@@winningsmile844 looks like you've replaced those miles of winning smiles with the shit eating snide of a sarcastic cynic. I have the gift of second sight. Trying to make a beautiful soul look foolish only makes you look jaded.
Yes but they dont have our divine spirit. They have souls and they probably will go to Heaven when they die. But we are still higher and have been given dominion over them (this means we have to care for them)
Yes. She is triing to figure out why she is so human in a dog's body. It probably doesn't help her to understand things that her owner calls her her child!
As someone who's been following Bunny for years... it's seriously not that deep. Bunny is only learning the difference between a dog and a human. The music is so overly dramatic 😂
I don’t believe that she was on antidepressants. For a while her mom did say that Bunny had been having some tummy issues and that’s what the medicine is for. I can’t remember ever hearing her mom say she was on antidepressants. Bunny has a wonderful family and loving home. I don’t think your context of video is correct but I could be wrong.
People are scared because they think dogs' brains likely cant handle something ad "heavly emotional" and "deep" as being "self aware". However dogs have already proven to be self aware so its irrelevant lol
Why is it hard for people to understand that some dogs have similar issues that we have? Bunny is smart and has even been able to tell her owner she had something stuck in her paw. Animals are much smarter than we give them credit for. We do the same thing with our own young. When they are babies they can't really communicate at all without crying. Bunny is intelligent and if she needs antidepressants, who cares. Dogs can get anxious and seem depressed as well. If this dog blows your mind on being self aware, y'all should check out Billi the cat with her "mad" button.
I swear people freaking out over a dog selecting and using words that were selected by a human. This is simply a training exercise for the dog to be using a small vocabulary of words over and over.
Yes they can be trained to imitate. That's not the case here. This dog answers intelligently. If it was just a trained imitation, the dog would just select the same buttons the human did or said. This dog communicates its wants and needs. It asks open ended questions. Animals that don't have buttons communicate in other ways, like my cat brings his toy to my husband when he wants to play fetch. He drops it and then grabs my husband's hand because wants him to throw it. So to say this is just a trained imitation makes this dog and my cat more intelligent than that comment
It's not weird. She thinks she's human because her owner says they're family and she is human. The dog is trying to make sense of why they are family but her mom is not a dog and she is not human. You have to watch the video not this guy trying to make some content off a popular channel
Maybe bunny is self-aware. If you dont know bunny, bunny is a dog that very smart and the owner practice bunny to press button for respond. But one vid is kinda creepy, bunny questioning its existence. Theres 3 or 4 video that creppy. First bunny look at the mirror and it's reflection the owner said "who is that?" Bunny press "human" and quickly press "friend/bunny" and the second video is bunny asking its existence bunny said "mum human?" The mom response "mum human.' The dog said "bunny dog?" And the owner said "mum human bunny dog" and theres one video again bunny said "dog why dog?" Bunny repeat again "dog why dog?" The owner kinda creep out or struggles how to answer its question. Its kinda scary when animals ask about their existence..
Bro the dog is probably the first dog to recognize it’s own reflection and is very confused. People are reading into this way too much. Can the owner just try and explain to the dog what an f ing mirror is. It’s trying to ask questions and the owner is too busy trying to explain to the dog it’s a dog and confusing it more
She is happy. Where do you see sadness? She goes for walks, gets scritches. She plays with Otter, she goes to the beach and plays with other dogs. She has toys. That's more than many other dogs.
This cost started as a little experiment to see what Bunny understood. As she learned, so did her owner. Plus, her owner learned the best way to train dogs. There is a book about the very bright pup, and a university is researching this method of speaking with dogs. It's so amazingly awesome. You go, Bunny!
there have been many cases of dogs learning english it's just that bunny has more vocabulary because more buttons and she has a mirror bunny is obviously going to question who she is after starting to become self aware most animals have never even seen itself
This just goes to show how important education is. Animals and humans have a lot of potential. Language is a very important and powerful part of mental development. It helps to form far more complex thoughts and to communicate with humans enables animals to acquire knowledge form humans they couldn’t gather otherwise and use the human input to think more unilaterally. The ability to meaningfully communicate with the dog in turn also motivates the human to engage with the dog, to teach them and communicate. We still have a superior intelligence to animals, but some especially intelligent animals like parrots with the right “education” I’m sure can reach the intelligence of a low IQ human adult, though they will never be nearly as proficient in speech. The established research now says parrots reach the intelligence of a 6 year old, but with the same education this dog gets and their long lifespan im sure a parrot has more potential than that.
