Treated myself to one of these the A1 version and retro fitted it with an 18inch barrel and TNT barrel and carbon supressor ...finished it off with a Sniper mechanic WASP and cylinder superb and so quiet ....would recommend finishing off your A2 with those last two items ..looking forward to the Tac 41 and the AEG Silverback are due to get out of the door ...keep up the great work always enjoy your reviews 👍

I just got my 22" dark flat earth to match my field and i love it and i cant wait to take it out. I did find a fix for the mags and stay fresh shoes has an srs to m4 mag adapter for $56 and it came with a 100rd mag so i bought spares for $40 from evike 5 pack... so now i have 6 mags i can reload once a game and never have ti worry about a relaod unless i put on a wolverine bolt m and go to town
So the question of the questions ! SRS vs VSR 10 So would you recommend the SRS more than an upgraded VSR10 ? I saw how your SSG10A2 performs and it's crazy (consistency wise ) why someone would change to an SRS? Thanks !
If you already have a fully upgraded VSR10 I wouldn’t both so much. If you are building a new sniper SRS all the way. The tolerances are much tighter and the build quality better. Also much lighter. Having said that you can’t convince some so then it’s personal preference. I still love using my SSG but the SRS is better all round.
Great Video. I’m gonna invest in the A2 and would be interested in upgrading to the TNT KIT. What difference does it make to the FOS. and range. Or would I be better off getting the fast hop and air brake as Nitropete mentioned.
Depends who you speak to, but I have some insane range from mine. I hit a guy in the head at 90m on a still, warm day on the 4th go at him. At first he couldn’t see me, when he eventually did he was so pissed and stormed off 😂 Just be aware, adjusting the hop is a nightmare with the TNT as it’s really tight.
Whoa! The best sniper rifle? I'm not a sniper rifle guy, so I'm not beeing sarcastic. I just always thought, that VSR10 style rifle would hold that title. You learn something new every day :) Another great video as always
matej augustin the VSR10 will always be great once upgraded, out the box they are nothing special, then when you add the build quality of the SRS, there is simply no competition. Thanks for watching 👍
@@BIGBIRDSAIRSOFT I own TM VSR built by local VSR magician (Dexter), I also have AAC T10 which is also highly upgraded - each worth about 600-700€. Bought SRS A2 from 1st batch and couldn't use it. Was impossible to cock with 3J Rapax, Maxx model hopup unit didn't fit. To me it's not betterr than VSR.
Rafal G that’s bizarre, I’ve tried 3j Rapax in mine and it’s fine. I know what you mean about the hop unit, the tolerances are super tight, and the thickness of the coating can interfere. Once relieved, the hop units fit perfectly without so much as a wiggle. Can’t speak for the Max unit, but the TNT one is in mine without a problem. I still love the VSR tbf but I’ve been really impressed with the SRS.
As a mechanical design engineer I believe all the changes you have mentioned are ones that cut production cost. That is the only reason this version exists. This is not an upgrade over the A1 if you ask me. (Although I own neither. My knowledge about the A1 relies on watching video’s in the past similar to this one). Regardless: convince me otherwise :-)
Depends on how you look at it I suppose. I don’t know what the decisions were behind it but as an engineer, you’ll know that a product should go through a probabilistic analysis of its failure rate over a given life span. If for instance, a lighter m-lok rail performed with the same results as a heavier one for its given use, cost less to manufacture and made the package lighter for the end user, then everyone is a winner. I have no idea if this is the process for Silverback but to me engineering is providing a level of performance within the confines of a clients expectation. From my experience the A2 meets that expectation and is one of the best end user packages in airsoft. As I said in the video, if you have an A1 I wouldn’t swap for an A2.
@@BIGBIRDSAIRSOFT I appreciate your feedback and I totaly agree the Silverback A1 is/was one of the best end user packages available in airsoft. If ever I would get into it (and would stop commenting on airsoft video’s from the sideline) I would get one. Only I Can’t anymore. The A2... to me... given all the changes you mentioned... just feels like a method of Silverback to cash in ‘more’ on a reputation relying heavily on a better built product they have now discontinued (for a while and as such creating more initial demand for A2). None of this is done to help the end user with a better offering (cus it isn’t) and nobody was asking for changes to the A1. Especially since there was nothing wrong with the A1 after its incremental changes by the time V3 was out. Furthermore the A2 in terms of it being a replica is a downgrade to the A1 because of the loss of a few similarities between it and the real steel counterpart. All in all ‘only’ really a benefit for the producer rather than the customer. Lower weight is a subjective ‘advantage’ since a lot of people (also subjectively) believe a higher weight is an indication of higher quality. And again... a light replica is also less like the real thing. Oh Well... my two cents and not much adding to my initial comment. Also not a representation of my thoughts on the review you gave cus there is nothing wrong with it. Infact it is very well executed and I wouldn’t even be bothered to have a grown up conversation about this topic in here if it wasn’t.
