Dc5pablo you just gotta watch for them on Kijiji craigslist Facebook if you know someone with one ask them how much they want it’s not easy but if you have patience
We had one of these back in the late 90's. The back brakes never really worked, but it was an absolute blast to ride. We were all Dirtbike riders and this was just a fun thing to play around on. Only quad I had more fun with was a Banshee.
I bought one the first year they came out. Beat the piss out of it and it never broke. All my friends had 125ccto 200cc 2 stroke dirt bikes and I could more than keep up with them on single track woods trails which is where this thing shines in my opinion. Unfortunately it was stolen after I had owned it for two years. Watching this makes me want to buy one to build another trails quad.
The TORS is literally the first thing most people get rid of because it often malfunctions and cuts spark when you DONT want it to. For people wantin to delete the TORS get the Motion Pro TORS eliminator kit. You can either keep the thumb throttle or get a twist throttle version. And comes with the drill bit, thread tap and idle screw. Just take ya time tapping :)
My dad and I have a blaster but it stopped working because it was my dad’s friends race atv and he gave it to us. I can’t wait to get our blaster working again!!! 😁😁😁
Dam this really put me in my feels about when I was rippin my blaster. I didn’t realize it while I was learning with it, but this is seriously the best starters quad. I love my 04 Trx 450 and how torquey it is. But nothing compares to a 2stroke. Been debating buildin a 4mil
@@rpmjunky2795 I've had one of the cheap Chinese top end kit on my banshee for 2+years now still running strong. The only thing I did was buy wisco rod bearing and piston clips cause those are what normally go bad on the Chinese kits from what I can tell my brother had one on his banshee for about a month and the piston clip came out and destroyed the top end, and I've read the bearing goes bad really fast.
It’s the best quad because it’s reliable, it’s cheap and it’s a 2 Stroke. I have my dads 1991 blaster and it’s beautiful for its age. Best cheap quad ever built by Yamaha
I'm 14 and I have one of these when I bought it I barely knew shit about four wheelers, it was a mess, for example the entire rear silencer was upside down and I didn't even know Haha, Heck I didn't even know how to use the clutch correctly. But Now after owning it for 2 years I can say definitely worth it. Some thing I would recommend to anyone buying a stock one #1 Buy a FMF pipe easy to install Great power addon (don't forget to rejet your carb) #2 Air filter/Air box Lid Removal I recommend getting a K&N air filter for running off the air box and a Outerwear Cover so it doesn't get wet and suck in water. #3 Nerf Bars They help lose alot of weight and makes it easier for you to rest your feet. #5 Oil Injection delete kit, the stock blaster is oil injected and it doesn't really put the right ratio as pre mixing would not cause it harm just causing it were it would smoke a little bit more while yes premixing does take time it is 100% worth it. #6 Widening kit later down the road when you really understand your blaster get one of these, the blaster is stupidly narrow in the front and rear making it easy to tip over going on hard turns I would recommend the Diamond J customs widening kit and get the 4.5+ inch that is wide enough were you don't need to bleed your brakes or just move the line around but if you are willing to take extra time the 6.0+ is def worth it. also don't forget to get spacers in the back to match your front wheels if you do widen your front. I Hope this helps! This is all the parts I have on my blaster FMF pipe Pro Grips Tusk Nerf Bars Diamond J Custom Widening Kit 4.5 Tusk 58mm Rear Spacer (I think its 58mm) Rear Alba Racing Grab Bar UNI Pod Air filter (Going Straight off the carb and a Outerwear on it) DynoJet Re jetted Main To 320 Oil Delete kit ASV F4 clutch lever Pro Taper Handle Bars (7/8th) (Soon) VFORCE 4 Reeds in Total i paid 1600 For my stock blaster (over paid aloooooooot for the condition) around 600-900 in Aftermarket parts and it was totally worth it. :) +2 Strokes are really easy to work on (They do also have actual oil too you need to change but that is rare and you really don't ever need to do it just helps expand its life.) -Thanks :)
I have a 450r and I still had more fun on the blaster. If I could find a never driven 88 I'd buy it in a heartbeat and probably keep it completely stock
I’ve rode bikes all my life and want to get a quad. I wanted a banshee but I don’t have banshee money so I’m thinking of one of these. Then doing a custom build
Sweet man definitely a good machine. I have 2. Got one for $900 with a pro circuit pipe @ silencer, boyesen reeds and trail port. But I blew a reed and got news one. Then was riding it a good while then blew the top end.
JNK Racing definitely I just fixed mine and got it running. The motor I originally had in I blew the top end. Then put my other motor in but wasn’t getting spark but I put a new stator in and now it runs
@@tajardofrance5339 Totally, cheap and easy to work on, parts available everywhere, I sold mine a while ago now I have a 2007 YFZ450 and wouldn't ever get anything else.
I'd agree, it's like they wanted the performance of a 80cc 2-stroke dirtbike in a quad... and made it reliable, with the bottom end power to match while still being light weight. It being a 6-speed makes it more sports-like. The next step up is a $1500 400ex that's already modded.
instead of upgrading quads i decided to put a cr250 engine in with plus 3 arms and plus 4 swing arm with a banshee axle and basicly made a trx250r for under 1700 lol
Just got mine for 450$ lol best purchase i ever made. Has a fresh top end and clutch. Runs like a bat out of hell. Got 50:1 in the tank right now just for the rebuild after i run that tank out of gas ill throw some 32:1 and she'll prolly push even more power.
Who knows if I’m gonna get an answer, but why not, so this guy in my area is selling a blaster no front fenders, broken back fenders, a stock header and pro circuit silencer, with bald tires and he rides it vigorously as I can tell from the pictures, selling it for 1500, what do you think?
I got completely screwed when i bought mine, $1300 with a bunch a bunch of shit broken. It blew up the 3rd time i took it the the coast lol but i still live her.
Blasters are super fun, but I don't think they are the best, the best all around quad is a kawasaki mojave with some mods, I have a built one and the thing can beat a 400 easily
did you have a title for the blaster to ride at majestic... just got a blaster myself and wondering if i can go out to majestic to ride without a title
About to get a 99 blaster bored to 280 , coming off a 200 Mojave 250 that hasn't even had a spark plug change since factory and survived floating in water for a week from a flood, drained her out and flushed a couple things of oil through it and she's been running since
I could’ve bought the same bike for $400 from a friend they already bought two utility quads and didn’t want to race one but when I contacted them they already got rid of it😢
Fast forward to 2021 and these blasters are 1700 for a beat to shit one and 3500 for a clean one...wild times. Yes yes you can find nice cheap ones if you wait, watch and are ready to jump.
is it stock? if so, i strongly suggest a full exhaust, pipe and silencer, my pro circuit really opened it up, but remember you must jet the carb or else it could blow up
I’d hate to know I had more than $200 in a blaster. Around here they are dirt cheap in new condition. If they break, you leave them in the woods and buy something else.
