Yeah the clan is very real, my dad was born in the 60’s & told me in NC, when he was young he remembers seeing at the city dump funny enough (bc they are trash) the klan would hold meetings in the town dump & even when I was dual enrolled in highschool & my local community college, one of the professors, a white guy literally had clan members come & threaten him & he was a history professor, guess they didn’t like his version of history aka the truth. But that dude had big balls, roasted tf out of them & continues to talk shit on them knowing they’re in town, mad respect to that man

I remember hearing from others in high school class that a group of klansmen went into the park and handed out pamphlets and candy to kids . I didn’t see it myself, but classmates had pics to prove it. The klansmen supposedly were acting very nice, but this was clearly an attempt to rebrand and appeal to youth. My high school history teacher was having none of their nonsense, and the very next day canceled a test we were supposed to take and instead did several lessons on the hate crimes of the klan with video footage and quotes from witnesses to said hate crimes.

I am Donny Osmond white, and the only hood I have ever been in was attached to my jacket. Still, this is hilarious. I am 52 and stubborn. It took me to long to get to a point of not unconsciously buying into the racist and misogynistic images that television fed into my brain. This character was not putting thought into his choices, but going with what he had always been told was true. Living a life without self reflection and self education often leads to bigotry.

That’s what homeboy or homegirl means to me… also more so too that we go way back which differentiates from an associate or just a friend.

In country music's defense there aren't all that many songs that are like that, but there have been people cheered on for pretty much being exclusively biggots as well. Yeah... it's a weird genre, there is a more pure complex angle prior to stadium country that talked about poor southerners that explored classism tho and that was neat. I try to find something in every type of music I like, I dont want to just hate music of any kind. I like swing and early 20's jazz and death metal, punk, rap, country (classic), blues, classical, folk, even some polka....mostly just weird al tho.

Ok that's another thing about fried chicken. I still remember being a kid and seeing some guy say to this other guy that he loves fried chicken but in an angry way like he was putting him down? And then the other guy getting angry like he was just put down? ....I didn't understand at all. It was like one guy said the other guy likes a delicious food that everybody likes...and then the other guy got mad? I still don't understand it. How is it a putdown? Like I want to know what the food is that is better then fried chicken? I mean if saying somebody likes fried chicken then there must be some other food that's so much better it makes fried chicken not good....I don't think that food exists. My mouth is watering.
