Is this eBay buyer trying to scam me? 

I really think I had this exact same buyer on a similar product. Wanted tech support help like this and they never tried to do return, just did a charge back on their credit card. Worst case scenario because I never got the item back, and eBay just yoinks the money from your account… annoying!

I just had a return because they said i sent the wrong bag and doesnt match the description "black " instead of "midnight". They sent me back a fake bag . I had video of my packing and video opening their return. I submitted photos and i won. Good Luck!

Really enjoy your videos Justin! In my limited experience of selling on eBay actively this past year, a scammy buyer opening a payment dispute has been the best possible situation for me as a seller. I made a sale for a basic item, right after purchasing, the buyer messaged me asking me to ship them a higher end version of the same item (weird). When they received the item from the listing, they opened an INAD with eBay, and eBay shockingly sided with that scammer giving them a refund and not requiring them to return it ($350 item). Right after I got the email from eBay stating they sided with the buyer, the buyer opened a payment dispute also, which gave me a 2nd shot. When a payment dispute is opened, eBay bows out and closes the case. I submitted all the photos in collages (to allow me to show them more than the 5 photos they allow for upload), all messages, everything. The payment institution sided with me and although I never got the item back, I got to keep the funds from the sale. I've only had this issue and 1 more false INAD, and weirdly enough, BOTH of them spoke the same broken English. Make of that what you will...

These scammers just go straight to their banks and claim charge back disputes through them. They don't open disputes throught eBay orcontact the seller or eBay. I had a couple buyers try this route but unfortunately for them I keep records.

Yes, they are trying to elude the payment and keep the calculator.

I also got a payment dispute on an item too, but I didnt have to do anything on it. They said I was trying to scam them, but everything was delivered and the buyer even left positive feedback so not sure how that works. Lol.

I love when I forget about an item and then it sells several months later 😅

Never using priority shipping again. They didn't cover my damaged item even though it was insured. I showed up with the broken glass item and she explains I did not put enough protection. I explained to them that I had thrown out all of the bubble wrap and paper wrappers because it was covered with shattered glass. In the end, they can come up with total bs and don't have to pay me for the damaged item.

You’ll def have to let us know how this turns out, but I’m gonna bet a steak dinner that eBay will side with the buyer (and, more importantly to eBay, their financial institution), and you’ll lose the sale and have to pay eBay a $20 fee for disputing. I had an even more cut-and-dry situation, where I was able to prove 100% that what the buyer claimed was not true (which I assume you cannot do with a vintage calculator - meaning you cannot definitively prove it was 100% functional), and eBay sided with the buyer in my case. I didn’t even bother both an appeal (life is too short), but I bet I would have lost the appeal as well.

I had a similar thing happened last week with a 27.00 item that he said he didn't authorize. Ebay sent me the notice and said not to worry, so I figure they will handle it.

Now I have an idea for how to use that blue shirt I bought 😅 I mostly just like clothes Made in the USA and the original tag just sweetened the deal, going to try it on 👕

Justin, love your videos! I just had someone claim that my package was opened when it arrived. A $250 sale. They also sent pictures of the package cut open but I could not download any of the photos, or save them (strange), got a network error, first for this. Anyhow, I opened a USPS case with the hope I can get my money back and I will probably end up refunding the buyer! I always say if the person is not being honest in the end, karma will come back to bite them.

Calculator dispute is clearly a scam. The bad English is usually a surefire giveaway. Her "hus-bend" LOL. Likely some overseas outfit using a U.S. address for shipping. I've had couple of those before. They just love to go the credit card dispute route; fortunately Ebay has gotten a lot better in past couple years about protecting sellers from this nonsense.

With flipwise will you be able to add something like shipping supply fees. I think this would be cool, because you'd be able to see an even more accurate representation of how much profit you made. Another great video btw !!

I had a payment with a credit card dispute, she goes I connected me multiple times, when they didn't, got a neg fed back been working since that to get back to above below seller.... Like just message and have free returns but I got hosed...

Just clarify, when you activate vacation mode does your items still show up on a search or are they hidden?

I just got scammed $95 and eBay ruled in the seller's favor because it says the package was delivered. But if you look at the tracking it says it was delivered to my post office to a parcel locker. Not to my address a parcel locker. It was a treadmill

Yeah those disputes are annoying but not worrisome. I’ve had $500 items disputed but eBay always sides with me.

I had a similar situation happen with a calculator. Buyer bought a Ti83 calculator and as soon as he got it he said calculator didn't work and showed me pics of a calculator that wasn't even the one I sent. I immediately called ebay to report him and remove negative feedback he left cuz I called him out. Basically he bought my calculator cuz his broke and tried to return his broken one to me and keep mine. Unfortunately for him, there were blemishes that I took pics of and sent them to ebay and his didn't match those. They refunded him despite that but not out of my pocket, thank god. I agree tho, he shouldn't have got anything back.

If they pick Item not as described when they do a return then eBay will approve the return even if your store doesn't accept returns.

Hi Sir, I have a question. Some of the mentioned items are taking months to sell, e.g. 7,8 months. My question is: Do you modify (change titles, prices, desc etc.) the listings in that duration or just leave it there as it is? Do you end them and relist them? There is also something like "stale listing" term used by many sellers that your listing if not updated or sold may go stale after a few months. Is that true? Some of my items takes time to sell. What I am doing is ending them and relisting after around 1.5-2 months. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks

I was recently just selling my 256GB iPhone 13 Pro Max on eBay and was sad I wasn’t able to list it above $500. Instead I put it up for auction and it ended up selling for $600 i really didn’t want to sell at that price so I contacted the buyer that I “apologize for the inconvenience of not shipping, I wasn’t going to sell the iphone no longer and that they should cancel” the buyer has never reached out for a refund and eBay sent me a payment, I’m new to eBay and I feel Iike I unintentionally scammed? Who’s in the wrong here? Should I wait it out a few days because the payment of $547.74 is rn in my bank account with a “processing” could eBay take the money right out?

Hey, I sold my oster rice cooker yesterday all of a sudden! How weird. Shipping was too much.

I'm having established accounts scam me now, with emails from ebay that a sale has been cancelled because a seller is no longer on the platform. This happened to me just last week with a buyer with 200 feedback and account created in 2020. I think people are hacking these accounts and purchasing what they can. As soon as it ships they cancel their account and dispute the payment, and there's nothing we/I can do

Probably not trying to scam you. Maybe just an older buyer not sure how to do a return and more accustomed to calling their card company. As for the calculator, who knows. Old battery, user error 🤷‍♂️ no way to know.
