It was my 1st adult Dino on the new map. I absolutely love being able to get a birds eye view on the areas and find where water spots, corpses, where the items needed to collect can be found in mass. This info I gained via scouting has made growing other dinos far easier as I know know where everything is.
Just started playing earlier today and been playing as this dino. I enjoy it a lot because I've been able to avoid hostile dinos with ease as well as learning the map and fast questing
You missed a few features. Like the dive you demonstrated, if you do that from higher up you can pull out of it for a huge speed boost. Also, in pvp, you can actually fly in place and attack that way, just lifting yourself up and down as needed. It takes a little practice, but then you really are basically untouchable.
@@one-eye-guy-0074land in the middle of pine trees, and land in the middle of trees, nobody can reach you which imo just further makes this dino probably the best beginner dino
You can also rest on top of some kind of trees, use precise movement to land on top of the point where branches connect. It took me a while to see which trees i can land on haha. For example the branched trees in grand plains is good :)
Would be cool if they added a status effect to deal small dmg over time to help take down higher creatures. Maybe an HP based tick dmg to avoid overpowering younger creatures / creatures of his tier
Thal is not useful in pvp directly BUT is still very valuable to have in a group it can take trophies away from being stolen and can spot dinos for your group if they lose sight and prevent prey from laying down. My biggest problem I've had with it is trying to take off from a landed position if I Attack something quick because sometimes it refuses to fly I wish they would make it more responsive
@ag_064 you do need a running start which actually wouldn't be so bad if you can tell if your running or not. But game has no indicator to show you if you're in sprint mode
Hes probably the best trolling dino, ive annoyed a triceratops so much they logged off 💀💀 also you can help out in fights by putting in a few pecks, so i like being annoying and pecking ppl being attacked
Personally I think everyone should make one just so you can fly. I also play my flyer when I've had a tough day and just Cruze around, something let others quest off me while I keep watch. It's just such a chill dino. On the note of fighting another flyer however, the older you are the more Stam and health you have. There are a few flyers who like to cannibalize the young and the young won't win. And use the precision move to hover and land slowly, this can pull you out of a dive bomb if you're cutting it close.
Just saw a youtube video about neat tips for playing Thalasso, since it's not built for pvp, the best thing you can do is attack when a dino is sitting/sleeping (in general or trying to regain health/stam during combat)
Against hatz the thal does really really well you fly above them then dive down into them but try to hit them in the head with the damage increase for crashing into things and you can easily get a hatz trophy
Nice video, i like having it like, for example, if im gonna log in as a spino lets say in Impact Crater, i use him to look around and know if i can log or if i could die. Its fun to just fly around and be annoying.
God damn its so trash. I can't do anything with my adult EVERY time I play. the hitbox is NON EXISTANT, I either miss or run into every dinosaur I try to strafe! They only thing I can hunt are literally babies as an adult! Don't get me started on the massive damage you take for even tickling a tree branch! Thalassodromeus is completely anti-fun and needs reworked and buffed so badly
The thalass should never be able to take a full adult mid to high tier dinos. It was a fishing bird that was known for going after babies of dinos as well. So no it's damage doesn't need to get buffed, it's not meant to combat. It does need a rework and a hotbox fix though
