Vichy Mineral 89 Moisturizer ~ French volcanic water, 15 minerals, strengthen skin barrier, research based. And it repairs skin damage. Moisturizer and skin barrier. Pump top. Smooth and absorbs quickly. All skin types. Also good after skin procedures. Anti oxidant. 11 ingredients. Mineral water, hyaluronic acid. No fragrance. Probably shouldn’t use with a retinol product because it might amplify the retinol.

After watching your videos I started an am and pm routine. In the am I use nutrogena glycolic wash followed by vichey vitamin C and then vichey 89, even around my eyes. PM I wash with a gentle cleanser followed by a retinoid and retinoid eye creme. Honestly in one week my skin looks great! Oh, I’m turning 65,. My skin has always been pretty good but now, wow so much brighter and little lines are noticeably better. I’m obsessed with your videos! Thank you.

Omg, I bought this a few days ago and I absolutely love it! My skin is so glowy and dewy. It feels amazing on my skin! I cleanse my skin with Cerave cleanser, follow it with this Vichy Mineral 89 and finish it off with Cerave moisturizer and my skin is changed! Amazing product

I have severe eczema and my skin loves this. I agree about it being a booster though. It makes a big difference when used before my serum, especially in Winter. I will admit, I was very hesitant and sceptical to try it at first since Vichy is usually heavily fragranced and my skin can’t handle any fragrance on the face. I’m so happy I did now!

I'm from Europe and my mother introduced me to Vichy when I was a teenager. This specific product wasn't around then, but overall it's a great brand that I keep coming back to. That volcanic french water is great for sensitive skin like mine.

Doctor, there are three ingredients in this product that can possibly be derived from corn. They are glycerin, citric acid and sodium hyaluronate. I have corn allergies. Is this product safe for people with corn allergies? I cannot use any products or ingest any foods corn related. You claim this is perfect for everyone so I am very hopeful as it is so hard for me to find products I do not have allergic reactions to. I would sincerely appreciate you expounding on this. Thank you for all this good information.

I’ve tried this one! It works great for my sensitive/dry skin. I also have tried the body version of the sunscreen she recommended, the cast is very noticeable. If you live in Canada try the green beaver line first, esp. if you have dry skin.

Hi Dr.Meren, my name is Karla and just found u on U Tube a week ago. I went out and purchased the CereVe hydrating cream cleanser as my face is soooo dehydrated as well as ordering the Australian Light spf 50 sunscreen for my face. I have also been using CereVe Vit C and La Roche Rosay moisturizing cream. And added the CereVe hydroxy serum. I do a double wash starting with my DHC oil then CereVe cleanser. Leave my face wet before applying the Hudroxy serum then the Vit C serum. Oh I ordered a niacinamide Essence 3%. ( meant to order the serum) using this first, then the Hyaluronic Acid Serum, then Vit C. Then moisturizer at night. Holding off on my Rentinol 1%. Oh, I got the Paulas Choice 2%BHA Exfoliant. My problem is that after applying at night these steps, it like I have tiny little balls all over my face, neck and chest?? It’s as though the aren’t absorbing but sloughing off. I don’t know how else to explain it. And this am after applying the Australian Gold Sunscreen, as it dries it dries really dry and feels like it’s just sitting on top of my face? What am I doing wrong, or is it because all these serums etc are new to my face? I noticed the balling up after I started using the niacinamide. As though everything is drying and not absorbing? HELP!!!! LOL Love your tutorials as you explain everything in depth about our skin and how and why we need these skin care anti-aging serums.

Just as you said, I use it after my vitamin C serum and before my moisturizer and I love it. I use two pumps for the the face and the neck. It’s reasonably priced and lasts a decent amount of time.

I microneedle at home as well as radio frequency and use this during the procedures, this for the the last 18 months and never had any complications. While doing these, instead of applying more when it dries, I only apply water (Vichy, la Roche, Uriage, aveene)

I used a couple bottles of the Mineral 89 serum by Vichy (Vichy products are very easy to find here in Canada) because of the rave reviews, decent price tag for a hyaluronic serum and because it’s easy to find anywhere (I hate having to order, I always overspend) but I didn’t find it was that great and actually, I found it was drying to my skin. I always layer HA with a spritz of mineral water or a very hydrating cream so it doesn’t pull the water from deeper in my skin but I just couldn’t get good results for it. People who love this serum, really LOVE it, it seems, but I guess I’m in that minority that saw no extra hydration. I’m pretty bummed about it because I really like some of their other products (I love Vichy’s Mineral 89 eye serum). But then again, I find The Ordinary’s HA serum works better for me so I guess I’m saving money in the end. :)

I am use Vichy volcanic water spray to mist my face before my micro current gel and during to keep hydrated. When I finish with current hyaluronic acid that I also mist my face with Vichy, I want to try this. I cringe when I scoop gel out of jar. I Do one scoop and leave on the inside of the lid. The idea of the pump is a huge selling point for me. Thanks

This is not ”miracle moisturizer”. It’s hydrating booster, so closer to Hyaluronic Acid Serum. 89% volcanic vichy thermal water + HA. (As hyaluronic acid products usually, this works best when you use it on damp skin, and then seal all that hydration on the skin w moisturizer. Just in humid climate/oily skin it can be enough to work well alone, like she also said).

