This sharpener is superb for removing the burr after sharpening by other methods. It is too slow for doing the actual sharpening if you have a really dull edge.
I have tried doing it 20+ times. It works decent on a knife. It was not any good on the axe. But it's probably because this sharpener was made for fiskars axes.
