Neither urban decay nor elf are available in my country, yet here I am, watching with a smile on my face, you just talk so interestingly about formulas that I find myself drawn to your videos. Hugs from PL ♡
@@olab9190 tak, widziałam na notino, ale ponoć marka od dwóch lat nie aktualizuje swojej oferty, więc chyba są to po prostu jeszcze niewyprzedane egzemplarze.
@@Ferchi.maybe check colourpop super shock eyeshadows. They have variety of pink shades and their description is often accurate so you might something you like.
I disagree. 6$ is money saved and for something that will sit around while you want the real deal, just wait for a sale. You will not be satisfied for 6$.
@@SLashafrass Not planning on buying the "real deal." I don't usually wear that kind of eyeshadow so this is just for fun. So yes for me it's worth it for $6.
@@SLashafrass well in that case urban decay’s eyeshadows have also been going for good sales price this year and its obvious they are much better than elf.
@@maheephoenix4398 LOL did your boyfriend cheat on you with elf or something?? Like what do you care what I buy? I'm going to get it FOR SURE now just 'cause y'all are meddling
You’re the one that first turned me onto the UD moon dust shadows, especially Space Cowboy. I love applying it over the Armani liquid shadow in 22M. That combo is a holy grail for me.
Omg I didn’t see that these came out. I saw 10 mins of your video and ran to the elf website and ordered 2. The urban decay ones were always a lil out of my budget but I’ve been eyeing that new quad that came out. I’m so excited to try these. I bought the space cowboy dupe and the second darkest one. The darkest one was sold out. Thank you for reviewing these so fast. I trust your opinion so much❤
i'm very excited for my elf order now!! I picked up filthy rich, and you're so right!! we really ARE missing those deeper shades with duochrome and wet look eyeshadows! filthy rich will look way more natural as a one and done shadow on me than cosmic, as someone with a deeper skintone
Tbh I’m saving up to haul some of the Moira Starshow shadows and other Moira products. But I think it’s awesome that an affordable brand has so much nerve lol it activates my anarchy in the best way. 😂
Same! So glad I’m not the only one. I always wondered why they didn’t work for me when everyone else loved them. You’re right, my eyelids are the coolest part of my skin tone.
I’m paler than you, Charlotte, so I think I’d be thrilled about these e.l.f. shadows - the first one I would get would be Filthy Rich, because green is kinda my obsession when it comes to eye shadows. 😊
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. I found UD moondust dupes but they're Chinese knockoffs with no/suspicious brand websites (mostly seen on Amazon or Temu). I have to admit, even as a half-Chinese I can't help but be a bit scared of how much mercury or lead I'm applying on my eyelids ☠️ all for the sake of ✨sparkles✨😂 I'm def switching to these!
I like the elf shades better. I don’t like dark bronzed/taupe shades in a glitter, they don’t stand out on my skin and the light ones compliment me better so it’s a win/win.
I’m in Australia so I’m looking forward to these launching here sometime mid next year at twice the price 😂. But seriously they look gorgeous, I never actually bought any of the UD ones although I’ve eyed them off for years. Might pick up a couple of these.
Ironically after seeking a dupe for UD Lithium (wasn’t clear to me which of the Moira shadows might be one and not willing to pull the trigger on a new to me brand for one shadow) for a while, I just bought Lithium when Ulta put it on a half price sale last month. Ulta seems to have removed just Lithium from their site but there were a few left in store. I never would have paid $24 for one shadow but happy to have go it for $12. Still good to know that Elf now has dupes for the other colors which I’m less interested in but may try if I’m curious for $6 as I don’t see using the other colors as often just because of personal preference. Thanks for the review. I think I started my hunt for Lithium to begin with based on one of your one and done video recommendations. I like darker shadows and I’m enjoying it so far for those quick out the door type of days.
I have space cowboy and lithium and I’ve been so disappointed with SC, because of the “beige” undertone to it, it looks straight up orange/peach on my light neutral olive skin. It makes me look kind of sick unfortunately and I have to wear it overtop a cool brown to make it look right on me. That all being said, the elf one not having that same tone to it might be a lot better on me!