They probably already are, but just in a human way. I don't think they would become as abstractly intelligent, though, and it wouldn't be fair to make them so. It would be the creation of intelligent beings in handicapped bodies. It would be a bad thing to make!
It’s a gradual process. Think of all the other dogs of equal or greater intelligence (or any other animal for that matter) that were never subjected to this kind of experiment and so we never know the extent of their current knowledge or learning capacity. Nothing wrong with a dog living a simple life, most people just have their dogs at home, at the park, maybe a trail or forest, but never subject their dog to something that would require them to learn
Bunny is a specially trained dog that helps its owner. The owner takes medicine, not Bunny. And yes, Bunny is learning how to use the English language to communicate w her owner. Bunny is really smart! And very inquisitive!
Do Humans Really Think They Are The Only Self Aware Species? We Already Knew That Dogs Were As Intelligent As Human Toddlers, They Usually Just Have No Ways Of Communicating Their Thoughts In A Way We Can Understand.
Omigosh, what a load of "stuff". She is on medication to help with some digestive issues. She is not learning to "act" like a human, she is learning to "communicate" in human terms. Bunny is opening up a whole new understanding, but, whatever this nonsense you are pushing is absolutely ridiculous. Just stop.
Some dogs are a cut above. I knew fifty years ago that dogs wanted to communicate. If you involve them in all your conversations, they pick stuff up. A lot of times it's useful stuff. They WANT to be the best they can be at what YOU want. If you show them you want them to learn to talk, they will continue to work on it because they know it's what you want.
The dog seems a little thin. Maybe she is hungry? Her owners take very good care if her and she really loves them. I think all animals are smarter than we think, but because we do not speak the same language, we are not aware of it.
I personally believe in reincarnation,so this does not surprise me one bit. I had a cat named Fred who had a level of consciousness that had no other explanation. Why Not???
We may believe they’re smart due to them being able to just know what they need to do, but not one animals can problem solve better than a human whose not mentally challenged or disabled in some way.
@@creathifyI’ve seen a study about chimps in controlled environments. One of the tests was to remember the pattern of a image that was shown to them in less then a second. Which they would remember perfectly. Definitely a feat not every human could do. To say animals aren’t smart is small minded thinking
@@creathify humans may be better problem solvers as you stated but most if not all of these said problems were created by humans in the first place. Humans are the ones who have complicated everything we can get our hands on but with animals, it either is or it isn’t, there’s no in between and no room for confusion and or complications. Humans have added all of these unnecessary complications for example the people pro nouns that has arisen, what’s wrong is right, what’s right is wrong these days, etc. We, as humans, spend way more time focusing on frivolous silly less important things and not enough time on the higher priority issues going on all around the world. I actually intended for my comment to be read with a little bit of humor behind it and not actually as a literal statement but now I know to always include emoji’s with my comments so maybe people will get a better understanding of my intention. 🤦🏻♀️ 💚💪🏼🫶🏻😇🦋🙏🏻
@@clarkflores5317 I agree 100%, animals are very smart and we must remember that we’re judging their intelligence in ‘our’ world but what if we were in ‘their’ world? Maybe from the animals point of view (the animals world), humans are inferior. Just an angle to consider. 💚🫶🏻🦋🙏🏻😇💪🏼
I have been following “What about Bunny “ for years. Bunny recognizes her image in the mirror! She is not depressed. She has digestive issues and that is why she is given medication.
I've always thought dogs think they look just like us so I can imagine how terrific it would be for them to see how they actually look that would cause so much confusion. I put my dogs up in the mirror they acted afraid I never did it again.
The owner should have given an answer for a three year old human not a functioning adult.....keep it simple....basic. She needs lots of positive reinforcement and lots of long hugs.
I think Bunny is somewhat self aware, I honestly do not know if it is more or less so than any other dog of her intelligence, she is certainly a lot deeper and smarter than I would have though possible.
