Thank you so much Martin and Carol for speaking the truth! That advert was disgusting. It is not inspiring and just initiates the notion that men are inheritenantly bad and need to changed whilst we are forced to believe that women are perfect and don't need to be changed.

Huge percentages of men have stopped dating, going to school or working. Men do all the important jobs in society. No one wants to be a plumber, electrician, soldier or cop anymore. Are women stepping up to do those jobs ? If men stop helping you, you'd better learn to help yourself pretty fast

The so called positive male behavior (3:40) displayed in the Gillette ad was in each instance a man correcting the "toxic" male behavior of other men and boys, i.e. males scolding other males.

I hate to break this to you Carol. But, a man can behave like a charming, well mannered gentleman in public and still be physically, emotionally and economically abusive to his wife snd family in private. Appearences can be deceiving. Now, I'm a man snd proud to be one. That being said, I'm also a Psychotherapist who has worked with survivors of Domestic Violence for many years. Domestic Violence exists. zso does Toxic Masculinity. There are a lot of great men out there. But, there is are also some violent, cruel vicious and sbusive men as well. The same is true about women. To pretend otherwise is intellectually dishonest and dangerous.

It's about the advert more than the perception of men. The advert is meant to be selling razors, not lecturing men. Please educate yourself, Carol is always right, she's a certified genius, don't you know.

@@halloweenville1 You can't seperate the ad from the message it sends. That's the point. If you think Carol Vorderman is a genius, you obviously haven't looked up the definition!!

I think the issue is the transposition of the definition of "toxic masculinity" moving away from the extreme and more towards what are inherently male traits (at least in application).

@@Mankey1234perhaps. However, the difficulty is that many men, including Piers Morgan, refuse to admit that Toxic Masculinity exists. Until men are willing to accept that Toxic Masculinity exists, things arw not going to improve.
