The team attempt to solve the secret history of a well-preserved female skeleton found in Launceston, Cornwall, and examine a possible connection to a leper hospital. Was a female skeleton found in Cornwall a leper, a Civil War casualty, or a plague victim? Time Team has just three days to solve the mystery of the Cornish skeletons. They aim to determine the context of the burials and investigate the boundaries of the leper colony. The excavation faces challenges due to disturbed land from sewage works and the possibility of finding traces of leprosy.

Gotta admire their commitment to the show, given the terrible conditions they are working in.

When I was young, there were 2 graves buried outside the cemetary about 100 yards across a field. They were identified as leper graves and people feared they could get leprousy by being anywhere near leper graves.

I was thinking that might be why a sewage works was on the site - even all these years later people might not want to live there.

Leprosy is eminently treatable these days. One of the medications used these days, as well as appropriate antibiotics, is thalidomide.

Did Tony just lament the incompleteness of skeletons in a former *leper colony* ?

American here: I've obsessively watched TT on RU-vid and any other channel I could find for the past few years and this is the first time I've seen this episode. Anyone know why it isn't included in international series? Happy to see it!

Leprosy has to be on the list of top five worst ways to live until you die. Death is probably welcomed with open arms (and deformed, pointed, little fingers, also, it appears).

This one seems super early.. Robin is young looking (well, they all are..) and Tony is just a little bit less sure about presenting.. funny, the long run of the show means there's a bit of archeology to be done in the viewing! ^_^ :D

The new Time Team series sadly lacks the magic of Tony's "everyman" style of presentation. Please keep the old ones coming.

Do you Brits have any idea how crazy it is for us Americans to see how casual everyone is about finding skeletons? It's like they're everywhere you sink a shovel over there!! 😆🤣
