You clearly dont understand the main meaning of the Enlightenment. Its truest advance was to largely neuter the stulcifying unquestionable influence of religion. It is for example only truly in secular democracies that religion freedom is guaranteed. Much Westerm law may be well be rooted in Christian traditions (a detailed that for me is wildly overstressed in this series of lectures) but it was the rejection that religion, and its representatives etc, could stand above the law and reason was a fundamental part of why the West is hete at all. A truly great series. But any system and even a network of related subsystems carries its inherent contradictions within. Our strengths have lead to global transparency and mobility, combined with reduced mortality and geometric population growth in the poorer regions that is going to threaten us now. Even our colonial past and our post colonial imperialism is an expression of technological advantage over the rest that is going to haunt the West. Will the new barbarians take over or have we opened the gates from within?
The world is governed by not just physical, but also spiritual laws. If you see too much chaos and turmoil in the world, it's a sign that we are going against those laws. There are always lessons to learn from every situation. The important thing is that we realize what those lessons are and we learn them.
To ignore the past is perilous, as the past was created by humans being human, so history is not just dates and wars, it is like art a reflection of human behaviour, of human attitude, of human nature, so to ignore or even worse bury the past is to lose every lesson that humans learned through countless tragic eras and events. Like the Israelis who seem to need a constant threat to act as one, the west needs an identifiable enemy or we begin to fight within ourselves. Our very openness is a threat, that until recently was also our strength as people could learn that the freedoms in the west is a better way. The ironic thing is that even in a free society law and order is a necessary part of our foundation. I think that there are two threats today, one being the idea of a political globalist state where all enjoy all the rewards of life, which it the vision of totalitarianism, and the other is the idea that a globalist elite based on controlling through wealth ignoring state and politics. Our weakness is that we allow ideas to be sold to youth, allowing the intellectuals of a particular time to promote only one side of the coin. I look at music for example the west has gone from the symphony to the big band to groups to one rapper. That we somehow have started with a stone age man banging two rocks together to the peak of musical harmony and now we have returned to the stone age or cheering someone for producing a beat. Perhaps it is the declining of the art, and perhaps it is just part of human nature to cycle things, or humanity does have some genetic roots back to the start of our climb towards civilization. Allowing a bias education system is truly throwing away one of our best shields for the west, as our accomplishments like the crusade against slavery, demonstrates a willingness to stand for a principle and that cannot be denied or discredited.

Although a non-westerner by birth, I am a westerner in spirit in belief. However, I do not agree with the notion that the greatest western value is freedom and individualism. Freedom to do what? In Huxley's Brave New World the people by their own free will choose their own mental enslavement. Let us take the example of great renaissance art. Many other cultures have great art but what is it that makes the art of Michelangelo, Bosch, Raphael and their contemporaries unique? What makes the music of Bach or the architecture of great European Cathedrals unique? I believe it is the simple fact that western civilization is the only one that has fully embraced materialism (the material world) while at the same time acknowledging the existence of the spiritual. It is this mentality or attitude that is present in all great western art.
Freedom to do what? What do you think? Should we be pleased to live in the west? Well, yes when we had morals and ethics taught us by the Christian /Biblical teachings which included marriage and the family unit. The family being the social/reproductive unit of society. The concept that there are two sexes and to turn to the same sex for satisfaction or to make out that we are the opposite sex was frowned on as perverted and against the interests of society was unknown or at least rejected. We had a private enterprise system of individuality which gave prosperity and freedom. Now we have a cultural, worldview dictatorship based on atheism which allows for the rejection of the family and the acceptance of perverted sexual behaviour. Activity that at one time would be crimes are now accepted as normal civilised behaviour and if disagreed with can cost jobs and careers and social standing. Add to this the destruction of life while in the womb and other problems and the west frankly is finished. How can a society survive if we can't reproduce a healthy population to replace us in the future? It takes about 20 years to raise a child and if there are 2 or 3 children a couple of years apart it could take 25 or more years to raise the next generation. They have to be heterosexual and raise a heterosexual family for the future generation. Where are they coming from if we function sexually the way we do at present? Can anyone lay their hand on heart and say we will prosper into the future as we are now?

In 1972, aged 17yrs I joined the British Army and a year later (having completed my training) was posted to Germany; where I met a beautiful girl named Helga. Her father Konrad was a devout Christian who had served during WWII as a tank driver in the Das Reich SS Division. He was a very impressive man with whom I had many highly interesting/life changing conversations; the central themes of which were that:- In reality rather than propaganda, WWII was actually an European Civil War, fought between two factions; one of which sought to preserve white Christian European culture, and one of which sought to first destroy that culture; and then replace it with a multi-racial Atheistic 'Globalist' regime which would control it's population by financial means (ie:- debt slavery). That the faction seeking to preserve white Christian European culture had been defeated in that civil war, and the result of that defeat would be that my generation would see the destruction of European Culture, and it's replacement by the Globalist Regime WWII's victors intended to establish. At that time I found this difficult to believe, but as the years/decades have passed; it's become evermore obvious to me that Konrad was right, because all across the once white Christian World the same policies have been enacted/enforced; and have all achieved the same results:- 1. Both Christianity and National Identity/Cultures have been attacked, misrepresented and ridiculed; causing the masses to abandon them in favour of Materialistic Atheistic 'Individualism'. 2. A combination of abortion, contraception and mass immigration has been used to first reduce, and then demographically transform those same (once European) populations. 3. Real wages have been consistently forced down, whilst debt has been made evermore easily available; with the result that the masses are now more deeply indebted (and thus more vulnerable) than they've ever been. Result ? I'm now approaching 70yrs of age, but firmly believe that I'll live to see the internally engineered collapse of the Western World, and it's replacement by a Globalist 'New World Order'; exactly as Konrad predicted.

It is more probable that the demise of the West is due to its inner tensions. The exploration of the individual which seems to have opened up avenues of exploration about the world we live in, and the emphasis on liberty which I believe has not been an objective of other civilizations, finally leads to minority groups finding their voice and acceptance in society, which is right and proper, only to become tyrants over the majority, This process of the rule of the minority and the laws put in place, has been going on for some time. Looking at Western Civilization as projected by the US UK and Europe there is a worrying decline in protecting basic, hard-earned rights, such as freedom of speech and the right to protest. The weapon of fear has always been used by the ruling elites to cower people into accepting the diminishing of personal rights. Absolute individual freedom leads to the disintegration of society, the body politic. It always needs to be tempered by responsibility for one's actions and their effect on the people around you.
