Joe! You totally jinxed yourself on the disconnect! I've been on the good & bad side of the 'disconnect issues' since launch - but when it works, it works! Keep up the hard work, I know these take some time to put together, so I really appreciate it!!
Yes Joe I can confirm that since last update I’m having lots of disconnects my speed training initially seemed accurate but has become very erratic and when on the range my club speed and smash factor are not reading properly either..although the carry and total distance still seems quite accurate..this is quite disappointing but thanks for keeping the community informed and up to date

Excellent demonstration! As far as E6 Golf, I have had numerous missed readings and it’s always the shots I hit flush. Like you said, it’s very frustrating! How far is your MLM2 from your ball position, and what is your ball position to the screen. Thanks for the info on the MLM2, very informative!
Thanks mate! Yes literally always the flush shots... Not even kidding. I have mine at just over 7ft unit to ball and then just over 9ft ball to screen. It's really annoying because when this thing works the accuracy is incredible! Literally hangs with a GC Quad. I really hope they can fix the stability and missed shots. To be fair I didn't have any missed shots so that's the one positive of the beta for me.
Following up after doing some speed training with my rypstik a couple times since the firmware update. Zero connection issues but I always do a local connection through my phone. I've gotten my normal play swing up to around 122 on average, carrying 305 to 315 depending on spin. I use the red generic speed radar usually from Amazon for speed training. It will sometimes give inflated readings due to I believe catching the toe of the club, but I'm consistently in the low to mid-130s during speed training when I end with my driver swings. The mlm2 doesn't get my club head speed over 122 during speed training for my driver or the rypstik, while my speed radar is in the 130s. It will still be nice to have two data points to show improvement, but I think once you get to really high swing speeds the mlm2 is going to struggle. I live in Illinois near Chicago and playing an indoor golf league every week which uses the uneekor overhead launch monitor and my ball speeds are always in the 180's with low to mid 120's swing speeds on gspro software. My wife will never let me get a track man or gc quad for garage golf, but i still like my mlm2 pro to keep my swing going all winter. 👍
Mate that's awesome! And that is strong! 💪 Love the speed and I'm hoping I can get mine back up to where I was before my driver broke. The speed feature is absolutely fantastic on the MLM2PRO
This is reassuring to see. It's odd, I get the most misreads from E6, then Awesome Golf, and then the best performance in Rapsodo courses. It's also very possible that you have a much better set up than most, so small firmware updates cause bigger issues on the rest of us! I have a lot of concrete, and fluorescent light for example 😅 I'm also using my phone as a hotspot, as I can't get a router in my garage which can't help so I'm hesitant to attribute connection issues to rapsodo as it's likely a setup issue.
That's a really good point! My set up is a very clean environment for the units so yes it's quite possible that others are having issues due to different conditions.. really good comment!
Had the exact same issue with E6 on the new beta. Couldn't get off the first tee. Exactly why I keep preaching that they should make Rapsodo Courses way better. Solves for a bunch of problems (too many 3rd party integrations distracting from core product being right up there).
Yeah e6 has just been a problem for Rapsodo since launch.. I don't get it as Awesome Golf is super stable for me! It's a real shame as e6 is a fantastic experience for Sim golf that should be included for free. I used it sooooo much on my R10 when it was my first and at the time only launch monitor 🤣. Man I know Aviara country club and Bandon dunes like the back of my hand lol 😂
This worries me as I run the same connectivity setup as you with the same WiFi extender, And after the last update I do have the occasional issue with the app crashing after getting connected and going to the range to get it setup for GSPro, but normally after a restart I’m good to go. I really don’t want to go back to connectivity issue because before the big update a few weeks it was running flawless and was happy as can be. Fingers crossed I guess. I might turn off auto updates in the App Store to be on the safe side until hopefully this all gets worked out.
