Brother it is sunnah to perform tahayal tul masjid (greeting the mosque) yani "praying 2 rakah before sitting in the mousque" ref. Sahih bukhari 444 and it has more importance especially on friday before jummah prayer ref. Sahih bukhari 930 and 931 ... It is also a sunnah to prayer as much as one can until the imam do not come out to deliver the khutba/sermon ref. Sahih bukhari 883 but when he is delivering it then only 2 rakah... however specifying particular count of rakah from ur own and saying that only this is the sunnah like we have in subcontinent people say praying 4 rakah before the jummah is sunnah . This infact is a bidah because for specifications we need evidence, what we found evidence from sunnah is to prayer at least 2 rakah before sitting

@@abdullbariii If you intend to pray Friday prayers in the mosque, it will be four rak'ahs. Two rak'ahs, then two rak'ahs. However, if you intend to pray it at home, and this is better, then it will be two rak'ahs.
*Sunnah AFTER Jummah:* If you pray in masjid: 4 Rakah sunnah prayers (2+2). If you go home without praying any sunnah in masjid after Jummah: 2 rakah sunnah prayer at home. *Sunnah BEFORE Jummah:* There is No sunnah prayer related to Jummah BEFORE Jummah. I'm gradually getting to know that almost everything I've been doing till now is not authenticated by hadiths. For Jumma, I was taught to pray 4+2(Fard)+4+2.
when the azan is given on a Friday, it is for Zuhur prayer. if you realise the sequence, the kutbah is given only later. so meaning, till kutbah starts it is still zuhur. zuhur changes to jummuah bcos of kutbah. if kutbah is absent, then it is zuhur. with this, why shdnt there be any sunnah prayers before kutbah after the azan is given?
Brother why are you interpret your own version of islam. Niyat is personal. If you leave your house for jumah then its jumah and everywhere on earth of friday there is jumaa. Only if you have some issue or problem you offer zohar salah alone. Dont complicate stuff. Deen is easy dont confuse yourself
can you pray Jummuah if you have less than 40 congregants? dont assume it is the same scenario all around the world where u pray jummuah just bcos it is a Friday. u cant pray jummuah without kutbah. and u cant start kutbah if u hv less than 40. so till then it is still zuhur.
And where is the Hadith based on this or are you just giving your own opinion. Please don't confuse the ummah more than necessary. Friday prayer is called Jummah and there is no sunnah before jummah prayer. If you have Hadith for sunnah before jummah then please share it with us which is authentic. @@steelsking

The jummah kutbah is fard after which the jummah salaat is fard. a sunnah cannot replace a fard so if you arrive LATE in the masjid and the jummah FARD salaat has already started you should not try to squeze in a sunnah salaat so to if u arrive in masjid and the kutbah has started you cannot pray a sunnah. The hadith about the prophet pbuh sending a man to pray sunnah during the kutbah requires a propper explaining.

It is sunnat to perform four rakaats of salaah before the jummah salaat. Consider the following Ahadith: 1. كان يصلي قبل الجمعة أربعا وبعدها أربعا “Ali (radiyallaahu anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to perform four rakaats salaah before the jummah salaah and after the jummah salaah” (I’laaus Al-Sunan, vol 7, pg 13, Idaratul Al-Quran) The chain of narrators in the above narration is good. (Tarhut Al-Tathreeb, vol 3, pg 36, Ilmiyya) 2. كان رسول الله يركع قبل الجمعة أربعا وبعدها أربعا “Ibn Abbas (radiyallaahu anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to perform four rakaats of salaah before and after the jummah salaah” (I’laaus Al-Sunan, vol 7, pg 13, Idaratul Al-Quran) The above hadith with the chain of narrators that appear in Tabrani is good. (I’laaus Al-Sunan, vol 7, pg 13, Idaratul Al-Quran) 3. عن أبي عبد الرحمن السلمي قال : كان عبد الله يأمرنا أن نصلي قبل الجمعة أربعا ، وبعدها أربعا Abu Abdir Rahman Al-Sulami reports: “Abdullah (bin Mas’ood) used to command us to perform four rakaats salaah before jummah and after the jummah salaah” (Musannaf Abdir Al-Razaaq, vol 3, pg 247, Idaratul Quran) The chain of narrators in the above Hadith is authentic. (Athaar Al-Sunan, pg 303, Imdaadiyya) 4. عن عبد الله قال كان يصلي قبل الجمعة أربعا “Abdullah (bin Mas’ood) reports that Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to perform four rakaats before the jummah salaah” (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba, vol 4, pg 114, Al-Majlis al-Ilmi) 5. عن صافية ، قالت : رأيت صفية بنت حيي رضي الله عنها ، صلت أربع ركعات قبل خروج الإمام للجمعة ، ثم صلت الجمعة مع الإمام ركعتين . Saafiyah (radiyallaahu anha) reports: “I saw Safiyyah Binti Huyay (radiyallaahu anha) performing four rakaats of salaah before the Imaam came out for jummah, then she performed two rakaats of jummah salaat with the Imaam” (Nasbur Al-Raayah, vol 2, pg 207, Makkiyya) 6. عن إبراهيم قال كانوا يصلون قبلها أربعا. “Ibrahim (Al-Nakh’ee) reports that the Sahaba used to perform four rakaats of salaah before the jummah salaah” (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, vol 4, pg 114, Al-Majlis al-Ilmi) 7. Abdullah Bin Mas’ood used to command the people to perform four rakaats of salaah before the jummah salaah as understood from the above Ahadith. This is an indication that Abdullah Bin Mas’ood used to consider these four rakaats as Sunnat Muakkadah. In fact the Muhaditheen classify the Athar of Ibn Mas’ood as “Marfoo’ Hukman”. Assalam o alikum, Zohar prayer is necessary after jumma prayer ? Or jumma prayer is enough ? Some people say Zohar prayer after jumma prayer is necessary. Kindly give me answer, jzaak Allah
On Fridays, we pray Jummah instead of Zohar. So, there’s no Zohar if you pray Jummah. But if you miss Jummah, then you should pray Zohar. Jummah prayer has to be in congregation (Jamaat). You can’t pray Jummah alone. If you’re a woman and can’t join Jamaat for Jummah, then you should pray Zohar.

