Nice review! You're right, those dimensions & the grip angle make it sound like a great option for a Staccato fan wanting to check out a striker fired platform. 👍👍
They have been selling conversion slides for the v1 frame for a year or more already. According to Zev, V2 incorporates Glock Gen 5 internals on the slide to improve its reliability, but keeping the Gen 3 recoil system. According to my common sense, they made that to lock the customers into buying their expensive slides and barrels, instead of going with a Glock third party like Zaffiri, Brunell, PSA Dagger, etc, the way I did last Christmas.
Its all about the $$ with these companies...Which..i do prefer the Gen 3 recoil system...and normally just get the $5 part to convert the Gen 4 and 5 back..haha...The reason I have never like the Recoil Master in the Staccatos, they feel to springy like the Glock gen 4s and 5s. Did they change the locking block on the V2? To ensure you have to use their barrels? I know, basically, all gens on the Glock 19 will have the same barrel..The issue is when you try to run a Glock 17 barrel/ slide on a 19 frame, the block is the issue and will not work. Another reason they came out with the new BP version...to allow armorers to run different slides/ barrels on the same chasis.. Thoughts?
got one, love it. I'm using the full-size grip on it now and didn't think I would like it but it's a great way to have it. Easy to carry with more capacity
Outstanding Sir. I have another OZ9 setup identical to this one...but, with the full size grip. I have to agree....I feel it shoots better with the larger grip and feels more comfortable....just slightly harder to conceal when compared to the smaller grip. Thank you for your input. Greg
Had two of them OZ9c and OZ9cx in FDE, and had some serious reliability issues. Triggers were just OK not even close to something like stock PDP trigger etc. Sold both.
Good to know. What year? I saw issues from models last year and year before. But, luckily. Nothing so far. But will definitely keep an eye out. Same thing happened with my Shadow Systems. As well.
@@threatcadre absolutely correct, one was from 2020 and second one was from last year. Could be older stuff no doubt. It’s a bit of mental thing for me when I lose faith in certain guns, hard to regain that trust as far as reliability goes.
It has impressed me...I actually have a comparison video with a Staccato C2 dropping soon...it was an eye opener to say the least...thank you for you input. Greg
My local gun shop got a used one in about a year ago that came with a standard sized and a compact sized grip. Priced at $1200 out the door, I was tempted. I did some research and found a lot of reports of reliability issues with them and that turned me away. Might be a great gun but I didn’t want to take the risk. The gun is still sitting at the shop for $1200.
Thanks for your input....I did the same...I researched and saw issues with the initial release of the pistol, as well. I then spoke with guys that had conducted a hard tests to get it approved for department use. I was intrigued. At this point, I have had zero issues...but, this is a test of one unit...remains to be seen how it does, when compared to 30k rounds through my Staccato with 0 issues...Again, thank you for your contribution to the discussion. Greg
@@threatcadre There's a video of someone shooting the Hyper comp version of what you have , one handed . It appears there's almost no muzzle rise. Not all of us do 100 lb lat raises . ;)
@@scottsears5156 Thank you Sir. Hope the Cadre Comp is serving you well. I am actually getting ready to drop a comparison video of the Zev OZ9 elite comparing it to the Staccato C2...was an eye opener...
@deserttree8668 I think its hit or miss....and what year it was built...mine is a 2022...and thus far, its not issues...but, i feel I may throw stock glock parts back in it...to make it last longer..ie firing pin, safety etc...but, thus far, after breaking it in.....I have had 0 issues...alot of it was the barrel, i believe...i have since put in a Radian comp...and have issues with it, as well...
@deserttree8668 The feed ramp was the main culprit, IHMO. I dropped in the Radian....and it has run flawless...but, again....the the $$ they should fix them....Several guys i know....tested it...against several others...and torture test, etc...and they selected it for their Units sidearm...which is why I took notice...
The ZEV OZ9C is another masterpiece, I started with a Glock 19 in the police department but transitioned to the Staccato CS for it's reputation for accuracy and factory options. I have the DLC barrel, what are the DLC's benefits for the handgun, please advise, thanks.
Time will tell...Buddy of mine has 15k through his Zev in the past 2 months...so, there seems to be promise..Time will tell. Seems everyone is coming out with a 2011 style pistol now..lol
@threatcadre I added a Radian Afterburner and Ramjet on a new OZ9c and had a number of feed failures. I did not shoot the pistol with the stock barrel and no compensator (yet). There were indications of binding with some brass appearing to be scratched / scored. Would a lighter rate spring be appropriate to remedy? I think that the stock Zev spring is 16 or 17 lbs. Thank you.
Yes sir. Lighter may work. Or the pistols broke in. To speed that up, I lube and rack the slide ALOT. Especially the hood of the barrels. I personally like 15 lb springs in mine. Found the 13 lb didn’t have enough power to lock the slide up reliably. It will once I get more rounds through it. But the 15 lb is the sweet spot.
@@threatcadre Thanks for sharing - I'll give your suggestions a try. I also have a Zev / G17 that shoots well and is a joy to use, so I'm looking forward to getting some time with the new OZ9c. I'll should also shoot it with the OEM barrel, to serve as a reference point. Thanks again and stay safe.
@@scottkushino9868 of course, Sir. I know several LEO agencies that tested and selected the OZ9, which is what peaked my interest....and thus far, it hasn't disappointed. Stay safe, Bro
@THREAT CADRE no regrets! I was referring to the video you made! 10 reasons why not buy a Staccato! You know accuracy, functions, etc! Love this, Gun! I am still working the Red Dot and taking your advice as we emailed through about! And the Covering of Red Dot cause I'm the one eye shooter guy!! Lol. And please dont get me in trouble on buying another gun! Lol, looking at CS and C2! CS bothers me cause they have their own priority magazines, but like you snd others said its just awesome gun!