That's a good idea! Yeah I have sent my video to Rapsodo and they have watched it and I'll fill out the survey form as well. This beta update genuinely shocked me I thought I was over the connection issues 😭😭
So glad I stuck with my R10, I will wait for Garmin new launch monitor or jump up to one of the next level devices. Great your keeping us up to date with good honest testing
It's funny how different experiences change views. I personally would never go back to my R10 after getting g the MLM2. Way more accurate and actually picks up woods.
Thanks mate! Yeah it's had a rough road the Rapsodo.. It was so consistent there for me for the last 6 months. I hope this beta update doesn't get pushed through... What old is It seems to be working for some people. I'll just report back everything that I've seen and then leave it up to Rapsodo to make their decision. It seems strange though people having very different experiences with the same software update
I went to the driving range nearly every day this week. On one of the days winds were gusting to 19 mph. Yesterday, I played in calm conditions. Reported clubhead speeds with a ball appear to be about 10% higher than experienced with the same clubs, when used on the Speed feature. I normally enter as "Other speed training system."
I was having some disconnects as well on the last update. I ordered a Ethernet to usb C dongle. Going to run the Ethernet right to my tablet and try that.
It’s borderline opening week bad since the last update. App constantly crashes…red lights mid session. Was great for a couple of months, I want to revert.
I’ve never had any connection issues using the MLM2’s own wifi, i only use this for the driving range and as a way to improve though, not for a simulator. Think rapsodo are trying to fit too much into this unit they had it perfect before the last update for accuracy and connection!
It has been extremely stable for me for the last 6 months. I do love that they are always trying to improve the product! And they listen to their customers which is really cool. We just need a bit more stability 😭😭. Yes the direct connection method is quite stable and this thing is fantastic on the driving range!
I was half thinking about rebuying the MLM2Pro, this has convinced me not to. Its coming up to a year old product now and still having connectivity issues 😲. Looks like the GC2 is not going on ebay. Any news on the 3 month extended premium membership for early adoptors? Unfortunately there's nothing as accurate for the price.
GC2's are awesome! I miss mine lol wish I kept it. No I haven't heard about the 3 month extension... I'll inquire about that though! Yes when this thing works it is absolutely incredible how accurate it is!!
Yes originally direct connect was a LOT more stable for me until I got my wifi extender and then it was ROCK SOLID until this most recent update for some reason.

Had mine since around Christmas. Been pretty good so far besides no reads but can live with that. This morning i hit about 40 shots. All of a sudden the light went flashing purple. Since then no camera. Connects just fine but cant even view alignment. When i go to any of the play areas just a blue light and no camera. Any idea what purple means? Its not listed in the startup guide
No the room lighting doesn't affect anything in terms of data with the MLM2PRO in my experience. I have done a lot of testing with lights on and off.. I even did a video explaining this. The only light the MLM2PRO needs is for the swing camera.
Joe, is there any way to connect the mlm manually with ip-adress setup instead of just auto? Either in a config file or a graphic page where you can do this manually?
I would like to see if there are some config files somewhere, cause i think the solution is much more simple than it looks. Many people are using dual routing in their hose without they know, and that causes a very unstable network. From what i read, most get it stable on their 5g connection?
Haven't had many issues with the Rapsodo disconnecting and the app itself. I have a mesh system and brought one of my router units into the garage and it works fine. The only issue I have really come across is the E6 missed shots. I was playing on 2/16 with my nephew and it was like 1 out of every 4 shots was missed entirely. Only had 1 disconnect from E6 though. I am going to try awesome golf this week per your suggestion. I do want to get E6 basic once it is playing better though with hopes that Rapsodo will finally get some PC support. But, fix what is not working first I guess and then move to PC support for E6 and GSpro.
Yeah it was working great for me the past 6 months until this beta update.. I'll feed it all back through. Awesome golf is fantastic mate and great for kids. Mine love it!
Hey mate are you just talking about the Rapsodo courses? Yes I did test them and they are getting better and better but I unfortunately had a few disconnects. They did all rectify themselves though!

Hey mate, so you don't actually connect the Rapsodo to the projector.. I connect my iPad to the projector via an HDMI cable.. I have a 10 m long HDMI cable that I've pinned to my roof and plug into my projector and then run down the wall and I plug it in to my computer or my iPad if I'm using my MLM 2 Pro.