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim ! (Fatwa: 945/836/D=10/1436) (1) There are two rakahs fardh in Jumuah which each Muslim knows. It is proved from Hadiths, common practice and unanimity of ummah. Before the 2 fardh rakahs of Jumuah 4 rakahs are sunnah muwakkidah and after the fardh of Jumuah 4 rakahs are sunnah muwakkidah and 2 rakahs nafl. Imam Abu Yusuf (may Allah have mercy on him), who is disciple of Imam Abu Hanifah (may Allah have mercy on him) and a great Imam of Hanafi Fiqh, says that there are six rakahs sunnah muwakkidah after the fardh of Jumuah. (2) When Imam comes for khutbah then it is forbidden to offer any salah or talk. Hence one should not start any salah. Yes, one should make up the missed four rakah sunnah after offering fardh. (3) It should be offered after the fardh of Jumuah. (4) One should not raise his hands in Khutbah for dua or say Amen. It is forbidden. A hadith state: اذا خرج الامام فلا صلاة ولا كلام . Yes, one is allowed to reply the azan of khutbah. It is known by the hadith related by Hadhrat Emir Muavia (may Allah be pleased with him) in which he replied the azan of muezzin while sitting on the member and said: يا ايها الناس انى سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على هذا المجلس حين اذن الموذن يقول ما سمعتم منى مقالتى (بخارى ج 1 ص 125) But it is better to reply it in heart. The Method of Offering Jummah / Friday Prayer Total 22 Rakats Khutbah and two rakats FARD is considered 4 rakats, 2 Rakats Tahiyatul Wudu 2 Rakats Dakalal Masjid After the first adhan of Friday and before the second adhan, 4 rakats of sunnah prayer should be offered. This sunnah is confirmed sunnah (sunna mu’akkada). After the khutbah, 2 rakats fard (obligatory) Friday prayer should be offered with the imam. The Friday prayer should be offered with the following intention: “I intend offering two rakaats fard of Friday prayer.” Thereafter, 4 rakats sunnah should be offered. These are also a confirmed sunnah (sunna mu’akkada). Thereafter, another 2 rakats of sunna should be offered. According to some ulama these 2 rakats are also confirmed sunnah (sunna mu’akkada). Thereafter, 4 rakats zuhr akhir should be offered in place of ZUHR

you are wrong dear brother. If you enter mosque during khutbah/Sermon, you must pray 2 rakats if you think you have the time for it. The evidence is this hadith that prophet Saw stopped his sermon to ask a person why he didnt pray before sitting and commanded him to pray 2 rakats. so this indicates, you absolutely can pray during khutbah. Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came while the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was giving the Friday sermon. So he (the Prophet) said to him: "O So and so, have you prayed?" He said: 'No.' The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Get up and pray two Rak‘ahs." In another narration: "Then pray two Rak‘ahs." Sahih/Authentic. - [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
No one must not sit when he enters the masjid until he prays Tahiyyat al-Masjid (two rak’ahs “greeting the mosque”); indeed, this is obligatory, even if the khateeb is on the minbar giving the khutbah. This is because of the hadeeth of Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah who said: a man came whilst the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was addressing the people on the day of Jumu’ah. He said, “Have you prayed, O So and so?” He said, “No.” he said, “Stand up and pray two rak’ahs.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 888; Muslim, 875).