@@nirodha7028 yeah I think you’re probably right, I just like playing devils advocate with these things and see it from all angles (my job makes me like that). I do like Silverback as a brand, and I hope they do more in the future. I’d like to get hold of the MDR when it comes out.
I love the idea of a SRS but I can’t quite justify it when I’m more than happy with my SSG10, and also I was wondering if you ever did any modifications to your TM MP7 GBB as I just ordered one and also a gaurder nozzle and autobot hop rubber
Minnesnowdan Sniper only a few QC issues which I’ve not really experienced. Mine just came underpowered but was fixed with some FPS adjuster rings, and since sorting that it’s been a perfect weapon to get into airsoft sniping without me having to do all the research of what to put into a lower end one to make it equal to the standard of the ssg10
Ricardo Coelho nope just preference really. Longer barrels can give a little more stabilisation to the bb in theory, but only if you have enough cylinder volume. That’s where the SRS comes in. The actual difference is tiny really and the hop, rubber etc. will make the biggest difference.
Daniel Castro everything, it’s better made, nicer to use and better as standard. With only the barrel and hop upgraded it’s in a different league to the SSG10. My SSG10 is really good BUT I have upgraded everything on it so there isn’t much of the original left. I won’t do anything else to the SRS.
Kevvy gigabyte SRS all the way! The standard SSG is not in the same league. I’ve put a lot into my SSG and the performance is on par, but it way heavier, less balanced and just not as nice to use. By the time I got my SSG to the standard it is, it’s more expensive than the SRS.
Findlay Casey the only original parts on my SSG now are the stock, cylinder, trigger box and outer barrel. It’s really good out to 70m which is about the same as my SRS but not quite as consistent. Until Nov ditches that old hop unit design (hence the air seal problems) and fits a TDC, the SSG will always be outclassed by the SRS.
RotatableAxle yeah, I’ve only put a barrel and hop unit in to my SRS but the SSG had a lot changed. All the small parts add up and there are still bits I could do to it.
My brother is thinking about getting this but he doesn’t want to do much upgrading. If I just popped a larger spring in it could I run it as is and lift heavy wieght bbs? I saw that the FPS also had a large range between 360 FPS and 400 FPS. Do you think if I buy one it will do the same? Or was that just problem with the hop up bucking from the factory?
Yeah, you can use it as standard it’s just tricky setting up the hop. Yes the FPS was the hop but there are better rubbers than the standard. Personally, if you want to do sniping, you have to upgrade at some point, even these.
BIGBIRDSAIRSOFT I was watching other vids and when they chronographed the gun it only had a 10 FPS difference. So I’m starting to guess that it may have been an issue with just your guns rubber... but idk If I keep the standard hop up unit which rubber do you recommend using. I would buy the fast hop but I’ve heard of air seal issues so I’d rather just keep the standard hop up unit and change the bucking.
@@southmoreconlin3757 I’ve only used the standard before changing to the full tnt kit. I’m not sure what the best rubber to use with the standard hop unit but I’d check the usual suspects such as maple leaf, stalker etc.
Kraken and Maxx are two best hops for SRS so far... I somehow prefer bit more weight on A1, and what I do not like on A2 is that it does not have metal trigger....
I absolutely hate having cameras and batteries on my guns and head. The last time I tried I messed with the setup so much it ruined the day. Maybe I’ll try again at some point, my GF keeps telling me to lol.
No I’m happy with the 22” I think the 16” is better if you want to run a huge suppressor, but I don’t run one. Even at 22” it’s so much shorter than all the other sniper rifles.
Marcus Hillerström I think the 410 may have been an anomaly. There was a problem with the hop rubber when I took it apart, it wasn’t bad but did lose a small amount of air. I put a new rubber in before I fitted the tnt kit and it was a steady at 380fps. With the TNT kit in it has a variance of 1fps.

It’s honestly the nicest sniper if tried and the 16” would be a great choice 👍 hopefully you’ll get out soon, the sites are doing a good job keeping everyone separated. I actually haven’t seen the KM vid yet, it just made me smile at the weekend as the was a guy who literally full autoed everyone, and he had some serious rage too. At the end of the day he was getting arsey with me when I sniped him as he’d been spraying the tree and bushes I was behind. Lol he should try out flanking, but there is always one. 🤣
I’ve got a 2j Rapax spring, TNT terminator hop unit and a TNT s barrel. Mine is 470fps, I wouldn’t recommend 500fps due to joule creep. If you are in the UK using heavy ammo at 500fps, you could get into a bit of bother.

Ghostwalker Airsoft Tech yeah I think the hop rubber was a little oval around the feed lips. I tried a new standard rubber and it was fine. With the TNT, the FPS is 1 FPS variation. Amazing air seal. That’s a real shame, can you import?