I've definitely experienced both ends of the spectrum one where I seem to be the only one having issues with the unit and then after updates and some troubleshooting mine was working fantastic and others were having issues 🤣🤣. Now I'm the one having issues again with this recent beta update! 😭
He didn't have disconnect issues before the firmware update. Neither did many of us. I went from being able to play a round no problem on Awesome Golf to it's missing 5/10 shots after update. A lot of people had no problem with it update, but for a lot of us it has made the device unusable.
@richwar2417 Not doubt your experience but he has been having connection problems with his modem since day 1. His first tip in his first video for connection problems was to try a wifi extender because that is what worked for him. That is a big red flag on the modem and is likely the cause for his issues. You might want to track your problem all the way back to the source to make sure the update is actually the problem. All my tech buddies agree that if the update is only a problem for some it is likely user error.
Joe said in the video that he hasn't had connection issues for months. Saying user error doesn't make sense for a lot of people though. Their device worked and then it didn't anymore post update.
Yes you are probably right with the modem it really just doesn't play nice with the Rapsodo that being said it's definitely not trash it was quite expensive and ice never had any issues with any other devices that connect to it. The wifi extender has worked great for 6 months and I haven't had a single disconnect with it.. not one! until this update 😭
@JLagGOLF Sorry Joe, didn't mean a cheap on just likely has problems. I had the best modem available here before and had nothing but problems. Switched to a medium tier one and have the best connection at home that I have ever had. Like I was saying before I don't doubt that people are having problems as some of the interface is needlessly complicated (especially the update) but an update that only affects some people is generally an indication of problems with the hardware and not the software, generally speaking
It is very unfortunate with the stability because this thing is incredibly accurate and can hang with a GC quad when it's working!! And they are always trying to improve and add things which is great. I'd just love for them to get the stability of the device nailed!
Watching all these videos and issues I won't be buying this unit. I mention again the subscription fee amount for this is way to much for what you get. This is a thumbs down. 👎
I think it is mostly people that a tech defective. Me and 3 friends have them and I have yet to have even 1 missed shot on over 1000 hits so far. Also your comment on the subscription tells me you just don't like subscription and haven't actually broken down the numbers. I would have to run my MLM for 8 years for it to reach the price of its competitors like the Mevo+
@TheMCAids sure I want an unlocked unit. I would guess if you already own one you'll defend your purchase. From what I can see it not worth the investment.
@topgunbass I have no problem crapping on stuff that I have bought. Spent a whole year testing and pricing LMs with sim capability. Here in Canada the MLM2 and R10 are the only ones under 3500 that are worthwhile. Had the R10 which is a great unit but didn't offer the accuracy of the MLM2 and setup was a pain in the ass with it if not on perfectly level ground. I get not liking subscriptions but I was just letting g you know that your assumptions are not as accurate as you think. As someone that owns 1 I can say that it works great and will save me money even with it being subscription based compared to anything else in the same realm.
@TheMCAids I get it but let me ask you would you pay 200 a year US for the rapsodo courses if it was 3rd party software? I'd be happy to pay a subscription if it was worth it. I just don't see that here with rapsodo. I was hopeful with this unit when it first launched. Ready to buy one. Then the problems and subscription for what you get has turned me off. I'm in CND too and keep waiting for an improved r10. Thanks for your thought though.
@topgunbass honestly when you break it down there is really no difference. I will use the Mevo+ as the comparable here. When comparing the 2 the Mevo would have been been my preferred unit but with pro package (needed for the best options) it would have been close to 4k cdn upfront where I was able to get the MLM2 to my door for 1k. I will likely use it for 3 years and then sell it to recoup most of my year 2 and 3 subscription, so I would 100% do it again as the cost for what you get is a fraction of the competition. It isn't perfect but the subscription aspect is also good for tech like this because it forces the company to keep refining all aspects of the unit or lose the customer base.