My Moondust shadows don’t feel creamy at all, they also haven’t gotten that sheen you were showing in the pan. Mine are super dry and most of them hard pan. I wonder if they have some consistencies of batches
@@AmandaZ all of them! They feel slightly different per shade. So Space Cowboy and Solstice feels very hard pressed and hard pan, while Cosmic just feels dry but doesn’t hard pan.
this is such an ambitious launch from elf!! I have already picked up and tried the UD moondust space cowboy shadow after I saw it was on an incredible flash sale thanks to your notifications. 🙏 while I enjoy using it, I am having difficulty getting it to look as glossy and molten as yours does. it looks promising in my pan, but applying the thing ends up making me look like I applied an orange shadow with a bunch of disparate, fine glitter. not bad, but quite different from how it looks on you. maybe it's a shade incompatibility with me? 🤔 these 6$ elf shadows are a lot more accessible. I imagine myself feeling less bad about getting a dud than something about 4 times the price. thank you for the very deep and thoughtful analysis! (I have tried the Ritz colourpop shadow before and thought it was good! I might go back and try it again next to my space cowboy to see how similar they look on me. :-))
Thanks for the review, Amanda! Very detailed and informative. Have you tried Rituel de Fille Apis? I’ve been looking for a review for that one. It looks so wet and glossy in the pictures.
I may try some of these-love urban decay as a brand for prob 15-20 years but their moondust shadows irritate my eyes too much. Their regular single eyeshadows are amazing-if you can catch on sale its def worth it.
I can't tell if the Space Cowboy dupe isn't meeting expectations because of the lack of base or is the glitter more vibrant? Would adding a deeper base to the ELF colors more accurately represent the dupe? Could you test that?
They look very interesting and a good option at a lower price! I've been binge watching your content about one and done and wet eyshadows and I'm curious: have you tried any jones road shadows? 😊
I have had my Urban Decay moondust shadows in Space Cowboy & Lithium for 2 years. I haven’t even made a dent in either shade. I tend to gravitate towards Lithium these days.
All I want is elf to put out powder highlighters. They had those baked highlighters & they kinda flopped cause of hard pan, but I want a highlighter from them so bad!!! Not a liquid just a powder tho
I love Elf ! Thanks for doing an affordable option however ! Urban decay clearly so much better quality even on the eye so much prettier If people don’t wanna pay premium elf is an amazing option
Whenever I see Space Cowboy on videos the texture in the pan and on the lid seems so creamy but I feel like mine is super hard pressed and comes off dry/chunky?
When I’ve tested it in store, I had the same issue. It looked like an orange shadow with sparse silver glitter. I wonder if you need to dig into that top layer to “break the seal” like you sometimes do with other formulas?
Because of you Amanda i just bought Solstice and Lithium both New on Mercari I paid $12 & $13 + shipping and tax so under 20 for each! So I owe it all to you!! I also got Kaja Rosewater on Mercari new way cheaper. So which shade in the rose water do you always demo is it the top shade or the 2nd shade???
I’ve noticed the undertones are not the same in most of these, and a lot of people on tik tok are saying they’re identical dupes. I knew you’d do a good job describing what makes them similar and dissimilar
Are you getting the new moondust palette from Sephora? I saw that the space cowboy shades are different and I’d love to see the difference on the eyelids 🩵
Wet n wild had the eyeshadow like solstice in that palette "comfort zone" but i have the original version still (i know..its really old) but the newer one isnt as nice.
This makes me want to try it more. I got White Hot the other day and it was beautiful and i was hesitating on champagne shower. I tried space cowboy but the problem is that the base pigment is too dark for my skin? So maybe itll be better for me!
Would you recommend these or the sephora collection colorful eyeshadows? I have watched both videos of yours but can’t make up my mind on which I should buy 🥹
Has anybody experienced these wet look shadows having a major fallout? I have MBM Ethereal Eyes palette and the wet look shades are falling off when layered over powder eyeshadow or on their own. They stick to my finger more than on my eyelid. I have to either press hard on my skin which ofc makes my eyes hurt or it just looks like loose glitter. I wonder if UD Moondust of these new Elf shadows have a similar problem.
