Love this "gas blowback" AR replica airsoft setup. I could look it up yes but...dude, Stang, can you do a platform breakdown?? Like is it actually brass or similar cases? Retrofitted with an air chamber/nozzle? Something like that? How does it being "fired" create the blowback to cycle tne bolt? I have so many questions!

Looks like an M16 to me. I'm not a massive gun nerd, but the barrel and handle sight make me think that.

It's a Tokyo Marui MWS with a very expensive kit which makes it look like a retro XM177 style AR.

they do typically, yes. gbbr magazines hold a lot more gas than pistol magazines because they need more to cycle than a pistol would. i typically go through about 2 cans of gas in an average game day. running gbbr primaries is a lot of fun and i’ve almost entirely converted over to them, 16 of my 18 replicas being gas powered as opposed to electric or spring. the experience is incredible, so long as you can stomach sinking around 600-900 dollars into a new setup every time you buy another one. tacking on cost of maintaining and powering them plus the fact that anything under a .36g bb is obsolete in a gbbr and you’ve really got an expensive system to pay for. that being said, even WE gbbrs are bang on accurate at around 220-230ft with as little as a new maple leaf rubber and the recoil really turns airsoft into a completely different experience. if you have the capital to support such a crippling addiction, definitely give it a try. as for first recommendations, the kwa mp7, vfc/cybergun scar H and WE xm177 have been my personal favorites thus far.

Why not? Super simple and still made to this day. Not for any military use mind you but I believe GSG makes them for civilians. You can still find them in many conflicts around the world. A bit unusual but plausible.