Bunny is not on antidepressants but on anxiety medication, even before she started using buttons. She is a reactive dog and buttons are part of her therapy, so her owner could understand better Bunny's fears and anxieties. Of course she is self aware, most mammals are, butttons are a communication tool, for humans to understand what animals think and feel, not the other way around. Bunny said multiple times that she is a dog, she understands that, but syntactically she doesn't understand how is everyone her family, friends, mom and and dad, but they are humans. She doesn't understand best the word human but she's getting better. Don't spread misinformation and fear for views, this is a great scientific progress, no need to spread fear.
That dog communicates. Like a 3, 4, 5, or 6-year-old child. talking about philosophy. Humans have underestimated how wise these animals are And they're so aware of everything about us That's how they're able to keep up with everything we think they're supposed to know. They're almost running circles around us. because we don't quite understand them. and underestimate their understanding of emotions similar to ours just different interests.
I have had hundreds of dogs and cats in my life. As I do fostering. But two cats & one dog where clearly genius level intelligent. So my opinion is some animals are self aware. They become almost human adult level smart. Maybe more technically teenager? So I really believe animals are way more intelligent than people think. And some are genius level.
Guys don’t worry, the dog is in perfect health and is doing good! If you don’t believe me you can go to their RU-vid channel and check. This happened a long time ago.
To let everyone know, the dog in the video is Named Bunny. Bunny is currently the subject of scientific research. At the University of California. The videos, are for the research teams, to better understand certain things with dogs, and yes talking. Bunny did get depressed, and yes was and is still self aware. The owner posted the videos, at the beginning to show the world. Now Bunny can speak over 100 words, and can basically fully understand the equivalent to a 13 year old human.
actually I saw some animal expert video about it. In the video with a mirror Bunny step only on one button. There are too buttons, she would needed to step on to say "Who" "this". Also she doesn't looks on herself in the mirror, but something behind her (prop her owner). So no I don't think Bunny become self aware, at least no in the way people think
Humans are just a thing that has achieved personhood, through our ability of socialization and communication, giving this ability to others almost starts a cascade of self awareness
Wait.. I think I've peiced it together. Think about it. She said there's a stranger upstairs and when the mom checked there's Noone upstairs, The dog stared at her for a couple minutes, overly blinking. And She Thinks she is A Human. Whenever she looks into the mirror, She has a crisis. I think it's the mirror and buttons. Whenever the dog looks in the mirror, She has a crisis. And the mom goes over and says bunny. And that worsens it. I think the dog Is confused. The mom is saying Bunny, and the dog says "Why Dog". And knowing the dog Has no other dog in the house to play with. She thinks she's Also A Human and is confused as to why she is a dog instead of a human, but at the same time, How could she literally know where the buttons are? Dogs can't read Nor have muscle memory. She didn't teach her dogs how to understand words beside from buttons, which require the ability to read. She never taught her dog to read nor have muscle memory. Humans are the only things that have those abilities. Bunny doesn't even know what a dog is, nor what a human is, but she knows that she is like her mom, But she doesn't want to be a dog. And she goes over to the buttons and frequently wonders when she will die. And she says to her mom, "when no more bunny?". She is suicidal, she somehow knows personification. And she's having a crisis thinking she is a dog. It may sound like I'm lying, but she's Acting Like a literal human. Like she is a human, trapped inside of a dog body. I may sound overdramatic, but atleast think about this. It's also weird that she blinked at her mom and stared at her for like 3 minutes straight, Like she's thinking about Why she doesn't look like her mom. And she's suicidal. It's like she wants to kill herself then come back to her moms house as a human.
Anti-depressants? Fluoxetine? For Real? Now I am depressed. (And, I was just falling in love with the Bunny face when she's using words). Dogs just need lots of exercise to release seratonin and they are happy. Bunny does ask for Walk & Play
Wait till the day you actually pay deep enough attention to know that has been discussed in one of her videos already and really it's not that deep. I've been following money since the beginning when she was first learning just a small group of words. What she can do is already amazing so I have no idea why people are so into being big liars and making up crap about her that doesn't exist. She and her human are still active on all social media so how about people act like they got more intelligence than a dog and if you seriously have questions be responsible enough to go and ask her owner. Her owner will happily answer all questions you don't have to sit and pretend just because you've got nothing better to do.
