Just came across this channel and it's brilliant! I'll definitely be watching the back catalogue. I never realised how many so called professionals are getting it wrong and Damp Sam calls them out with humour and respectfully. It's a fascinating subject and it's great that people like Sam are passing on their experience and educating all of us so that we can avoid getting ripped off because as you can see there are so many people that just don't know what they're doing when it comes to solving damp problems. Love this channel, thank Sam the You Tube community needs more people like you. 👍

Oh my goodness. Thank god for this guy! We need more genuine people like him calling out the fraudsters and cowboys . There’s so many types of damp it has to be ascertained first to establish the right course of action. Could be as simple as ventilation or as complex as stuctural tanking or subsidence. Even the allegedly “qualified” give different causes and reasons. Unless you establish the cause and treat that correctly, it will just come back.

what you were saying about lifting the gripper rods, I'd want to be doing that and the floor board to look at the joists.

Hi Sam, I have a non load bearing internal wall with rising damp, the wall is not brick but it’s orange cast blocks, can I use the rods rather than the liquid injection that is being used in this video. Thank you for your videos and opinions, much appreciated

Funnily enough I watched this video of Mark earlier today without knowing the existence of this channel and I pretty much drew the same conclusions.He did a sound job but it looked to me like the level had been raised too high on the path outside. Could have done with a channel cutting and filling with gravel for a clear, well drained, breakline.

Lots of negative comments about his diagnosis and how he’s repaired it etc. what tradesmen/ women seem to forget is that most of us have to take your word for what you tell us is wrong and we wouldn’t have a bloody clue if you were repairing it right or wrong in the first place. I thought he did a good job. In time, I guess you would see how effective the job has been. There are loads of sh*t so called experts out there doing building work, as there are so called car mechanics. On a positive note it was good to listen to your views on what he was doing,and maybe how it could have been done better. One big factor is what people are charged to do the job, there are a lot of people in desperate situations trying to get the best they can for the little money they have.
@dampsam

The video was because he got the stuff for free from Safeguard saying he was treating rising damp and it was totally mis diagnosed which is the biggest problem in our industry. He kept saying he wasnt a professional which for me makes it worse.
@paulbaldock8

@@dampsam How do ordinary people know when they are being mis diagnosed? Not everyone is as honest as yourself. Nowadays there so many videos on line offering advice, it’s really hard to know if your being steered in the wrong direction.
