Here we have the Coleco Starcom Shadow Bat vehicle from 1986. Also reviewed are the Shadow Parasite vehicles, and the Shadow Invader! Please subscribe to the channel and leave any comments down below! Thanks for watching! 🙏🐵
@@robertwong2412 Very strange how it wasn't more popular in the States. It was a very good toyline. Thanks for watching, Robert! Have a great weekend 🙏🐵
Yeah it's a great toyline but for some reason it never caught on like it should have. Was more popular in Europe than the States, but it sort of came and went pretty quickly. Thanks for watching dude! 👍🙏🐵
Yes, not all the vehicles had the Magna Lock, but the playsets did. The figures are very expensive for their size, but I hope to get at least two for the vehicles I have. I doubt I will be getting more Starcom in the foreseeable future though. Thanks for watching sir! 👍🐵
Hi Pony puffler! The shadow Bat you have there is a great piece from the Starcom toyline! I still have what is left over from a Starwolf, maybe it will become a restoration project one day. As a child I used to appreciate the Starcom vehicles bacause they had moving parts that worked without batteries.. Btw, again great electro tunes in the video ;-)
Hey there! 🖐 Thanks for watching, and thank you for the kind words! Yeah I feel the same, I love the fact that these didn't need batteries. I really don't like most toys with batteries, with the exception of some of the Star Wars vehicles. Hope the video was still enjoyable despite Skeletor being absent this week... See you next time I hope! 👍🙏🐵
Yeah this toyline is underrated for sure. If the vehicles weren't so expensive I would have a lot more! Thanks for watching, I really appreciate the support! 👍🐵
Thanks dude, yeah it's a lovely toy. The action on the parasite vehicles is sooooo satisfying to behold. Yes those resistor motors are brilliant, that fizzing noise they make is excellent. It's a pity that the cargo hold mechanism on mine is shot to bits, but I got this for a bargain and I couldn't pass it up at that price. Thanks for watching dude, I appreciate your continued support from the beginning of the channel! 🙏🐵
Wicked look at the star-com line mate, and that is a wicked vehicle, strangely this reminded me that me and my bro bought two of the parasite vehicles as kids!!! Dunno why as I don’t remember been in to star com, but I nice little toy line, and the bat is pretty formidable looking, great play features too. Thanks for sharing man 👍
Thanks for watching Luke! This toyline is really overlooked unfortunately. I can't think of another line that used the gimmick of resistance "motors" as well as this. Some of the action features are mind-boggling when you think of the engineering that was necessary. I'd really like some more of the line, especially the Starbase playset, but I simply don't have the room for the bigger stuff. The Shadow Bat currently lives on my sofa 😅 Cheers dude! 👍🙏🐵
I don't know anything about these toys but I have a bad memory. It looks like a good toy. Not sure if Skeletor is going to fit in that cockpit. Maybe get one of those mini-versions of him. NASA needed more lasers on their space ships. Good video. Have a great day.
Thanks Andrew, hahaha yes Skeletor is annoyed it's not big enough for him. The Starcom line was really good, it's definitely one of the most overlooked toylines of the 80's. The engineering involved is astounding for what needed to be an affordable toyline (although they were higher-end toys admittedly). I don't think there will ever be a line like this again. Thanks so much for watching dude! 🙏🐵
Great review. Sadly I didn't like StarCom because it wasn't "Star Wars", narrow minded kid I was. But I did like some of the ships. Never caught the cartoon either.
Some of the engineering in the toys was amazing. When I was a kid this was basically magic 😂 There will never be toys like this again. Thanks for watching man! 👍🐵
It's a great line, isn't it. I think a lot of people are in your situation. Did you have many? Thanks so much for watching the video, I really appreciate the support! 🙏🐵
I've just realised he is probably getting wise to the fact that, despite your assurances, when it comes to MASK Vehicle Reviews he will be shot or assaulted in some way. ;P
I can't believe I'm seeing this, I had this toy when I was young with all the bits and what not including the pilots. I don't recall any hidden features from the magnalock stuff unfortunately but I could've just been ignorant of the existence of those features. I might still have these toys in storage at my mothers, but its been years since I've seen them. I believe I lost the paralaser cannons if I recall correctly. Very cool find!
Hey Delod, thanks for the comment! I'm glad the video brought back some good memories for you! This is the only Starcom vehicle I have at the moment, but it's a great one! Thank you for checking out the video, it really supports the channel! Have a great week sir! I 👍🐵
I could be mistaken but the cargo bay mechanism is supposed to deploy only when the Bat is on the ground, by lifting the front of the ship UP (like Jaws), not slowly drop open while flying. You can hear the winding mechanism clearly still works.
Right, I've just done it on the ground and it works perfectly! I am such a doofus. I feel like such an idiot now. Thanks so much for pointing that out. I thought mine was broken, but instead I was just doing it wrong! I may revisit the Bat in a future video so that I can rectify my mistake and point out how to do it properly! Thanks so much for letting me know. I feel like such a turkey now lol 😅 This information has made my day! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment, Trei. I really appreciate the support. Have a great day sir 👍🙏🐵
Haha, well if you tried, you were puffling successfully. Now wash your hands. Thanks for watching my friend! Sorry this wasn't an amusing video but there was a bit too much to cover and I didn't feel like messing about. 🐵
There's a Shadow Vampire too, and that looks amazing so I might have to hunt down a complete one at some point, after I've robbed a bank or sold a kidney...🐵
