In this video we talk briefly about the TRD Pro 4Runner. A factory modified 4Runner built for the folks who want a unique / rare color rig that has some great off-road capabilities... all while maintaining the comfort and reliability of the 4Runner for a daily driver use.
Over the years the 4Runner has stayed true to it's origination all the way from the 80's; An incredibly reliable, very capable, and simple SUV that handles almost anything you throw at it. However, scrutiny has come to Toyota as of recent due to lack of technology / updates to the 4Runner. The engine / transmission setup in the brand new 4Runners is the same from all the way back in 2010.
Is Toyota missing the mark? Is the 4Runner outdated and obsolete? Is the TRD Pro a waste?
Our answer is NO. In our opinion the 4Runner is still one of the best all around SUV's available on the market today. Insanely reliable, cheap to maintain, crazy high resale value, very capable off road, comfortable on the road, and just a nice simple SUV. It doesn't have a lot of the new tech and features of some other manufacturers SUV, and we argue that it doesn't need them! The 4Runner is one of the last remaining true to form SUV's available and we still think one of the best out there!
The TRD Pro is still an excellent option for folks who want to buy a 4Runner and not modify it and still be able to do some pretty decent off-roading.
From the factory it comes with loads of off-road tech including a rear locking differential, Fox tuned suspension, TRD Pro wheels and front skid plate for engine undercarriage protection, and as always very unique paint colors.
