - our landmasses and populations still differ greatly today, despite our influx of uncontrolled immigration. At the end of the day, suffering is suffering - any slavery is and has been abhorrent to the people of the UK for hundreds of years, we've even given our lives to stop deportation and capture of slaves. Sadly, Africa and the ME still find slavery to be acceptable with almost no international outcry x
@@typetwo The numbers of Europeans enslaved by Barbary pirates and held in North Africa, and the Africans enslaved by Africans, bought by Europeans, and transported to the Americas by Europeans are believed to be of a similar scale. However, as one group of slaves have no appreciable number of descendants due to the much harsher conditions of slavery, there is no agitation for reparations from the countries that perpetrated that much more brutal form of slavery.
@@paulcampbell840 I hear you. When I looked into the Barbary slave trade a few years ago the estimated numbers varied so wildly that I had a hard time coming to a conclusion about that specific issue. (I did read however, that when the Russian Serfs were freed in 1861, 23 Million White Europeans were freed at once and I think this puts things in perspective a bit. The slavery topic has been monopolised by one race's grievance politics.) I realise that part of the difference behind how these things are seen now, is to do with the record keeping by the Europeans. I read a passage from Hansard about how the slaves were used as blood sacrifices in West Africa circa 1800's. That completely shaped my view on this period. You have to go back a long time to find the same level of savagery in Britain. (I am suddenly completely incensed at the hypocrisy when I hear 2nd generation African migrants complaining about Rule Britannia!) As for whether it was worse to be a black slave on tea plantation in the Caribbean or a white slave in the Middle-East, I wouldn't want either and who can really know?!
@@bitterqueen7065Like the Barbary slave trade? You mean slavery like that? Or do you not know about that because systemic racism against white people includes the fact you were never taught it in school?
If you read Orwell's "Road to Wigan Pier" you'll see described, working conditions for white English people, as bad or worse than any other slavery being cited,
And Ireland had the Great Famine at the hands of the British, but yet the immigrants here demand that we give them everything for free and call us racist. Boils my piss.
These are just a set of phrases stuck together. I don't have a college degree. I've gone from job to job across Britain. Of course it is RACIST. I shouldn't even have to explain this.
Do you not think this channel, given its prior content should be slam'd with accountability and squeezed of its views? No? These people are the same people who would make you explain climate change because "UH it's the John Malkovitch cycle UUUUHHHH"
Saying white lives matter is racist, she needs to look at herself in the mirror again. Racism is not only for black but all colour, race , religion etc. All lives matter.
Can't really be racist to a religion RACEist... Religion is man made waffle and it's a separate issue of brainwashing ( that's not too say there's no creator)
It’s her sort that use skin colour based insults like “Gammon”,this is an insult used by the left to describe a white person turning the colour of a Gammon joint
The judge swore to serve the crown (London city Square mile) and that seems to be where the psychopaths pushing the divide and conquer techniques reside.......
Start a petition to get the guy freed that would be more helpful than going around just asking people what they think, get names on paper and send it to the government as it’s only them that can put things straight. People can talk about this as much as they like but that’s not helping the poor man and his family,we all know it’s wrong except for them far leftists who are the most racist of them all.
And please do tell me... When was the last petition that went to the government actually taken any notice of and the publics wishes acted upon???? The whole gov petition thing is just more bs theatre to make peasants think they have a say in anything.. the system is corrupt as fk
Does the girl in the green jacket know there is a double ‘t’ in the word matter and better? It’s not pronounced as maaar! The gentleman in the blue jacket and flat cap is so sensible.
As a white soldier in the British Army between 1989 - 95 (RAOC), my WO1 was racist towards me on a daily basis whilst we served together at Donnington. He was black and he got away with it because of his rank.
"We're all the same, We're all living the same lives" such delusion! Our skulls are different, we look different, we CLEARLY Act different. Not even people from the same race are the same we are all DIFFERENT INDIVIDUALS!
Is white not a colour? Always thought the term was dumb af as if someone with a certain skin colour is of colour but if you have a different colour skin, you aren't of colour. Makes no sense lol. But yes, obviously you call white people white people
Every life matters, I don’t think we should be trying to have more division by asking silly questions like this. We all matter. We all deserve compassion. We all deserve respect
I’m starting to understand why we didn’t let women vote.. also understand why Muslims treat women the way they do. Don’t mean I agree with it I just understand it now.
Very enlightening. A different selection of views - and some of them rather difficult to fathom. However, always nice to see what is going through peoples' minds, especially on a topic such as this.
what do you mean? ´white lives matter´ does not mean ´white jewish lives matter´. only ´white jewish lives matter´ means ´white jewish lives matter´. btw ´jewish lives matter´ already included so called ¨white jews¨.
At the time of the BLM movement there was a sign outside a travellers camp a few miles from us that was hand painted on a piece of plywood which read (actual spelling) "gypsys lifes mater aswel" 😂
It's a class position upper class middle class always do alright the rest of us have always to fight for a good life And fair play its always been this way snobbery is still going strong
The guy that said "we're all living the same life" is absolutely spot on, skin colour is totally unimportant, it's all about your character to any serious person, I'm half-Indian and half-British, proper racism in Britain is almost non-existent, im 40 and I can think of about 3 times in my whole life I've ran into an actual racist, 99.9% of people I've met are sound, they might ask me a question about India or something, but that's just curiosity, I find just try to embrace people rather than judging them is the way forward
Wow!! Just wow!! I don't think most of those people truly believed in what they were saying, they were just afraid of saying the wrong thing. However, the gentleman in the blue top and cap absolutely got it spot on, well done sir 👏 the others were just wet wimps.
Black lives matter White lives matter Asian lives matter Women's lives matter It's segregation, divisive, putting people into groups... and why? We're all one group, one race, the human race.
The term racism, is defined by discriminating against anyone just because of culture or skin colour. Supremacy is not exclusively because of white skin, but attitude and actions towards others
You can definitely tell that isn't America. People actually having their own opinions and thinking for themselves instead of just parroting the latest partylines
I'm white and have absolutely no shame about my people's history at all......would you expect a black man to feel ashamed of all of his people's crimes as well?
All racial groups have a minority racist element. But the majority of people have more immediate concerns. Such as going to work, to earning money to pay your way through life.
