I wonder if that’s why people started taking pictures of “insignificant” stuff and sharing it on instagram, Tumblr and such… I used to criticize those pictures of food, and flat-lays (every day carry), but after hearing you say what you did at intro…that’s people taking pictures of the little every day stuff that they are celebrating and remembering. After all, who else to determine what life means. It’s all these little things that we often take for granted but that one day we won’t have. Won’t be able to experience… So yeah. Take that picture of your food. Your journal. That flower. A rain puddle. Whatever makes your day just a little more interesting… Nice video. I wish it had been longer. I’ll just watch it again. And then I’ll watch some of your previous ones…
i think you're right mate, i use to feel the same feelings. i wouldn't take photos because it wasn't what i determined to be good or the one. but when i look back at pictures my parents took it's always the ones that are the most normal the most mundane that strike me and tell me change happens and happens without most of us noticing. haha thank you so much mate, i tried to stop filming stuff in the last couple of months and be more present but now the light is back im sure ill be filming much more. appreciate the wonderful well thought out comment man!
@@AlexIvory yeah…I actually took out my camera after watching your video and thinking about this. In the end, no one will really care about my pictures and even if they do, what difference will it be to me. So, I’m going to try and be more appreciative of my day and capture these mundane things. I think so, it's the best image quality you can get in a truly pocketable camera, good user experience, great colors, lens etc.. just a solid package all round. It will never be my favorite camera that I own but I will always own one, can bring it absolutely everywhere.
Really lovely shots Alex. Totally agree about it being these day-to-day shots that mean the most. I’ve take better photos of loved ones with my GRIIIx than my A7R because I actually have the Ricoh on me, and that makes all the difference

Totally agree about taking everyday pictures! Just wonder what you think about the Ricoh GR IV, and when a new camera would be released. The GR iii is from 2018 and that is a very long time ago. Clearly shows the success of this camera as people still order it today. I am very keen to buy one as a pocket camera that always is with my as opposed to my bulky system camera. But I cannot stop thinking about when a new version will be released. Could it be that Ricoh was planning to release something new this year, but hesitated when the X100VI came out with ibis and 40mp? And that they just made a minor "update" with an HDF version, which is really no point at all. Just wondering what is coming. Weather sealing would be great as well. Not so keen to buy a new one (or nicely used 2nd hand) if a new version is not far away (less than a year or so). What do you think?
i would look at it another way, when/if the new one comes out you'll either be able to get a cheaper gr iii or you can get a newly released version. i don't think the models matter as much it's more what you think is best for your budget and if you want to wait. for me i don't really overthink it as it's my everyday camera and my film is for my projects and work. i can totally understand tho if its gonna be your main. i got mine second hand man and apart from a weird scroll wheel it's perfect, let me know how you get on bro