I agree! It's an HA. If you use this in the morning and after apply SPF, the SPF will pill. You have to wait long enough (30 min) so if you are in a hurry, it's not a good choice. It's also not so cheep in my opp for an HA. We can found many other better humectants like polyglutamic acid from inkey list or hada labo HA or geek & gorgeous HA or isntree plus HA. But it's important to be followed with a moisturizer in order to lock the hydration in.

I think this will be my next moisurizer. I tried the cerave vitamin C serum based on your recommendation and have seen glowing skin within a few days of use. My skin was looking so dull and a bit red and this has helped so much. So much cheaper than the usual brands I buy.

I honestly wouldn't use this as just your soul moisturizer, it's very light. If you're really oily and it's humid by you go ahead but it's not nearly hydrating enough on its own and I have oily skin but I like lots of hydration.

I've not tried Inkey List but I've used The Ordinary for years. They have an excellent range and also have some good guides on their website on what to combine, the order to layer them for different skin issues. I have some personal favourites that have made a big different for just £5-10.

Agreed!! You do the BEST videos!! I live just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦. I’ve used this product for awhile and I really like it. You’re the first dermatologist, who has explained how to incorporate this product into a facial routine. I used to be a Resource Specialist Teacher. In 1992, I discovered Paula Begoun’s books about ingredients in skincare. The number one thing I started doing is wearing sunscreen 🧴 everyday on my face whenever I left the house. That has saved my skin from looking aged. I’m 61 years old. I have Atopic Dermatitis on my nose and I developed Perioral Dermatitis on my face, just under my lip, after we started wearing masks. My skin is very sensitive. I loved your “The Three Things You Need in Your Skincare Routine” video. In Canada, I’m wondering if we have the Avene retinol products. I’ll have to check. Some products don’t make it over our border, depending on the ingredients. For example, the Drunk Elephant’s TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum is allowed in Canada, but their TLC Sukari Babyfacial is not sold in Canada. As well, Canadians cannot buy the Babyfacial product and have it shipped to Canada. I subscribed to your channel-I’m so happy I found you on social media. Thank you for the time you take out of your schedule to provide the general public-in more than one country 😉-with excellent skincare information and product examples we can use.

Vichy is kind of expensive..I'm using Cerave. However, I just splurged 50.00 on Advanced Night Repair. It's only been a week but, I'm not feeling a huge difference than the Cerave.

Now I use gentle cleansing at night followed by a moisturizer. Startin my am routine with Loreal glycolic acid cleanser, Vit C serum, and will add this for plumping and soothing! Followed by a moisturizer. You recommended CeraVe? Is that your first choice?

I'm a new subscriber and I'm loving your videos. One thing, though. As a French speaker, Vichy is pronounced 'Vee-she' not Vee-chee'. This isn't a criticism, so please don't take it as such, as I know that there's no reason for anyone to know how to pronounce any language other than their own. I just thought you might like to know 🥰

Doctor, I have also contacted this company to determine what, if any, ingredients are derived from corn, and they refuse to provide this information stating it is their intellectual property. It is difficult to support a company that refuses to divulge information. I should have mentioned my concern for corn is that I am allergic to it. It causes an anaphylactic reaction in me. As always, thank you for the wonderful information you provide.

Actually, I prefer the gel cream. This 89 felt a bit sticky for me , didn't like it.

I have started using your recommended Loreal Revitalift Cleasing Gel, followed by the Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair, followed by my serum. Would the Vichey 59 be something I should use before my serum? Do you recommend this routine or should I being switching the order of any these products? Hmmm the last time I used this it didn't impress me. It wasn't bad in any way but it didn't feel as hydrating as I hoped it would be but considering that my skin is pretty dry (I have mild~moderate eczema and I am acne prone which is why I tried this product) I may have been using it wrong since I don't recall applying a thick enough moisturizer over this serum. Maybe I'll try it the way you recommended next time with my fave face moisturizer as of now (la roche posay cicaplast baume XD). Thanks for this video Dr Locke!!

Yes, you really should apply a moisturizer over any hyaluronic acid. And always apply to damp skin.

@@Pamela-B it depends on the product too though. I used a hyaluronic acid toners and they were plenty hydrating on their own so i was expecting something similar 🤷‍♀️ ah well lesson learned
