The baby mimicked his father saying "I love you" because he heard it said so many times, is what the professional said. Whether he was mimicking the sounds or speaking the words makes no difference. The parents were constantly expressing their love to the child, sounds like amazing parents to me.

Long time ago my Mom taught our miniature poodle to say "I want out" at the door. Sounded more like "I wan ow" but he used it in the proper context at the door!

My first word was “no”. Apparently, whenever I was asked a question, I would just say no. So one day, my parents filmed it. They asked if I wanted a cookie, and I said no, very sternly. When my mom said “OK”, and got herself one without giving me one, I got mad. My mom asked again if I wanted a cookie, and little 1 and a half year old me said no. This went on for a while until they gave me a cookie because I was screaming and crying on the floor. Watching the video now is hilarious, but I can imagine being *very* upset then.

My sister spoke sentences when she was 11 months old and I could speak a little at 12 months so this specialist saying babies typically don't speak until '18 months' is a big stretch. Plus, I'm sure we weren't the only ones. And that cute baby did repeat those words exactly in the same accent which is still very commendable as he was only 3 months old then.

I tell you the truth this little baby knew exactly what was said. There is a measure of energy with every word. This precious baby was tickled and touched and had a reflex response:). This precious little one meant every word!!!

There's no specific age for kids to start talking, walking etc. I was an early talker and walker. Same with my three sons. It was a beautiful moment caught on tape and just leave it at that.. .A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT!!!.

Why would it matter that he was just copying or mimicking? The fact is.....he said the words. That's something to be amazed about.
